I’m so glad you’re keeping ownership of the store. You’ve worked so hard to create such a unique storefront. I would hate for Edmonton to lose such a cool looking venue.
So excited you decided to not sell your store! When I started watching today, I thought, "Why don't Alex & Melissa keep the shop for income?" So am deff happy to hear you are! Such a beautiful job you hv done!
The store's restoration, and building of the new one looked like such a labor of love, I'm so happy to hear for now you'll keep ownership of them. Best wishes with the auctions.
Glad to hear you'll be able to have stable income from renting out the building! You put an interesting spin on whatever you're doing, so can't wait to see what comes next. Hang in there!
Ah, the big purge….. Good that it will be fast & furious, no time to linger on each item-just the few things you want to keep for the new house & chapter! May all the stuff find appreciative owners👍
Good to you sorting things out. Glad you're keeping the building for now. Gives much more flexibility moving forward. You guys sweated bullets over buying and developing that project. You added alot to the neighborhood and community. As landlords you can still be a part of that. Looking forward to watching the Evolution of Curiosity Inc. Hoping the big auction goes very BIG.
Alex you are such a classy man and very respectful. it's an honor to watch your channel. my Husband of 37 year's enjoys your content too. 🙏 many blessings to you and your Family ❤
Thumbs up on not selling the store. The revenue stream from the rental income will go a long way to secure the future for your family. Best wishes with the auction. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the entire Archbold clan and associates.
I'm glad that you are going to be renting out your store instead of selling it. You put so much time and energy into making a wonderful meeting spot for the community . I'm excited to see who the new tenants are. It sounds like your trademark humanitarian energy has attracted more of it.
Alex, L really enjoy your channel. I can be so tired when I sit down to restm that I am ready to cry. But part way into the video I find I am smiling and less tense. 🙂 I am happy that you have decided to keep the store building. It is unique. Good luck with the antique sale today. 😊😊😊
Alexander, so great to see your smiling face and I am happy that you have decided to keep the store and rent it out instead of selling. All good wishes to you and your family ☺️
You’ve looked so happy and like a weight is of your shoulders now that you’ve decided this for yourself. I’m so happy for you! It gives me dreams of a future with my own family and pursuing my own dreams
So glad you decided to keep ownership of the store . Best of luck moving in your new direction Alex . You are a lovely person and you will do well . They say , '' What goes around comes around '' , so I see only successes in your future .
What a great idea to keep the building for an income. If you want you can always sell it later. You look so relieved and relaxed. Even in all the chaos of this sale, you look happier than even a month or 2 ago.
You are successful in everything you do. Looking forward to your new adventures. Love that you always put your family first❤️You have a Beautiful Family, love watching your children growing up🥰
I know you’re doing what you need to do, but I’m so going to miss your shop. However, I’m also looking forward to the new adventures that I’m confident will be as interesting and fun as the old! Looking forward to that. Btw, your sons look so much like you, very nice looking and so well mannered. You guys have done an impressive job raising your children in this chaotic word.
I so relieved your not selling the store you put so much love & work into this build and to make sure it never gets redeveloped . I think not selling the store is exciting you never know what the years ahead will hold .Good source of income for many years ahead 💜
I had a gut feeling that you would retain the building which I was glad to hear. I always get nervous when you have the auctions with no reserve and I am even more nervous that the whole store contents is going up for sale. I truly hope that you get the numbers you would be happy with. I cannot say that I don’t have a sense of loss here because following you for so long this make me feel like a stranger in a strange land. I need to get used to this. I will always have your back with anything you decide to do and I hope everything you have going on brings you nothing but success.
feel the same way.I wish people would be more honest with Alexander.I'm really worried about him.I wish he and his family the best of everything, but some of these decisions seem to be made in haste. Stores everywhere have closed. If the new tenants don't do well he will be stuck paying upkeep and taxes for a building he's not using. He is the reason people came from far and near to meet him and the crew! Without his presence will people come to have a cone or a cup of coffee that now sells for $5.00 a cup and up?Worried about him to say the least.
