- On november 29 2013 THE MAGIC BAND gave a fantastic concert in De Nor in Heerlen (Holland), playing compositions of Captain Beefheart aka Don van Vliet. I already uploaded 3 tracks here on You Tube that I filmed during that gig. In this clip you can see the remaining 10 songs that I was able to film that night. Hope you like it.

I saw The Captain many times in late 60's-early 70's. Always entertaining, always a lot off-center, and always a tight band. The Magic Band, today, is very tight, very representative of The Captain's vision. Half of these guys were there back then, and they know this stuff. And it's good stuff. The first song I taught my kids back in 1979 was Hobo Chang Ba. My wife was only marginally amused. Still my wife, love her still, but some folks just don't get it.
