I've seen Scotch Egg as a starter, but not seen a sherry trifle on a pub menu since in 1979!

In both Edinburgh and St Andrews we saw scotch eggs on the menus.

Did you give them a try?

@@TomandDomTravel No but wish I would have. We are on a cruise in Oct from NY, through New England, to Halifax. In looking at restaurants in Halifax it appears scotch eggs are common so I will be sure to try them this time.

It is amazing how the backdrop for Stanley the Bear looks 3-dimensional in the picture with Tom. How big is Stanley (height, width, etc.)? He looks massive but Tom appears of normal height/weight.
British expression session class needed: How and when do you apply the term 'packed' vs 'rammed' when describing a space with a lot of people or a long queue? Is rammed the extreme (i.e.: standing room only)?
For Tom: In California we have a very nice British Pub/Restaurant: Ye Olde King's Head. Having spent a fair amount of time in Great Britain, it is 90% close to what you get in the U.K.
Pub Menu: Scotch Eggs, Pork Pie, Sausage Rolls
Dinner: Ploughman's Plate, Cornish Pasties, and all the traditional fare
    Another great episode.

Hi Chris, thank you! Stanley must be a good 6 1/2 foot tall, he's quite a big bear! Packed and rammed can be used interchangeably, but rammed would also be used if a venue was incredibly busy as you said standing room only! 😝 Thank you for confirming what I knew already, I will tell Tom now! He won’t be happy 😆

Thats a shame, they are lovely! 😁 I think we only got them because it was a British Pub Lunch theme in the Capri MDR 😀

Dom has that Colgate smile. I think you should try Atlanis, Carnival, and Virgin. Also, time to invest in some quality skincare; you are getting a lot of sun damage and will be very wrinkled and frecked if you don't.

Thank you for watching. Keep an eye out we will be ticking one of those lines off the list very soon. We have lots of sunscreen packed for our cruises 😁

Jam Roly Poly is essentially a late Georgian/Victorian pudding - trifle's origins are much older. Scotch Eggs were invented by Fortnum and Mason in the mid-1700's allegedly. Your Scotch Egg debate was straight out of the mad days of Covid - there were political discussions about whether getting a Scotch egg in a pub was just a snack or a main meal. Total lunacy.

Ahh we remember those Covid days hopefully we won’t be returning to the madness
