We still have to be careful of what might happened if these brilliant tool fall in to the hands of people with bad in intentions . Other than that the future looks amazing but how do we get there sooner ?
I have no problem with people calling all tablets iPads. iPad has become relatively generic name for such devices just like many popular products in the past (Kleenex for example)
on top of what André Mestre said, the idea that us 'getting too old' as a problem is non-sense because if people are so healthy that they live to 120 they likely can work and contribute instead of just being burdens possibly up to age 100. Just because we'll live longer doesn't mean we'll just age into dust. We'll maintain youth not age.
Computers already far surpass the human mind in some areas. They're pretty damn quick at arithmetic for example. But they're not really all that comparable to a human brain. The processing paradigms employed are so vastly different.
when you say for example that somehow implies that there other ones.computers can calculate everything else debatable. my point and yours being that they are not comparable so why bring such an argument in the presentation?
Oh my, I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad there seems to be a trend that apple is not the only thing out there. You only need to watch a single jacksfilms parody of an apple product to really get the basics of why apple is not that great. >.> I wish I didn't buy my iphone. It's starting to fail because they no longer really care for my version, and I don't have the money to get a new one. I will not be buying another iphone when I finally do replace this thing.
There should be a video on the dangers of all this information on your body leaking to other people and how this technology could further devide the poor and the rich. Little african kids can't afford a smartphone with all these gadgets like iPill, even if they 'only' cost a few hundreds of dollars.
had to stop watching after he said that computers are beginning to surpass the ability of the human mind. because if he thinks that he should'n be up there. and if he doesn't think that then he is lying and should'n be up there.
Animal testing in Medicine, if done with care, isn't that much of a problem. Not optima, but still better than most alternatives. Talk about animal testing in cosmetics... that's useless.
Doctors tend to be rich kids who went down that path because their parents told them to, as a result, they lack empathy. Nurses do most of the work, and are the ones who get into the job because they want to help people. I just want you to be wary of doctors, they're not that great.
This is not as great as you might think. If we truely come to live in a world like this, people will live until they're maybe 120 years old (just making a wild guess). This planet is already overpopulated. We're already getting too old.
I am very suspicious of the way this man talks. Normal people do not "leverage". Businesses "leverage". Hospitals "leverage". I love TedTalks because I find that the common thread among them is that they are trying to teach. But not this man. His language says he is trying to obscure, like he is making some kind of business pitch.
I hate how he speaks about 'iphones and ipads' instead of the more general 'smartphones and tablets'. Please don't start a google vs apple war, I'm just saying there's more than only apple out there.
I'm here because my school made me watch this
I’m just here so I dont get fined
he talks really fast, but I love the content
I'm ready. If one 1% of these ideas pan out, it will change everything -- and there are more ideas coming all the time.
Great information!

09:46 internet internet explorer? srsly?
I wish medicine could advance without all the animal testing.
to bad doctors won't push these breakthroughs onto the market because they won't make as much money.
No
