If they can masterfully write such trope, then it's acceptable. However, if it's a halfassed, forcefully implemented for the sake of it, then no thank you. Thankfully PMoon is one of the rare companies that have passionate and competent writers.

Genuinely one of the coolest reveals so far in all the Cantos, I came in expecting nothing and now I'm awestruck by just how amazing the story is so far!
If I have it right, after The Dream's Ending there's Hong Lu where we find out what trauma lead to him not even flinching to having acid poured on him, N Corp and how it rendered Meursault little more than a brick wall and Ryoshu's connection to the fingers, PLURAL.
I loved how the "alternative" Heathcliff isn't some badass psychopathic villain, but instead an emotional and, probably, a severely depressed person trying to get revenge on himself and all the people associated with the Cathy's death

honestly the concept of fighting heath wasn't really that special, but the execution, the VA, the background, the story, the in-game mechanics, the cutscenes all work together to make this such a memorable and legendary fight. AND WE HAVEN'T HIT THE CLIMAX YET. PM IS DRIVING OFF THE CLIFF
The way it mirrors the original piece as well and how the entire Mirror World is complemented by the book really well IS PEAK OVERLOAD THAT THIS SHIT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL
We aren't just fighting a parallel Heathcliff, we are fighting what this basically the ORIGINAL heathcliff from the book. The one who has no chance of redemption and is, alongside Hindley, truly a despicable and pathetic man.

This canto drove me to near distortion but my god the rush when winning some of these fights is real. I seriously hope they never spam +sp on turn 1 encounters again, it's just brain destroying.
Gah, it's here too. There's a small *pop* at 0:28 that I keep hearing from in-game audio too. Sounds like it's straight up damaged audio from the file that went into the game in the first place. I've been trying to clean it out of the track but it's been much more obstinate than similar cases of damaged audio I've been able to fix up in Audacity in the past. Driving me absolutely bonkers, I swear.
My artistic brain was going crazy thinking of the fight choreography that could go with this song. One part was (???)Heathcliff in the envy shield would hit Ishmael leaving a nail stick inside her arm, Faust would rip that nail out of her arm and the tiny nail would be morphed into the Hex Nail Ego. To break the shield. The second one would be Hong Lu and Rodian comboing as the Dieci with a twist on Ryoshu as Liu. It would be Hong Lu taking the clashes with Rodian takes the hit so Ryoshu can attack. Rodian would be the most grounded, Hong Lu would take the air, and Ryoshu would weave between the 2 to exploit openings. The final one is would be the set up to Heathcliff doing his Envy - Wraith Ego. Rabbit Healthcliff gets staggered and the 2 people that save him are Sinclair and Don Quixote. I would say N-corp Sinclair but that doesn't make sense since kid would be too insane to help so Blade Lineage would have to be the next in line. Don Quixote would be Cinq and throw her glove to give a split second of an opening to push back (???)Heath. Sinclair is the one to take the opening and give Don the extra few seconds to push (???)Heath. Allowing for Sinclair to Claim Their Bones. Now that a straight path for Heath to use has been made, Heath uses the Ego. You can imagine Sinclair facing away from Heathcliff as Heath dashes forward. *Noteable mentions Outis dying Blind firing with Der's gun for first stagger but killing Gregor Ishmael uses Flaming Moth to at least show a Wraith Ego. Mersualt carrying Outis out of harms way. He'd be like the friendly tank. A quick, magic circle like flash in the shape of Dante's clock to repair a broken limb. Yi sang could also take Sinclair's or Don's place but after seeing Those 2 blondes be in heaven with Heath's glow up, I knew it had to be those 2.

you don't have to bring six sinners!!!!!!! my easiest run of ricardo was dieci rodya sunshower heathcliff and lccb ishmael!!!! rodya was level 40 and a support!!! heath and ishie were level 30!!!
dont try to force yourself on using 6 member team I was also stuck on ricardo at the time when he dropped and tried solo liu ishmael, got very close but rng fucked me up so had to change the strat then I added nclair beside her and it became piece of cake. because of slot gaining sometimes using few strong ids make wonders and ricardos stage just strenghtens this more with first 2 turns working as prepare time and grunt enemies are blunt weak. if you dont have any or one of them you can add me. (also dont forget to level your ids up to max, I just wasted 2 hours on canto 6 part 2 last boss because of my stubbornnes and trying to pass the stage without level 45 ids (they were 40) after leveling them up boss didnt even have any diffculty left in them)
just use base ishmael and a borrowed nclair with uptied lantern (this is a very specific nclair btw, fgeel free to borrow) what you want to do, across every single wave, block all attacks targetting nclair using ishmael's defense, and by wave 2, dont use skill 3 (or the wrath attack) and save it for ricardo. When you get to ricardo, block all attacks until he reaches his 2 slot attack pattern (which is 2-3 turns into the fight) and nuke him using 3 of them reds if you're lucky. MAKE SURE TO HIT TAILS ON EVERY SINGLE SKILL 3 COIN OR YOU'RE FUCKED. you're welcome!
Heathcliff kills heathcliff, and in turn, there will be another heathcliff killing heathcliff in the endless strands of possibilities in which heathcliff kills heathcliff.
I personally used the Queequeg Heathcliff, since he's the bulkiest Heath ID and literally benefits from being wounded. Just remember to have some healing on you, like Faust's Fluid Sac or Meursault's Pursuance - even Queeqliff is far from immortal.

you don't have to bring six sinners!!!!!!! my easiest run of ricardo was dieci rodya sunshower heathcliff and lccb ishmael!!!! rodya was level 40 and a support!!! heath and ishie were level 30!!!
dont try to force yourself on using 6 member team I was also stuck on ricardo at the time when he dropped and tried solo liu ishmael, got very close but rng fucked me up so had to change the strat then I added nclair beside her and it became piece of cake. because of slot gaining sometimes using few strong ids make wonders and ricardos stage just strenghtens this more with first 2 turns working as prepare time and grunt enemies are blunt weak. if you dont have any or one of them you can add me. (also dont forget to level your ids up to max, I just wasted 2 hours on canto 6 part 2 last boss because of my stubbornnes and trying to pass the stage without level 45 ids (they were 40) after leveling them up boss didnt even have any diffculty left in them)
just use base ishmael and a borrowed nclair with uptied lantern (this is a very specific nclair btw, fgeel free to borrow)
what you want to do, across every single wave, block all attacks targetting nclair using ishmael's defense, and by wave 2, dont use skill 3 (or the wrath attack) and save it for ricardo. When you get to ricardo, block all attacks until he reaches his 2 slot attack pattern (which is 2-3 turns into the fight) and nuke him using 3 of them reds if you're lucky. MAKE SURE TO HIT TAILS ON EVERY SINGLE SKILL 3 COIN OR YOU'RE FUCKED. you're welcome!

I won with R corp Heathcliff. Didn't understand the boss gimmicks so took me a few tries, but I did it.
I personally used the Queequeg Heathcliff, since he's the bulkiest Heath ID and literally benefits from being wounded. Just remember to have some healing on you, like Faust's Fluid Sac or Meursault's Pursuance - even Queeqliff is far from immortal.
