    I absolutely love a Schulmerich system! The best available!

    Cool! It sounds really nice, Corey. These systems really shine in the swinging bell department, also in the lingering hum tones of the True Cast voice. Thanks for posting this!

    • @coreyscarillons
      @coreyscarillons  3 года назад

      Indeed - it offers quite the improvement over the older systems without the Liturgical Player (which was effectively a set of TrueCast bells on a dedicated set of circuit boards). They had a much simpler swinging bell, similar to those in the rod-era.

      @Cayden Noles This system is not equipped for Westminster Chimes - I may be able to get a sample in the future if I come across a DSP system with them.

    Hey Corey, I’m Ernie from first Presbyterian church in Verona, NJ. We have a novabell mark 3, which seems to have a component failure. Upon plugging in a constant “whinnying “ sound is emitted and all the F- lights stay on. It is Stuka like this. Any suggestions ?

    • @coreyscarillons
      @coreyscarillons  Год назад

      Hi Ernie, it sounds like the power supply may have failed - it and the display module are the two most likely culprits at this age. Generally, replacing them will get the unit back on the right track and allow it to keep playing for many more years to come. I'd be happy to help further - contact info is at the end of most of the videos posted here.

    Our display has gone dark, so programming is impossible. Pastor Reynolds, Lock Haven, PA

      Hi Pastor - it sounds like you just need the display replaced - this is a common issue with these systems at this age. I'd be happy to speak with you further about getting your system back to fully operating condition.

    Hey Corey. At my local church we use the same system but for some reason our outside bells won’t ring we can hear the tower inside but not outside the church. Do you know if there’s a mute option on this we might be overlooking?

    • @coreyscarillons
      @coreyscarillons  2 года назад

      Hi Michael - if you can hear inside it could be the monitor speaker, or an indoor speaker that is still working properly. Someone could have potentially turned the tower volume down to near zero - effectively muting it.
      There could also be an issue with part of the amplifier, the tower relay board, or the tower speaker(s).
      I’d be happy to speak with you, which might help a bit more. Regardless of the cause it should be repairable.

      Yes, this indicates the display has failed. I’ve helped with replacements in the past.

    Drat the doorbell.... ;)
    Does this Basicilan have the Liturgical Player, or are those voices generated from the DSP?
    What happened to this cabinet rack? Was it stored in a wet place? I was lucky with my MkIII Embassy that was only soiled and only required some buff out.

    • @coreyscarillons
      @coreyscarillons  3 года назад

      Everything is generated off the DSP board. The rack must have been stored in a location with a leak, as it is a little more rough than average, but thankfully nothing ever got inside of the system.

    The college that I work at, has this unit, but I can not get the bell tower or inside lights to come on, there for, I do not think it is communicating with the speakers. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @coreyscarillons
      @coreyscarillons  2 года назад

      Apologies, I did not see this comment when posted. I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot - the lights will illuminate whether or not the speakers are working. It is possible it took a lightning hit or surge and the TIC (Tower Interface Control) board may have an issue. It can be repaired if this is the case.
      Additionally, you will need to turn the key if you are trying to manually control the tower and inside relays. Does the system appear to operate (play by schedule, etc)? Is the blue display working?

    Corey, my church has a Schulmerich electronic carillon that uses the large tapes. I have done a couple of repairs in the past with parts direct from Schulmerich, but as you are aware, Schulmerich is no longer in the digital carillon business and Verdin does not support the old units. I am in search of a replacement drive belt for the tape unit or at least a description of the belt. I can, of course just measure and try to match the size, but would prefer an exact replacement or at least accurate information. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this.

      Hi Phil, was a pleasure talking to you earlier. Best of luck with your repair!

      I ordered an 11.5 inch medium width belt that fit perfectly, but then realized that the pinch roller was not functional. I could not find a 23mm diameter pinch roller to fit, but there was a replacement Schulmerich tape deck on eBay with a good pinch roller. I did not mind ordering the entire unit as I now have a unit for parts (including another belt). Thanks for you assistance.
