It blows minds to think a poor black girl was raised in a rural place like this and all she had was a dream in her head about being a singer --- and then she goes on to become the Queen of Rock 'N Roll and is admired by many millions of people! RIP, Anna Mae .... you did Nutbush proud❤
Doesn't surprise me at all. Many Motown singers were from the projects. The majority of that era had fathers in the home too, at leadt some started off with two parent families. What's more surprising is the second half of Tina's life!!
Rih love you never forgotten loved all over the world Tina Turner put Nutbush Tennessee on the map never will it be a queen 👑 of Rock and Roll like her again Well done.
Rest in peace Tina. You surely will be missed and your music will still be playing. You fought a good fight and won the war .🙏🙏🙏🙏. Now our Lord got his signing starters
Wonderful video and photos Keith. Everything I’ve viewed of yours always “tells me a story.” You get to some interesting places and this was certainly one as well. I’m a huge fan of monochrome and yours are superb. Thanks for sharing.
She brought us a lot of fun and excitement in her dance and music. Ike did also. So just be thankful,! Life is just a dance. Some dances are slow, and some are fast. But it can be fun!
Enjoyed this journey with you, Keith. A lot of my ancestors were from around Trenton, TN. We visited that area a few years ago and it was a good trip. Stay safe and keep on moving.
Its breath taking country view side. Apart from the noise of those car and truck driving pas. The tree has a Story to Tell & becomes a witness of those Innocent Black Young Man who's Once Hang by the White Heatres and Racist so called KKK. The town have been abondent and its clamed by the nature. I am glad Tina was moved and become a Rock N Rols Queen. God Bless her😢
Superb video, friend. The flat landscape is not unknown to me over here is this the landscape. I could be made in the Netherlands, my friend. Nice when you see those decayed houses standing between all that vegetation. That those houses there are all white, does that have to do with the warm temperatures? History can simply be seen in reality with you. Not from books and old photos, but just being able to go there. I love this because if a house is empty for too long, everything around it is cordoned off and the house is completely boarded up. But now for a technicality, buddy. Your Hasselblad makes beautiful pictures. It has no problems with hard light. The highlights are beautiful in the photo you show on the screen. It remains a super tool to take really beautiful photos. I enjoyed watching it again, Keith. Warm regards from the Netherlands, Antoine.
Thanks Antoine -- I always appreciate you thoughtful comments. I think white paint was very popular in those days, and possible the heat resistance may have been partly why. I agree about the Hasselblad and how film handles the harsh light. The shadows under the front awning on that old store have luminance that digital cameras would tend to make into a dark spot. The more I shoot film, the more I am convinced that it really holds the light better than a digital sensor.
I hope there is a historical marker in the town showing Tina Turner lived there...can they do that? It would be so nice. Wonder if she/Tina ever went back to reflect.

I had the same thoughts! Just goes to show that extraordinary people can come from less than ordinary places
Be prepared for visitors now Nutbush!!!

I surely love that place. Thanks
No wonder she never went back there. 🙄 (She said in an interview)
She went back once, I believe she told Letterman one night.
DA WOODS. I USED TO LOVE PLAYING IN DA WOODS.
To think that this absolute hole in the ground is responsible for the greatest 3min funk rock earthquake ever conceived. Crazy shit.
Wait! 259 people? That's it?
Fa strano vedere tutto abbandonato, dove in tempo c'era vita, la natura si riprende i suoi spazi.
She really did.
What rd eas the old store on brother?
It’s right on the main road through town Highway 19. You can’t miss it
I bet your favorite pic was a General Store or maybe a Bar in its day… most homes sat far back from the roads or behind their business
Yes!
The richest country. In the world!!! Where are the billionaires?
I like places like this, you can sit naked in the yard

Did you report those bones? They could be human. Yuk!
No they were a small a animal probably a dog.
If I was a Millionaires I would do that Papakainga/Home Up.
Was that the house she grew up in
No I think her house is gone. These were just other houses in town. Thanks for watching.
