Very cool box and the sounds are sometimes pretty crazy. I can imagine nice experiments, especially with triggering signals to the tempo input on the grind like you do the 101 via exrl clk 😃😃 Unfortunately I wasn't there with the first orderers so I have to wait but I'm looking forward to a video where someone does it.
It’s isolated in the filter section, but in general it’s on every Moog, loads of analog synths and eurorack modules and probably on every virtual analog synth. I’m sure they all have the 24dB setting which is normally based on the Moog ladder filter. It’ll be on all stock DAW plugins.
So it's like a microfreak with less modulation options and no paraphony, but with a better filter. It'll never achieve the modulation depth a microfreak has by itself, even if you use outside modular equipment in the loop due to how the source/destinations work in the microfreak matrix VS the grind. That being said - added oscillator types are cool, although of course no sample or granular like MF has. Also, INCREDIBLY limited LFO options. All this really makes me want to do is put a ladder filter into the microfreak :) It's got big shoes to fill, and although it's not trying to fill them necessarily it's hard not to make comparisons. If the microfreak didn't exist I would be greatly tempted to get this. Right now my Micro/Minifreak and MicroMonsta 2 are keeping me very happy. I'm sensing a pattern here 😅

@@d3tuned378 I had a microfreak and have a grind and never got on great with the microfreak but 100% admit it’s amazing synth but the grind -oh my ! And even without patching it sounds great
If you’re in ‘Two Analogue Oscillators’ mode and switch to High Pass Filter, does the filter sweep properly? I just got mine and it seems to have the HP filter sound plus another oscillator that bypasses the filter straight to VCA 😕
The oscillator feeds into the filter so I'm not sure what you're describing is possible. If you're hearing the HP sound plus another you're probably not doing quite what you think. It can be confusing at times, especially when you first get your hands on it. Plaits had me baffled for a while. ... but it definitely can't split the signal coming from the oscillator, unless you're listening to more than one output.
I know what you mean! Output 1 should go into the VCF by default but it’s not, even if I hard patch it there. Will post an update if it’s really not just me 😅 LP filter mode works as expected!
@ Re the HPF on the Grind: Andertons have just confirmed that they can recreate the issue on their demo unit. Namely that closing the HPF by turning it to the right does not remove all the sound. They were philosophical and said it was part of the design, but I think it’s a malfunction. Might be worth mentioning to your audience if you can recreate it too?
Hi, Starsky. Excellent as ever, where did you get the waveform listing form . I have tried online . I thouht may have been included in the box. Cheers, oh yes i got one.
Was looking at the Crave and the Model 15 the past month and then this drops. I've been wanting to dip my toes into hardware. Have Pigments, V Collection X, NI Komplete 15, and the Moog soft synth offerings(Mini/15). Love them all but the computer interfacing with 8 knobs on my Kontrol MK3 or the 8 knobs and 8 faders on my Keylab61 mk1 just doesn't scratch the itch, as tightly integrated as they are. Back early '02 I came into possession of a Moog Opus 3 and the tactical feel is just missing, the quirks and all. Still leaning towards the analog dual oscillator vs 24 digital. Seems like I'd kind of be stepping right into compromise again. IF I get a new run Model 15 is that going to take me the furthest with analog, learn hardware sequencing and get the I dream of wires thing going on too.
They’ll both give you the I dream of wires experience. I’d be more tempted with the model15 from that perspective as if you decide to expand it can be placed in you eurorack and incorporated into a larger setup. This will work with eurorack but can’t be put in the enclosure. For sound design this is more flexible. So another hard choice!
Between my Hydrasynth and Microfreak, I think I have these sounds covered. But if I didn't, I'd be buying one of these. Too bad it's monophonic though.