Well, you have to be paying close attention to keep up with you, Alexander! Glad you are keeping the store and renting it out. Looking forward to hearing more about the newest developments.

Super duper Neat'O video Brother Alexander. Keep up Your Great work with Your Family and Business. Thanks always for sharing Your Adventures 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇨🇦🇺🇸🌎🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯
I am so glad that you are keeping the building. You did so much work on it , it would be a shame to see someone else changing it. Perhaps we will see it in the future?
I just love watching your progress as you’re the epitome of saying : follow your bliss! It’s so nice to have videos of people that live that way without even knowing they do!
I am happy to hear you will be keeping the store. That was my thought all along but since everyone has their own situations, I didn't say anything. You already own the building and the steady income would be security every month for you and your family. This way you don't HAVE to make a profit on your adventures because you will always have an income from the rent of the store. Good luck on the auctions! 🥰🥰🥰
So much hard work, but I can practically feel your excited energy! It's great to see that sparkle back. Fantastic that you are keeping ownership of the building. Perhaps you can hold future meet and greets there. Would be a wonderful way for people to still come in and see you and bring business to whoever rents the space!
I I know he said that this was the plan all along but he didn't go to all that trouble with building the second edition with plans to do a garage or patio out back, with the intent of closing. I know it's like Alex and Melissa to put a positive spin on it but it's also important to let people know that starting a business and making it work is very tough and while it was successful for a while the addition didn't pay off and financial trends made it difficult to keep up. It's great you can roll with the punches, but it's also important to understand the risk of starting a business and expanding. Of course I wish them well they will continue to thrive and the new chapter will be interesting to watch
I agree. And there’s nothing wrong with things not working out as planned. After all, nobody planned for a pandemic that shut things down and restricted travel and businesses so severely. He was able to withstand much longer than most which is a testament to his business acumen and his ability to connect with people and forge relationships with people and viewers online. No shame in that game. Then again, there are always the jerks who want to say “I told you so” about expansion, etc. The best thing about Alex is his eternal optimism. He may be down for a day or two, here and there, but he always looks for the bright spot and homes right in tight on it and steers in that direction. And he has the unique ability to change course when he sees a brighter spot revealed on the journey. So I applaud his choices and wish him nothing but success with his new plans, even though I selfishly fear it may mean less of what I like to see and watched for. It’s not about me. 💕💕
I agree also. Am worried with all the small and large businesses closing all around us ,wouldn't this have been the perfect time to sell a business? I wish all his supporters would wish him luck, but also give him some better advice.Time will tell and I sincerely wish him all the luck in the world.I will cheer him on in all his endeavors.God bless all they do.Good people!
He has said repeatedly that he was making money, the business was doing well but he was looking for a change in his daily lifestyle. While he was building the addition he talked about bringing in a company to run a coffee shop or ice cream store ultimately. I don’t understand your angle on this, can you explain more?
The addition did well, it was antique that didn't sell, plus the oversight view that the antique store was basically functioning as a warehouse. Add to this the anxiety of having and being surrounded by 1000s of things, just sitting there and only waiting for you to be dusted off or replaced to a different shelf, even I can feel the relief all the way over Canada and the Atlantic ocean in Western Europe. Redecorating and taking care of the stuff in your 'warehouse' also costs work, energy and time, to no avail, that's only energy lost. That being said, I agree with you to look at the other side of the coin and I thought the same, but about the antique store that basically failed, not the new stuff and addition. The least we can conclude is that the location wasn't suitable for an antique store. Whether the products would have been sold in a city center and/or in a city known for art, we don't know. I also don't think the pandemic has anything to do with it. Long story short, Alexander made the perfect decision and I am really glad and feel relieved too, but you are totally right imo about the other side of the coin. In the end he has lived his dream of having an antique store and now it's time to move on. I hope Alexander you will explain what happened or how things went with the step from selling to renting out. Cheers!
Good luck with everything! Smart decision to keep the building. I stumbled upon your channel about two months ago and have been eagerly watching all of your escapades whenever I can. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
Glad you are not selling the building for now. I think that is a good thing. You've put so much work into it too with the extension so at least you can still own it and have a steady income from it too. Very cool to get those running boards from the local lady for the truck.
