🔹 This video covers what I believe to be the best Laten and Deinon build. Unless I’m a brick, raptor strikes is garbage. This build is focused on pounce cycling and stam regen. Of course I don’t know everything so feel free to tell me if I made any mistakes in the comments, pls subscribe ❤️

The game is Path of Titans, It is an MMO dinosaur video game currently in active development for home computers and mobile devices fully compatible with cross platform play. Play as one of 18 core dinosaurs in a rich ecosystem filled with complex AI creatures and up to 200 other players. Explore an environment filled with natural events, quests, guilds, adventures, and free-form play, all while enjoying a rich life, avoiding death, and augmenting your dinosaur to suit your play style.

You forgot some of the most important counters to the raptors. Dinosaurs that can use slick scales and metri and cera can actually Bite you when you've pounced them by turning in a sharp circle the same direction. That they've been pounced on.

These little rascals have quickly turned from the least viable to arguably the most viable dinos on the roster. Now when you're playing as another dinosaur, you sometimes have to adjust your build specifically to deal with raptors if you feel that there might be a lot of them in your area which is crazy.
True,now they truly are scary for real
Tbh they survived pretty easily before anyways due to needing little food to survive + good agility, people underestmated them anyways I almost soloed a conca as a laten once believe me lol
Oh also cera can nock off raptors off itself by using shove I found this out when I was being swarmed by latent and I used shove and they got nocked the heck off me
Except for the fact one post nerf pachy can easily solo a whole pack
What do you mean least viable? Laten at least could solo apexes like it was nothing with Hiss and night buff, you just had to play it smart. People are only making raptors now cuz of Pounce thinking its op, but when you get chased by an Alio with Slick Feathers and you try to Pounce it without knowing HOW TO ACTUALLY PLAY RAPTOR??? You are dead. Laten was so amazing without Pounce. Now its just ridiculous lol
I love that the smoll guys finally getting some love!!!I wished buck was more effective tho,or that you could use trees and rocks to get them off you(like running close to rocks or trees would make them fall off)
if you've got a raptor on you, try to turn to the side walking/running and bite, i can usually hit them on me. dasp can bonebreak raptors on its shoulders lol
If you play stegosaurus you can tail hit them off unless their on the front.
tell me what to do if I (triceratops) and he sat on me, how do I beat him, I've already died 10 times because of them
@@Granatik-i6t as a trike you have to backup against a wall,to cover your backside,and then start bucking to get them off,a good idea is to also use water so when they go off you blast them

Im a deinon Main. After testing with all 3 sub species, my OPINION is that the balanced with NO hide is the best. The speed build while extremely fast, makes small turns and agile movements against smaller dinos nearly impossible. If you wanna fight something bigger than you speed is fine but the defense you lose from the speed sub species makes you nearly a 2 shot kill to almost everything in the game. The Def is the opposite. Its defense is the best of all the raptors but the sacrifice in speed makes it so even simple dinos such as dasp and cerata can catch you making the extra defense pointless in the end. With Balanced you dont sacrifice defense or speed. You maintain both. I personally chose the slick feather to stop sarcos from grapping me while mainting my decent agility and mobility without sacrificing any defense. As for the moves i use standard bite, tail fan (can be used for evasion, can be used in conjunction with jumping to jump over canyons/ridge top to ridgetop etc.) and bark.
Added: ive solod sarcos on the water line and rexs playing defensive with the balanced subspecies with slick feathers. Im not a master but id be lying if i said this build wasn’t versatile as all hell
Edit 2: hides CAN be your choice using the balanced sub species. BUT i dont recommending committing to speed or defense builds. The increase of one stat at the sacrifice of the other on the raptor is a rare occasion where its not worth it. Example. Dont do defense species and defense hide. Dont do speed species with speed hide. If you must pick speed or def i recommending hide empty or slick feathers.

+ i think if u need less stam at jumping, u have more stam for pounce right, what gives u more damage making time, i tested def feathers and i think they are good too, raptors dont hit me with pounce and im not near water, what do u think of def feathers?
@@shinotrixmusic7085 the def feathers a fine but using them on a def sub species makes you too slow. The ability to make jump cost less stamina is useful yess but you lose all evasion with the tail fan and you lose the mability the tail fan provides

Just know that Latenvenatrix is actually not a raptor but a troodontid. Deinon is the only actual raptor in the game so far modded or not

Fun fact, troodontids are only classified on a single tooth that they've found. So, tbf troodontids may just be dromaeosaurs after all so the laten might be a raptor.

also jsut a tip for everyone saying pounce isnt counterable, depending on what you are [works with cerato, deinon, laten, dasp] and dependiing on where they pounce, you can bite them while they are pouncing. including bonebreaking them while theyre are pouncing :3

Also if you’re a pachy or cerato, you can use kick, and it’ll instantly detach the raptors, as well as dealing dmg.

