    • @JLor-eu5oh

I kind of h8 fashion trends. To me they make people look like sheep. Don't follow any trend. Make your own. Really? polka dots, naw this "trend" is done being as it, never really ever fully engaged a take off.
Some trends remind me of someone trying way too hard to make "fetch" happen.
Any way, as soon as the new trend explodes, there are twenty more to follow.
      As for pedal pushers...
They are best suited for kids under ~24.
I want to see the thick belts with medallions. I predict ornamental type embellishments crashing into the scene, especially distressed metal and futuristic post Armageddon deconstructed looks with splashes of washed out colors. Not pastels but faded primaries.
I think mixes of both neutrals and colorful primaries, as well as mixed materials and textures will prevail.
Sustainability and durable long lasting clothing and accessories must be made more available for all.
Let's all re-create and experiment with our own original curated looks.?

Pedal pushers/capris/clam diggers (now that's a name that goes way back, but are in the same genre) date back to the 1950's. Girls would roll up their jeans to achieve the look. 1950s-pedal pushers. 1940s-polka dots. 1970s-ruffles, often with psychedelic prints. 1950s-early 1960s-ballet flats, followed by 1970s casual shoes in “ballet flat look.” 1980s-athletic fashion took off, and I’d say, took over as it has never waned. Peplums? On the runway and Oscars mainly, a flash in the 2010s, a masking faux-illusion that betrays you have something to hide. Baguettes? Practicality has always won out in the long run over bread shapes. Heels again? Go for it, ruin your feet, feel them ache. Didn’t our grandmas change that in the last quarter of the last century? Pointed shoes-so, so late 50s. Going back 70 years is the best they can do? Polo and collared shirts and scoop neck shirts switch roles all the time. Thanks for the fascinating review. The common sense of women kicked in hard in the 70s when the “fashion designers” in one decade went from mini skirts to calf length to above the knee to below the knee. All their shenanigans managed to do is switch many disgusted women from skirts to slacks. Flowing with the trends is fun-until it gets old.

Pedal pushers and all pants above the ankle bone should be very slim fitting to look the most flattering. They extend your legs visually, unlike baggy, cropped pants which look like you've had a sudden growth spurt or shrunk them in the dryer. They also have to hit your calves in a spot most flattering to YOUR legs, not the same for all women.

They go with basically everything, pants, dresses, skirts, shorts, they just never look wrong with anything, and also are cute or offer a small elegance to any outfit. To say that ballet flats are out, is like saying boots are out, of sandals are out, and they never are.
