The section of 129/19 in the first part of the video is "Blood Mountain".
Wolf Pen is one of the more technical runs up here.
Funny how you mentioned the spot after the second horseshoe about going down there equating to a bad day. That is "exit 2" and we'll known for impromptu offroad excursions. There is a video on my channel of a crash there during a tonnit group ride several months ago.

Been there many times. Pretty 129 curves are dramatically leaning too. Wolf Pen Gap is pretty squirrely.

Good times and thanks for sharing. Living in north metro ATL, I can be there in under 2 hours. Over the Lake Lanier Dam, onto Hwy 9 and into Dalonaga with Hwy 19 that takes you up to Hwy 60 over the mountain and into Suches, then a right onto Wolfpen Gap Rd. Sometimes I'll hang the left, go north on 129 and ride the Richard Russell (another fantastic road). Other times it's south and head down Blood Mountain for a quick fix and get back home for lunch and the honeydew list. 😜

Mike, great video! Hwy 129 leaving Turner’s Corner up to Neal’s Gap would be more considered Blood Mountain rd. The Appalachian Trail crosses at Neal’s Gap and heads West to the top of Blood Mountain. Leaving Helen on Hwy 348 (Richard Russell Scenic Hwy) is also an incredible ride with great views at the top. You really can’t go wrong in that area! Note: the last descent you cut to in the video actually was Woody Gap. That’s a great road especially since they repaved. Keep up the awesome videos!
