    One thing is sure. This one is much more reliable than any turbo of this segment. And you can use your hand to downshift which is much fan due to the excellent gearshift.

    I don't get you people. Have you ever driven NA engine in your life? It is difficult to shift gears and it is difficult to shift fast?!? NA engines are pure pleasure to drive, shifting gears is what makes driving fun (engaged) and although this car is not pretending to be the race car it is still great car for a driver. If you expect to accelerate in 4th gear then you should go to automatic and let the gearbox do all the work for you.

      Agree. N/A engines have more linear natural power delivery and wider power band. Plus no turbo means less stress on the engine and longer lifespan. I hope Mazda continue to resist the small capacity turbo engine crap that rivals use.

    I ended up going with one trim down from the top spec GT model, which is basically everything minus blindspot monitoring and similar type features. I was going to go with a CX3 but felt I don't want to get a lower tiered CX3 as the features are very cut down.
    I feel if you are a car reviewer the engine could seem a little light but when you drive it, it is quite lively and I test drove a Toyota Corolla Hatch, Polo, 208 non GT line (allure) and even up to Haval H2's, Kia Sportage and Toyota CHR. Overall the 1.5l naturally aspirated engine feels pretty lively.

    The 2 remains a great B segment product and I'm pleased Mazda continue to resist bolting turbo chargers to their engines. However, I am disappointed with this new facelift models front end looks. Its less sporty and cheeky looking than the pre facelift.

    I really don’t understand. People complaining about downsizing, and when they need to downshift with a stick, they cry like a baby... “buhu, I needed to use 2nd gear”.
    Tired od that, tbh.

    You have to lock the car 2 times and activate theft mode. Mazda have it. Thief can't get out from the car if he gets in without Mazda key. And the thing with gears that you can go in 2nd and 3rd gear so high it great for overtaking. And no it doesn't need turbo! because of turbo it would only have higher consumption gas and oil and less reliable/durable

  • @LukaFontain
    @LukaFontain Год назад +2

    The current 1.0l turbo Fiesta and Polo with the same power output as this Mazda take longer to get to 60, and use more fuel in the real world. Why does every car review slam the approach to this engine design?

      Car Mojo you bring a good point, however I don’t think it is possible to disable keyless entry. If I am not mistaken the key fobs that you need to press a button to open the door have the same problem. I guess this is why you have insurance 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @CarMojo
      @CarMojo 4 года назад +1

      @@lucaflaccop.4106 afaik, the key fob where you need to press a button is not 100% safe, but it's a different situation: thieves mostly try to intercept the signal when you press the button to lock the car, so locking doesn't work and car stays open. when you lock the car and test it by grabbing the handle - once it is locked - you are quite safe. without pressing the button the key fob is just an useless rock.
      on the other hand, keyless key fobs emmit weak signal - you can be 100 (or much more) meters away from you car, but one thief can follow you with a device in his coat, decoding the signal, amplifying it and sending it to another guy that has a device near your car's door.
      making this system safer is quite easy - just by adding a timestamp and expiration time to every communication between the car and the key fob. since intercepting and transmitting the signal between the keyfob and those devices takes some time, using anything other than the original key fob near the car would lead to expired communication requests which should be discarded by the car - no unlocking, no start (again, not 100% safe, but harder to break). It's pretty simple way to improve the safety, so I really don't know why car manufacturers ignore it so badly.
      my point was, that all those systems like faraday bags, and power switches actually revert the keyless system into something where you need to press the button (or do something like that).
      insurance means money back (mostly not full price of the car), but doesn't solve all the troubles. it's better not to have your car stolen.

    Remove the turbo from a downsize engine, and it's still a 1.0 3 cilinder that depends on a turbo. Luckily Mazda use Normal size engine, less torq in the lower revs? Luckily Mazda gearboxes is one of the smoothest.

    It looks duller and less sporty then the pre-facelift. My brother was in love for its design inside and out in 2015, but after the test drive he had 2nd thoughts. It was too cramped, too noisy, too harsh, the engine (same as in the video) was too gutless, specially for a high compression direct injected 1.5. To make any progress at all was needed to overrev it everywhere. He bought the Hyundai I20 1.25, despite being slow as well and the interior being less interesting, the Hyundai is far roomier, was cheaper, has lower road tax and insurance, is much more quiet and confortable and it pulls better in low revs wich means he doesn't need to rev it so much just to keep up with traffic.

    • @rel6294
      @rel6294 3 года назад

      as an owner of mazda 2 i can confirm it, the engine while it need to rev in order to get power i think it makes the car fun and sporty. but the biggest downside is they sacrificed too much space in order to get the styling they want. this car is one of the longest in its class yet they sacrificed too much because the hood is too long
