I'm not a big fish guy, but I grew up on Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. It was my traditional Good Friday dinner as a kid. I still like them with ketchup instead of tarter sauce and I put fries on them.
McD has the best fish sandwich of all major fast food chains. I've personally, along with a coworker, done a day after day test of all the fish sandwiches until we ran out of places to get them.

The Fish Fillet bun is the same bun used for hamburgers, cheeseburgers, McDoubles, etc. The ONLY difference is the fish buns get steamed. The others get toasted. Since the same bun is used for all these different sandwiches, there is no way they would ever bring out a smaller size just for the fillet.

in my country (germany) mc donald didn´t change that much...only thing i miss is the "weeks" from the late 90´s to early 00´, we had mexican and asian week, stuff like that...the fish burger only changed its name from mc fish to filet-o-fish in like 2009 i think...in general mc donald stayed the same from my childhood till now (i´m 34)

I know it's been mentioned before, but aside from the inferior taste of the Wendy's Cod sandwich, I think the addition of lettuce actually takes away from the overall taste, even if the fillet was edible. The other thing is that McDonald's adds cheese, which is usually melting.

Yes I've asked them many times.
And if they do ever change it, I know who to look for so that I can kick their ass. That’s the best thing on their menu and I eat all kinds of ethnic foods.
