As a teen in the 80's...Vixen was pretty big!! They were also a big crush for alot of guys!! My crush was on the lead guitarist!! Keep up the great reactions Brothers!!🤙
I would pick any one of them back then your right though I had the hots for them as well just fact they played music I so wanted to be a groupie of theirs 😋😋😋😋😋
Vixen came onto the scene in 1989, past Joan Jett's, Benatar, and Heart's prime. They shared the female rock scene with Lita Ford and Doro (Warlock) at that time. Roxy Petrucci, the drummer, is the last remaining original member and they still tour to this day. Guitarist Jan K. passed away several years ago of cancer.
I was a teenager when this song came out, along with the video. I was in love with the guitar player lol. I mean when you see girls this hot when you're a teen, you couldn't help but fall in love with girls.
@@davidpalahinjak8954 I also mentioned the Bangles, but that didn't show up. You said all girl rock or hard rock. Both are rock bands that sold more albums than Vixen. Now, you can certainly tighten up the categories as much as you want. They're certainly the only 4 or more piece all female glam metal band from St. Paul that sold over a million albums in the 1980s.
I'll be honest with you: I NEVER heard Vixen on the radio, or ever saw them on MTv, when I was a teen in the 80s. Lita Ford? Heart? Pat Benatar? Berlin? Missing Persons? Rossington-Collins Band? Patti Smyth? Sure (even though they were not all-female groups...or singers with a backup band). I've heard all those and more.
yes they were big back then there still going today the drummer is the only one left in the band the singer retired and the lead guitar player passed away and bass player runs a beutishop and is another band !!.
Nice Review! As a teenager in the 80s, Vixen was really the first all girl (in US) that was mainstream. Yes, you had female rockers, like Pat B, Lita Ford, etc., but not many all girl bands, not saying there wasn't any but most had a different following, like Phantom Blue, Meanstreak, Wench. I remember an article and Janet saying that a girl thought she was like the " Jem Doll" Seriously, look it up, it's weird. Song was written by Richard Marx (guy in video that was surprised) and Fee Waybill, of The Tubes. There also was a another edit of the video without the laced arms and hands. RIP Jan K. ( guitarist )
they were quite big here in the uk, must have seen them about 9 times in the 90s here seemed that ever festival or rock concert we went to they were a support act they rocked, other than the others you mentioned girlschool were big here and had a big hit duet with motorhead please dont touch under the name of headgirl, also 80s wise lita ford, the runaways and warlock, plus some good pop rock, the go gos, blondie, the pretenders, fuzzbox and the bangles who were huge worldwide hazy shade of winter rocks
Love Vixen and they are still going strong, but sadly without the leadguitarist Jan Kuehnemund who died in 2013. I remember their hair, clothes, makeup..everything. Amazing times. You should also check out Lita Ford who was in the Runaways with Joan Jett. Lita was the ultimative rock goddess. She had several great hits and also still going strong today. She also has a cool song together with Ozzy. Kiss me deadly. Close my eyes forever. (with Ozzy) Shot of poison. Falling in and out of Love (written by Nikki Sixx. They had a 2 year relationship) Hope you check it out.
They were all over MTV for awhile but Lita Ford was the shit to me!!! Lita was rocker just as hard as the guys in glam metal maybe harder!!! She has lots of great music 🎶 you should gave her a try!!!
For a brief period of time in 1989 Vixen was pretty popular. However, when compared to other female rockers such as Heart, Lita Ford, Joan Jett, or Pat Benatar, they didn't have the same staying power. That's not to say that they didn't have good music. I for one love their music. It's just saying that they didn't have the overall success as other female rockers had in the 80s
How have you guys not reacted to "Nelson" yet? They are twins! "Love and affection"... that's their song. Killer channel. Upload more gentleman! I'm in.
They had some catchy songs man they just needed a little more edge or hardness they were like labelled hard rock or even hair metal . Good singers though.
Yup there aren't many bands that were 100% female - I can only think of Phantom Blue and The Runaways who were both 100% female members. Heart only has 2 females in a group that's normally 5 members; Joan Jett and Pat Benatar are both solo artists

The only blonde guitarist that stole my heart in the 80’s was Nancy Wilson of Heart.
I've always preferred brunettes to blondes, so I had a huge crush on the drummer Roxy Petrucci.

Crying is a good one too
…..and RIP to the lovely Jan Kuehnemund (lead guitar)…💔💔💔💔💔💔
Vixen was the only all-girl rock or hard rock band to sell more than one million albums in the 1980's! 😎🔥🤘🎸
I don't think the Go-Go's would agree, either.
@@jr2375 Go-Go's aren't Hard Rock!

Nice Song!
So good!
Vixen were good musicians...Roxy(drummer) was in the band Madam X back in the day...R.I.P Jan
FYI - Vixen has been touring with Stryper as of late. Great shows and worth going to.
Fire!!
check out the video for "Love Made Me" probably their hardest rocking song. That song has a SERIOUS in-your-face guitar solo!
Great song. 👍
Banger! 😎🔥🤘🎸
there was also Girlschool, Phantom Blue, Precious Metal, MeanStreak, the Donnas-but the music business was not friendly to female rockers.
They appeared in "Hard Bodies", a sex comedy movie in 1984. 🍾👠 Great reaction to a KILLER song!🎸🎸

Former Sunshine Girl in the 80s in the Toronto Sun as well.
The guy at the 3:36 mark is Richard Marx. He wrote this song for Vixen.

Female singer -- check out Doro
The editing swipe with the arm. NO, that was not unsual or ground breaking. It was normal.
Do some Upchurch... Pond creek road...he watches reaction videos he may subscribe to you guys..

One of many 80s one hit wonder metal bands... short life span compared to Heart
