  • Our M18™ SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer delivers the industry’s first interchangeable tank design with no manual pumping. Designed to meet the needs of professional landscape maintenance, the battery-powered backpack sprayer delivers instant, constant and adjustable pressure up to 120 PSI and a 25 ft spray distance. The 5-mode pressure adjustment knob adjusts the pressure between 20 - 120 PSI for a wide range of applications. The M18™ REDLITHIUM™ XC3.0 Battery provides up to 12 tanks of spraying per charge. The sprayer has a dual diaphragm pump for longer pump life and Viton® seals for increased durability against harsh chemicals. The sprayer tank has a wide mouth opening for easier pouring and a strainer that filters debris from getting into the tank. The backpack frame has wide straps for added comfort during extended spraying applications and a handle for convenient transport and storage.
The 4-gallon sprayer is made up of two components - the M18™ SWITCH TANK™ Powered Base and the SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Sprayer Tank Assembly. The Powered Base includes the motor, battery compartment, and REDLINK™ electronics. The interchangeable Tank Assembly includes the pump, hose, and wand. The isolated pump, hose, and wand design allows different tank assemblies to be added for different spraying applications, eliminating cross-chemical contamination. It also allows the tank assembly to be replaced at a lower cost of ownership compared to replacing the entire sprayer. The Powered Base is compatible with the SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Concrete Sprayer (49-16-28CS) and 4-Gallon Water Supply (49-16-28WS) Tank Assemblies. The M18™ SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer is part of the M18™ system which is fully compatible with over 175 tools.

I am a huge Milwaukee Fan, but disappointed with my purchase of this spray after a few months, then I discovered a video on how to clean the internal screen filter on the pickup tube. It is a simple repair and the sprayer performs amazingly well. Another Great Milwaukee tool it just needs a big label on the tanks saying clean the internal filter.

For the $300 price tag, this thing should be a sprayer and a pressure washer.

Just used one. It works well.
Overall it's 100% better than pump spraying. I got the lawn done in about 1/3 of the time.
On high it's a bit loud maybe 70dB. Other settings are very quiet.
The spray pattern with fan tip is good. The gpm is good and even.
It does leave about 1L or 0.25gal left in the sprayer at the end which is a bit annoying. Aka: you'll have to find a dumping spot for pestacides and other chemicals. I tried just adding more water and spraying over some sections - we shall see. Also my wand does not stick to the green top. Would be nice if it snapped in. If you put the handle part of the wand close to the snap-in part it will stay on longer.
I do wish there was an agitator of some kind. I try to spin a paint mixer inside the tank, but it's tricky not to hit stuff. Paint mixers have helped me mix chemicals so much more evenly over the years though so I feel like I need it - the results are night and day without mixing.

Thank you. Been asking/praying for this for a few years now. One more Mwk tool for the garden, and probably will be the most used (hoping to produce enough for selling this year). My only possible concern, is the extra cost associated with each tank having its own wand. I will only be spraying solutions that could be mixed, and I would prefer to keep them in separate jugs, but don't care about contamination in the wand (like the Ryobi 1/2 gallon guy, that you can get more jugs for).
Thanks again! Now on to pruners powered by a M12 or M18 pack, maybe tethered for hand pruners, but also have a pole pruner. I'd be happy to sell them in a booth at the next Great Lakes Expo! You would see them all over fruit orchards if you come out with them.

Looks like something I'll have to add to my stable of Red tools. Question I have is can it be used to spray brine for snow/ice control?

      Hello Christopher,
Our Milwaukee® M18™ SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer is meant to be used with pesticides, selective herbicides, non-selective herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers, not flammable liquids.

You dont eliminate cross contamination because there will b residue in pump hoses even after flushing.

      It's expensive...
2820-21WS - Water supply Switch Tank system: $439 ($164 tank only)
      2820-21CS - Concrete sprayer: $439 ($164 tank only)
2820-21PS - Pesticide sprayer: $399 ($149 tank only, $299 power base and tank)

@@prinze6969 Yeah that is a bit high. But really $299 for tool only isn't too bad. I was thinking $249, maybe $199 or $149. Get you hooked on it for cheap knowing you'll keep coming back to buy tanks. It will be a good deal when on sale.

I would love to know what Milwaukee’s gonna do with their huge problem they have with manufacturing on these. I’m getting a lot of comments on other switch tank videos about people with leaking tanks right out of the box. People getting chemicals all over their backs all over driveways! What is Milwaukee going to do about this?!!!

Is this able to spray surface retardar?? The pink stuff that you mix 50/50 with water. We have to use a special pump for it because regular pump sprayers get clogged.

Just drove an hour to get to a Home Depot right before close to have this tomorrow morning. Get it home, decided to open it up and check it out. The tank is cracked out of the box. Leaked chemicals all over my building!!! Had it sitting on my Milwaukee pack out too, so I didn’t have to bend over to put it on.

THIS IS ALL I HAVE......a RUclips comment section that I’m sure Milwaukee doesn’t give a hoot about. $300. Cracked. Took me 20 mins to clean up the mess. To say I’m upset right now
    Doesn’t cover it. 😡😡😡
