Yes, I can goof as much as anyone else. To produce a quality pop-up one often has to make several experimental rough versions in order to work out all the lengths and angles.
For quick and easy folding as shown in these tutorials, where the card doesn't need to be scored, I use 160gsm. for more substantial models probably 220gsm. is better, but this will have to be measured and scored. The ideal card is as rigid as possible and as thin as possible. sometimes most of a pop-up could be relatively light weight card and just make it double thickness where a component needs extra strength. The size of the pop-up also dictates the weight of the card - the bigger the pop-up the heavier the card needs to be.
I can't figure out how did you make the two figures in one card the boy and the girl? Can you tell me how? I know it's a parallelogram but what did you put under the base or it's like the 2 first cards When you close it, the center of the card closed with the center of parallelogram How?
Start with a Parallelogram - the parallelogram has a long side ad a short side, the figure is built onto the crease above the short side. Now build another parallelogram - this one is built into the gully where the long side of the first parallelogram joins the page. On the first parallelogram the short side is on the right - on the second parallelogram the short side is on the left.
