Congratulations! My wife and I decided to just do the marriage first and then file I-130. We got married July of 2022 and I filed the I-130 in May of 2023. We started out at 11 months until decision and got down to 2 months and then got pushed back to 5 months. After getting down to the last week it then says they are experiencing longer than normal wait times. The following week we got pushed back 9 months. We're at 8 months now. She's back working in Hong Kong now and will most likely be going through her process there..... Whenever we get there. Good luck to you with the rest of your process!
I hate to break this to you. My wife and I also opted for the CR1 visa route ( will turn into an IR1 in a month). We did our I-130 in May 2022 and it got approved 3 days short of 1 year. We went to the NVC stage right away, we were documentarily qualified in the middle of June 2023....we have been stuck at the NVC since then, its been 9 months of waiting for the US Embassy in Manila to send an interview letter. At this point....we are stuck at the NVC stage...and there's a lot of people like me who are still waiting.
s9391 That's ridiculous. Hopefully you will get your appointment soon. I can just hope the embassy in Hong Kong won't take as long. I would rather not have her go back to the Philippines, especially if they have that kind of wait time.
@@bigdog6598 I say look into the wait time of Hong Kong, and if its shorter go there if its possible...If not, you'll be in the same boat like hundreds of people like me waiting in the Philippines. There are a lot of people who have been waiting for an interview since June of last year, some are May and April but majority are from June and later months of last year. Some people from March and April of last year just got their interview letter last night.
@@bigdog6598here is another tidbit of information that will really make you mad. The US embassy in Manila processed 320K non immigrant visa while they only processed 30K immigrant visa. A couple of months ago, January 2024, the US embassy in Manila only issued 4 CR1 visa. You read that right FOUR!!!!

This is such a BS process....when millions are walking across the border into the USA and given monthly checks and housing. And we who follow the legal process, must wait a year or more and jump through hoops. Just not fair. Nice video!!!
It was a very frustrating and very long wait. In the beginning, a lot of people I know, here, in the states told me to just have her come on a tourist visa and then marry her and file an Adjustment of status and she will be here in 4 months, but Gly and I both agreed we wanted to do everything the " right" way, so we filed the K-1. After you file, its nearly impossible to get them to allow her to even visit because shes allready shown intent to immigrate by filing the K-1, so we had to wait long periods between me visiting her over there, and all in all, the " right" way took us almost 2 years for her to finally get her visa, while everyday I watched illegals come right over and get rewarded for doing things illegally while those of us who did everything legally were punished. The system is definately broken.

I dont think we even checked CEAC after the interview. We chose to pick up our visa in major city, Davao, and it took about 5 days. Can take up to 10 days, otherwise.

Hello @gravillaester7632 This is Erik. Gly asked me to reply on how we did it all ourselves without a lawyer. The best advice I can give is on a resource that made it all so much easier for us. I found this website called VisaJourney.com and we created a free online registration there that gave us a monthly estimate on when we could expect our application to be accepted and it had a huge forum and community that answered all of our questions as we went. No matter what question we had, there were many others who ran into the same questions before us and I could easily search the forums to find the answers we needed along the way, and the absolute best part for me was that the website is 100% free. I never had to pay for access to anything there. I also spent a lot of time on you tube researching along the way even though sometimes the info on you tube was outdated or false. The process is a very expensive one to go through and a lawyer only adds another huge expense to it all. When you add that to the fact that the lawyer will make you do all the running and document collecting yourself anyway, it just didn't make sense to us to pay for an attorney as well.

The embassy page also states they want a DS-260 for a K-1 visa, when they will only accept a DS-160. You need an original NBI certificate or they will give you a Section 221(g) temporary refusal. You also need original police certificates from other nations where you have lived. If you search 221(g) images, you'll see a checklist of all the ways they can refuse you and all the remedies.

As long as they have a U S embassy in China, you have nothing to worry about. You should be ok :) We did all of our own paperwork and used visajourney.com anytime we had questions about anything in the forms. Its a completely free site and community of people who have gone through or are currently going through the immigration process. when we search their forums, we found other people all ready asked the same questions and we found the answers we needed.
You can do it. The US embassy interview is just a formality. It goes really fast and they are very friendly there. The CFO interview is the scary part, lol. You will be ok. :)

I'm trying to learn as much as I can so I can help my fiance prepare. The other 9 videos started off in perfect English and then randomly started switching between Tagalog and English. I understand that is how Filipinas speak, but the title is English, the description is in English, and the video starts off in English. Just frustrating when all I want to do is help her and can't understand what is being said.

Btw, if I may give you some inputs, when you have started the video by speaking in English, please don't mixed it with Tagalog or if you have difficulties in speaking English through out the video, translate it in English as running text before you upload the video. Therefore, non Filipina people who watch your video can understand what you are talking about and not understand it in half when you talk in English and wondering what you are talking about when you switch it to Tagalog and not providing its translation text. I agree. I joked with my wife that if she was from Mexico or South America she could just walk across the border and I would just pick her up.

You need an original NBI certificate or they will give you a Section 221(g) temporary refusal. You also need original police certificates from other nations where you have lived. If you search 221(g) images, you'll see a checklist of all the ways they can refuse you and all the remedies.

Not unless it was inbedded n the barcode.
I did not see it on my fiance appointment letter, I saw some on some examples and contacted ustraveldocs thru chat, and they updated it, and the interview appointment letter got the DS160 confirmation number on it.@@glianderik

As long as they have a U S embassy in China, you have nothing to worry about. You should be ok :) We did all of our own paperwork and used visajourney.com anytime we had questions about anything in the forms. Its a completely free site and community of people who have gone through or are currently going through the immigration process. when we search their forums, we found other people all ready asked the same questions and we found the answers we needed.

You can do it. The US embassy interview is just a formality. It goes really fast and they are very friendly there. The CFO interview is the scary part, lol. You will be ok. :)

I'm trying to learn as much as I can so I can help my fiance prepare. The other 9 videos started off in perfect English and then randomly started switching between Tagalog and English. I understand that is how Filipinas speak, but the title is English, the description is in English, and the video starts off in English. Just frustrating when all I want to do is help her and can't understand what is being said.
