I have always respected Ryu's skill players
There are characters like Ryu, wich have to put in honest training, work and effort in order to deal massive damage on punish.
Then there's characters like Zangief, who just need to press their cheesy little EX Grab on punish and deal 1/3 of a healthbar basically for free.

as is the nature of the dp game, is it always reaction or reads or random? bit of everything I think. thats why some of the stuff daigo used to do is so insane because it looked alot like it was 100% read

To me Ryu has always been an embodiment of a dedicated Warrior and Street Fighter like its core. Its Ryu players like this one that truly make Street Fighter great through their tremendous investment and promotion of the game!

Ryu is easy to use, but difficult to master. He's nearly always mid-tier.

With Ryu's power it doesn't matter what tier he will always be a tough out for anybody who knows how to use him. Honestly the tier system on these characters is a bit overrated

To most pro players Modern isn't "really" playing the game.
@@DrClawizdeadno not really. The general sentiment is that Modern is good for specific characters but other characters lose out on key normals making it sub optimal. And switching from Classic to Modern after years of Classic can be hard to get used to.
its literally to let new players be able to have fun, the fact that pros are using it on specific characters but not most characters means the balance is wrong and they know they get an advantage doing it. dee jay isnt one of them. modern is fine but they need to tune it or cpt is going to top 8s with 5 modern lukes and 3 classic guiles every tournament.
U want to win with ryu, dont make a single mistake.
Maybe it's just me but I've noticed most people when their opponent(p2) is burned out, they(p1) start to play super safe. I'm not sure why, but personally I try to be mad disrespectful, at the very least they're still going to take chip damage in burnout, especially if I have the life lead.
Street fighter V was the only time i held no respect for ryu players or the character

Ryu is basic as hell in this game. Same moves from SF2. Even Daigo has acknowledged this
