'chapeau Michael' and well done. I've done the sportive myself. I know the pain that you endured but I also know that tremendous sense of acheivement that you can now hold onto.
It was cold indeed. I had 3 jerseys, a windbreaker, a cap under my helmet and long--fingered gloves on the descents, but it was still much better than 2 years ago when it was 30-40 degrees for most of the day.
Yes I heard 2015 was a scorcher. I had a few friends who were participating. ps. I had my own pitstops and changed clothes on the top of Galibier. Still it was cold in the beginning of the decent.
Thanks Michael, you too. I didn't finish my first Marmotte either in 2011 but I've finished the last 6 years. This was the fastest yet but still no gold time :)
Thanks Sjoerd! Good luck with your ride :) I used the "Garmin Virb edit" software, since I could not get GoPro's "Dashware" to function in my PC any longer. Virb edit is quite good.
Double batteries on the Hero2 and I only turned on the camera for about 3 hours in total, as I reached the top of a climb, and during the descents, so had it turned off most of the time.
Thanks Yury, I prefer the rear view because seeing the faces of people you ride with is so much interesting than looking at their backsides. I’ve never seen a cycling video that I liked that filmed forward but if you have an example I would love to watch it.
Kul att se loppet och vägarna där, fantastiska vyer och cykling.

Nice video. It was cold on the top of the mountains this year. Glandon was all in fog and at Galibier it was quite windy.

Mark Kubach can you store warmers kit on top of each summit for the descent phases? Is that what you mean?
Congratulations on finishing. I didnt expect to see myself in the video but there i am at 6 minutes 34 at the Glandon feed stop
The benefits of a rear facing camera :) 9:19 Well done!

Congrats finishing! Next year I’ll be there 2. What software do you use? I like the speed/watts/rpm info in this video.

Nice video :-) nice race. I was there
8:24 Well done!
Where do people usually stay before the ride?
Le Bourges-d'Oisans is probably the first choice, and then on the top of Alpe-d'Huez. We stayed in Venosc about 12km from the start...
How do you get the GoPro to last that long filming?
Double batteries on the Hero2 and I only turned on the camera for about 3 hours in total, as I reached the top of a climb, and during the descents, so had it turned off most of the time.
Cool, nice effort by the way, La Marmotte is my aim for next year.
Good luck!
Congrats 4 finishing. Why do you have the large view to the back, it's really waste. Better front view Large image

Michael Gehrisch actually that's not à bad reason at all.