@@donnababi5767 Yes. His show will continue. Just without the storefront. Still called Curiosity Inc. Doing picks, car restorations, hoarder houses, and whatever he wants to do.
I’m so excited for you guys and can’t wait to see how your auction goes and will definitely be checking it out see if there’s some thing I have to have ! 😁 i’ve been watching your channel since way back when you had the old store so it’s really interesting to watch all the changes and new chapters coming your way. I think it’s a brilliant idea to hang onto the building for rental income, it will only get more valuable as time goes on so if you ever want to sell it you will have that option down the line ! I am hoping you will take us to see the ice cream shop when it opens and whatever the main store becomes we will get to tour that as well with you !!
Isn't this a bad time to buy any business. ? Here in the mid-west all the stores are closed and have gone belly up.I hope he's not making a big mistake.
Alex I think it's a great choice on keeping the store for that extra revenue every month especially having 2 business's that are renting at the same time. I only see that store going up in value in the future.
Where did he say he was keeping ownership of the building? Near the beginning of the video he was talking about clearing it out my May 1 so he can sell it.
Have so enjoyed watching you the last few years since the Potters House, and love the direction you are going! So much more freedom for you, Melissa and the family…the ability to decide when, where, how you want to use your time and talents, it’s a great place to be in! Good for you, you’ve worked hard towards this goal! Take care of yourself and enjoy the journey Alexander…🥰
Hello Alex Happy Easter to you Melissa and your kids, please pass my love to them and I hope everything goes well for you.👍God Bless 🌺🌈❤️💖😊😘with lots of love and Easter hugs from my family to your family. Cheers from Edith in Australia 🇦🇺
Wish I had a passport! You will be sold out of everything in a day, Alexander! Thanks for the update. I did/do have an uncle Bob.:-) Is Easter Monday like boxing day? Never heard of it here in the US.
I’ve always just used it as a day to get things done. Stores may be closed or open for shorter hours. Makes for a nice longer weekend. Funny that Americans don’t have that.
Apparently you have made the right decision on retaining ownership of the building...you look way less stressed and more peaceful.....breathe child...you have worked too hard not too...happy you are in an better place...js..I adore you and family from afar...you are just good people which is rare thing these days...I wish peace, happiness and joy for you..js..you guys have earned it
Yeah, the owners of the retail space are the ones who dictate much of the price of the items sold inside. Spending all the money on the building and not capitalising it as a landlord would be a bad use of money.
After watching all the episodes of you buying the store and fixing it up, all the sweat and I’m sure some tears too, I am thrilled that you are keeping ownership of the building! We have watched you make decisions about the store and what you were doing for the community. You put so much of your soul into it. We would hate to to see anyone undo what you have done. Whatever lead you to this decision (looking forward to the update) I say “Hurray!” Wishing nothing but a bright future for you, Melissa and the family Alex! 🥳🥳🥳
I'm really glad you're not selling the shop. I hope you come back & do some videos when the ice cream shop opens. I was really looking forward to that. Good Luck!
I wish you the best in the sale of all your collection items and you get big bucks for all your hard work! You must be experiencing a 🎢 roller coaster feeling with emotions right now. Sad it's going and but happy to move on with you and Melissa's new life!! Well, I know I'm sticking around to see what you will be doing next!!!!! I really enjoy your channel!!! May God Bless you and your whole family!!!!! Love ya!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
Interesting! Keeping the store👍🥳. Great income source as a rental. Does this provide some relief regarding the exit deadline? So much inventory- maybe nice to take a little more time. However, knowing you will continue to sell items after you leave the store- maybe keeping some inventory is good. Either way, love the updates. Wishing you every happiness in your continued adventures!🥳👍👏👏
With renting out the newer half of the store I was wondering how it would work by selling, so it's good that you've changed and will rent the store out instead! Good luck with the upcoming sales! 💙🐾
Thank goodness your keeping the store and leasing it out!!!! I looked at Kastner for the little red piano, i couldn’t find it in “toys” I’ll have to look again I had one as a kid exactly like it lol
Just about everyone will have their opinion on what you should do. The decision that was made with you and your family so you can enjoy life even more is all that really matters. Not opinions.