I've been playing Laten for a long time now, and since the most recent update that allows them to not be damaged by the thing they're pounced on, I wanna give my insight.
With Laten, you want the +10% damage at night if you're in a larger group (3+) but stamina recovery is just as viable, and slightly more versatile. You want bite, of course, raptor strikes is still just as bad as it was when this video came out. Moonlight Hunter of course is the only option for senses still, so go with that. Hide you want slick feathers, but also keep Night Stalker purchased in case you're dealing with a bleeder dinosaur at night. Pounce is required, and Tail fan is insanely good. Voice, you actually want all three - keep Hiss or Bark on at day, and Night Terror at night.
Night terror is amazing if you're fighting something at night, especially in a group since it can stack to 10, that's 150% damage boost + 150% stamina regen boost, not counting the damage boost you get from the subspecies. Hiss you want in case you're fighting something that does big damage, like apexes, so you don't die in one hit, especially if it's difficult not to pounce onto the front of the dinosaur. Bark is just generally good for when you're fighting anything during the day.
Tail fan I usually use not only for its lovely speed boost while jumping, but I also use it after I unlatch from a dinosaur to avoid being hit on the body/head. Usually if you time it right, you can just jump off without being hit entirely, but the tail fan makes it even easier.
I find that baiting bites / brake checking in front of slower dinosaurs is a great way to get an easy pounce in, but be cautious because it doesn't work all the time, and you get punished heavily if you get hit like that. If you have multiple people, go in one at a time, keep them on their toes, never let them sit down. Cycle through one at a time, and while one person is pounced, another can get stamina.
i found that the pounce with the reduced jump stam is better then the tail fan the jump and pounce dash you get comes up more often then the other one
3:51 i'm a newbie at this game and I identified with that, I play dbd too and i have a lot of hours of play there I was just using my experience there, to escape whenever an aggressive player engaged at me against my pycno, and I say that... 90% of the time it worked well xD.
My Dbd experience has actually carried me 😅
Kick attacks (Cera kick, Conca Kick, and especially Pachy Kick) hits latched on raptors and damages them if you guys didn't know that.
And some creatures can also hit and damage latched on raptors on them depending on where the raptor is latched.
Spino can use its claw attack if the raptor is latched near its neck but can't do anything to raptors latched near the tail.
Stego can use its tail attack to latched on raptors near its tail but can't do anything to raptors latched near its neck.
Metri, Cera, and Alio can turn fast enough (walking while turning) to bite latched on raptors on their sides. Unless if you're using slick scales on Alio then this is irrelevant.
And Sty can use its headbutt to hit latched raptors near its neck by doing the same method via walking and turning.
Tip: Spam the jump button and turn and bite at the same time to reduce the raptor's stamina pool while also dealing damage to them. This is difficult to do though, but you will get used to it.
I haven't tried the other creatures yet but when I do I'll try to share them as well to be able to deal with the raptor infestation lol

The best sub-species is for sure + speed - defence , the healing on dienon is insane , and the speed is pretty bad if its base.

One thing to remember is Alios can equip the same skin to be safe from ponces, they are faster and stronger
Oh and on top of that they have better stam with correct build

They need to give lat and deinon SOME bleed back. Even if its a tiny amount. It used to be a risk vs reward glass cannon dino. Now its just glass.

As a good deinon player, id suggest speed sub spec OR def sub spec+speed hide. And tail fan takes too much stam, so if we used the reduced the jump stam cost [if we missed pounce or whatever] we really need the stam.
Me and my friends tried the bite which gets better over time and in my head I was wondering why it took so long for us to kill a adult conc despite going at it with 3 people on back at once.. I think I now know why😂

Everything is good, but for Deino the best build is Balance. You're already fast and you don't want to get 1 or 2 hits from your enemy (like small dinos like you)
And for Laten, now +25 Jump height is the best now

I found the best secret counter to pounce is to let them land it and then take them for a free boatride to the open ocean.

I’m glad all 4 starters are now all very fun and no longer at the bottom of the tier list, struthi can 1v1 a cerato, campto can out run anything and raptors well we all know there story.
Something from my personal experience as a veteran Deinon(and laten to more so but this is about deinon) player, given that deinon is faster than laten by default, faster with speed subspecies, you don’t necessarily need the tail fan although it is very useful because tail rudder reduces the jump stamina by 50% and makes air control very slightly easier so as a playable that doesn’t have a stam recovery subspecies saving as much stamina as possible is crucial to your survival. This is completely up to you however if you’re not too great at avoiding attacks, as for me I find it incredibly useful when jumping takes basically no stam

If ur a solo lat hiss is the best even in groups u can face tank a Pachy and it reduces fall and reflective damage
The biggest issue right now is from what I’ve seen you can’t pounce modded dinos and if your pounced on their from half of their body you can’t be bitten if they just look as far back as possible which is very annoying if your fighting dinos with heavy bites like trex dasp etc

I use balanced deinon because most of thee time you are going to be using your tail fan to travel. Also use hiss on laten!!! It is the most broken ability in the game it let's you face tank most mid tiers and win. (worth mentioning that deinon is the only creature i play in this game) EDIT: my bad NOT mid tiers most 3 slot creatures

@nvGunn - That’s been my take on ‘Hiss’ as well. My goal on Laten is using its agility to avoid getting hit, so I can’t find much value in that ability.
@@CrucibleBlack13 that is true but 65% is a lot of damage reduction so you can just face tank them kill them and end the fight there. its pretty much just an instant win card if they are dumb enough to try and face tank you
@@nvGunn like i said you can just face tank them so in other words you can kill them right then and there if you are both facing each other and biting so it doesnt matter how much dmg you take since the fight will be over

In my humble opinion I think that pounce needs a nerf. At the moment a pack of raptors can kill anything with ease(except when they have slick hide) and bucking is really bad so i think that bucking should get a buff and pounce should get a nerf

Every single low tier Can solo a pack.. they don’t need a nerf but bucking should definitely be more effective for solo apex’s and whatnot
A reasonable start is ‘Bucking’ should inflict a bit more stamina drain to raptors. On one hand I enjoy the Pounce update but some dinos can deal with it easier than others. Being on the receiving end isn’t as much fun when you have few options on a species that struggles to do anything but take free incoming dmg without response.

As a guy who has a little hours on dbd (4k hours) i can safely say that the movement does help play deinonychus, but dont play dbd bc its the worst game ever😊😊😊
