- Willistead Manor, one of the City of Windsor’s most fascinating historic buildings, was built between 1904 and 1906 by Edward Chandler Walker, son of world-renowned whisky distiller Hiram Walker, and Edward’s wife, Mary. The Walker’s lived in the mansion only a short time, with the Walker Family gifting the home to the Town of Walkerville shortly after Edward’s death. Set against the backdrop of a quest to acquire a long lost portrait of Edward Walker, Walkerville’s Willistead Manor: The Home That Shaped A Community takes a deep dive into Hiram Walker, the Walker Family and Legacy, the Walker businesses and community impacts, prohibition and rum-running, the formation of Walkerville, Edward and Mary Walker’s great love story, the construction of the magnificent Willistead Manor, and much more.

My mom was born down the street from there in 1910. Her Brownies group met there. I played on the kid's outdoor toy. When it was a library, I borrowed books. My parents went to receptions and parties there. As well Mom took art lessons at the carriage house. This was where in 2000 her funeral reception was held. So much more have a great day.
We had our wedding reception at Willistead! Glad you guys are doing this!
Is there a full length film? I’d love to get to watch it if so.
I grew up across Richmond St. from Manor, in Edgewood Manor. Such a beautiful place, I'm happy to see you've taken the initiative in sharing it's story in such a wonderful way! I'm hoping you see much success!
Is there any way to get the whole documentary film to show at my church?
Went there every day in the summer when the library was housed there.