So glad to hear that you’ve decided to keep the store and rent it out. You put so much time and love into it along with Hans, Josh and the rest of the crew, plus the way you fought for the extension. It would have been a shame to let it go for good and who knows maybe a few years down the line you’ll decide that you want to use part of it for a new adventure. In the meantime you’ll have a regular income which takes the pressure off you having to be out every day picking. Good luck and I’m looking forward to seeing how the future developes.
Boy oh boy, I hope the store will become a nice cozy café. If I'll ever be lucky enough to visit canada one day, I make sure to come over and have coffee and icecream in Edmonton. Good luck with the auction! There are some extremely nice pieces 🤩
I love the idea of the shop being a coffee shop on one side and the ice cream parlor on the other. Maybe the coffee shop will choose to continue to sell local items like the honey, tea, soaps, etc…. And maybe some of the kitschy kitchen items. Best of luck on the sale.
I’m so glad you’re keeping ownership of the store. You’ve worked so hard to create such a unique storefront. I would hate for Edmonton to lose such a cool looking venue.

@@Cate7451 Some people do good Friday and not a Monday.
Hes doing what he feels right for him and his family at this time...hes tired and it shows...js
When you start traveling more, it would be great to meet up with you if you make it to Southern California.
good luck, I've have been buying a few items from your auctions thru Kastners...looking forward to your next one...
Awesome hanging onto the store! Good luck with auction
Considering how much the auction house takes for selling your stuff it’s good to see them working for their money!! Best wishes Alex!
Hoping the sale goes well. 🤞
I'm so glad you're keeping that Gretsch. I used to have one of those, and they're sweet guitars.
I'm really glad you're not selling the shop. I hope you come back & do some videos when the ice cream shop opens. I was really looking forward to that. Good Luck!
So interesting. Alex, I’m sure you feel more emotional now than with your other auctions. You are a legend… blessings to you and your family 🤗🤗🤗
Love ya!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
wishing you all the best in the future ❤️🏴
Interesting! Keeping the store👍🥳. Great income source as a rental. Does this provide some relief regarding the exit deadline? So much inventory- maybe nice to take a little more time. However, knowing you will continue to sell items after you leave the store- maybe keeping some inventory is good. Either way, love the updates. Wishing you every happiness in your continued adventures!🥳👍👏👏
Good job in keeping the building Alex. The first rule of Real Estate is never to sell an investment.
With renting out the newer half of the store I was wondering how it would work by selling, so it's good that you've changed and will rent the store out instead! Good luck with the upcoming sales! 💙🐾
Thank goodness your keeping the store and leasing it out!!!! I looked at Kastner for the little red piano, i couldn’t find it in “toys” I’ll have to look again
I had one as a kid exactly like it lol
I’m so happy you are keeping ownership of your building..
Your choices have never let you down, so far, so I'm sure things will go well. Praying for a good Auction.
Happy for you all!
Do what you have to do then do what you want to do 😃 I will still be here watching 👀 😉
Glad you are going to rent instead of selling. Looking forward to seeing what is going to happen there. 🙂
Hope all goes well good luck 🍀💐🤗☕🍰
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Good luck with the auction.
Great progress. All signed up to browse the auction as soon as the items are posted to see. Surely there'll be great things to grab!
Probably bitter sweet? Good luck on the auctions. Love you & your family. Can't wait to see the move in & the house done.
Just about everyone will have their opinion on what you should do. The decision that was made with you and your family so you can enjoy life even more is all that really matters. Not opinions.
Can't wait!
It must be bittersweet to close the store front; best of luck for the future! Great idea to keep the building!
I am so pleased you are retaining ownership after putting so much time, effort and money into the buildings.
Going to miss seeing you at the store, keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them
So glad to hear that you’ve decided to keep the store and rent it out.
Best of luck on the sale.
so sad to see the store go but kinda happy for u all
Good things happen. I’m excited for the auction. ♥️
Oh good! I think renting it out is an excellent idea!
Thanks Alex!
