Shaq is always putting others before himself. A very rare characteristic of an athlete, let alone a regular person. Probably the most genuine human being in existence. Couldn’t have happened to a better person.

I grew up a Bulls fan in Bulls country. Penny and Shaq were the first players i respected from another team. They were fucking LEGIT. Penny was so much fun to watch and his shoes were dope af.

I'm a longtime Magic fan and I came to terms with Shaq's departure from Orlando long ago, especially when I discovered that the Magic lowballed him in '96 after the HEAT gave Alonzo Mourning that huge contract. The Magic was a non-entity nationally pre-Shaq and he was our first bona fide superstar. I doubt the Magic got on NBC as much as it did in the mid-'90s without him.
Shaq has my one of my favorite basketball moments. When he dunked in Phoenix and the rim came down 😂. That was back when The NBA was on NBC....

Shaq, for whatever reason, to me still doesn’t get the recognition. His Orlando days were game changing, but he literally took over the league when he went to LA. Those were his teams, and his peak as a Laker is the most dominant stretch that organization ever seen.
