Here's Christian telling you how to size Red Wings properly: ruclips.net/video/bon8Whv3TGo/видео.html And more from this series of NYC visits! ruclips.net/video/fmjjlXIQsnU/видео.html
The Traction Tred Lite's are absolutely amazing everyday work boots. I love my rangers but I enjoy them more after a hard day has passed and it's time to relax.
Red Wing are one of those brands I kind of "skipped over" with boots - I went from really crap stuff by Carolina to White's without stopping in the middle, and sort of haven't looked back. But, I've really been digging the looks of the slate Iron Rangers and may have to grab a pair. I wonder if there are any plans to do this model in the wide width?
I think the roughout iron rangers - like the Hawthorne muleskinner ones too - are SUPER cool. Hard to get wide IRs but maybe size up? They’re pretty roomy
@@Stridewise yeah, those have always been on my radar but the slate look even cooler (plus I don't have anything in that sort of shade in my collection). I have really dumb brick-shaped feet so sizing up doesn't really work out for me unless I want ridiculously over-long shoes...which I think would be particularly unfortunate with the "clown shoe" IR. I'll wait and see if they do them in wide!
Christian, if you are reading this, can you please ask the powers that be why I can't get Iron Rangers in 13EE in the UK. No retailers here can get supplies and when I contact Red Wing they don't have the decency to reply.
not practical for most boot brands but seriously nothing like a brick and mortar store where you can try on the thing before buying and RW has 3-4 stores between 5 and 50 miles from where i live.
If you like Red Wing, I think you should buy new Red Wings. Because the desirable heritage boots can cost almost as much used on EBay as new boots from the Red Wing store. I'm looking at a pair of Merchants that would be almost $340.
@@Stridewise It's also hard to find Iron Rangers and Blacksmiths under $250. Even people trying to sell their Red Wings aren't trying very hard. They must be pretty good to hold their value so well.
i don't know but it would be more ridiculous than visiting the ones in the city i live in! i'm trying to visit all the boot factories in the USA though - Rancourt's is coming up!
The heritage rangers and blacksmith are pretty good quality, I don't see myself ever having to buy another pair of work/all around boots. Unless senile Joe take us to war against Russia which seems he just did today.

@@K8TO88 True, maybe they could talk about the Red Wing Pecos boot though.

you know i thought i wouldn't because i didn't think they had a very big selection but I'm on their site and realizing I was wrong, I should go there!
@@Stridewise I’m too broke to go in there but you can be my secret agent to see what’s inside 🤣

Any idea if Red Wing are going to put the white traction thread sole on a black Iron Ranger ?The vibram mini lug sole can be a bit harsh at times..
Doubtful unless they bring back the iron ranger traction tred in black - but you can always resole!

to be fair Merchants are discontinued/rare so it'd make sense they cost more now!

“Platonic ideal…”. Quote of the day, week, month.
come for the boots, stay for the Athenian philosophy
Nick, little birdie told me that you divided this shot into two videos
oh no, someone figured out the dirty little secret!!!
Would it be a ridiculous idea to travel the vaunted boot shops around the USA?

What is the best NYC boot store that carries RM Williams boots?
That would be RM Williams! Got a store in Soho

Well I'd bet they'd last a hypothetical war
