I might try that sometime. It really isn’t much more $ than the regular soft points. I particularly was interested in the superformance 178 gr eld-x precision hunter rounds. I have a lot of boxes of my current stuff though. Plus some Sako 180 gr soft points. To use as well. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll try it out for a video or something.

How much does it lbs with scope is it around 6 lbs 🤔 carry a 10lbs rifle all day will get to me. Not yung no more and after a bad motorcycle accident just can't wak the same for miles just in pain and not good the next day. I need lighter rifle but like the Old 30-06 for mule deer 🦌 and Elk in northern New Mexico. Like the SS look all wether.

This rifle is a T3 hunter stainless which means it has a wood stock with a stainless barrel and receiver. It seems fairly light to me. I would guesstimate it is about 6.5 lbs not counting the scope.
Tikka makes the T3 light and now the T3X light which has a synthetic stock and they might be a tad lighter but I like the one I got because it is so well balanced. I feel if the stock were lighter the barrel would make it more forward heavy which I don’t like in a rifle.

    how's the recoil?

I don’t find the recoil too bad. Definitely less than the 45-70. A bit more than a .308. I only notice it when bench shooting numerous rounds wearing just a t-shirt. When hunting it’s one shot and I have more clothes covering the shoulder, etc.
