Beautiful unit and great review! I do have one question, is there a way to give the strobe a more smooth and natural look? The choppy 3 steps doesn't tickle my fancy. Otherwise a gorgeous locomtoive!
This is a nicely done model, however; two issues. The sanding lines are a big disappointment. Mine stuck out at a 90 degree angle from the trucks. The biggest problem is the all weather window. It is the wrong casting and was only silver on the 3000 series or the low 100 series when renumbered. The remaining SD40-2 fleet had black all weather windows. I know, nitpicking to the extreme; but for what your paying for why can't they get it right? I mean it has the correct end railings, jack pads, bolt on sign plates, etc... I looked at replacing the all weather windows with the correct casting. After reviewing the construction of the model I returned them as there was no way I could replace the all weather window without wrecking the cab. Another close but no cigar Milwaukee model.
