It's almost like some of the comments that are critical of KempQ have a point. Here's the best advice, don't engage with scammers, PERIOD. You want to anti-scam a scammer? Think you're clever? Easy money? Sure, you can try it, but you might just get scammed any way.
Here is another anti scam tip.. don't follow randoms around while using damaging items and hopping into pvp worlds and having your expensive items out during any of that. The only reason the scam works is people let it happen. So if you read this, tell yourself to ignore strangers who ask you to zamorak brew and go into a high risk world. If you dont want to die dont be around skulled players in random locations either. At that point if you lose stuff, you kinda didnt get scammed, you just went along for the ride to lose it all

I imagine most scams are built around tricking someone's brain to stop thinking clearly after it gets the hope implanted. Like with how wild brains are, I would not be surprised if that hope literally overrides normal functioning of the brain. In that case, it's more about getting people to stop that from happening in the first place no matter what the content of the scam is. Of course that wouldn't be everyone, nor would it cover people who are skeptical yet still believe they can get something out of it if they play their cards right... until they inevitably mess up in some way.
All you have to do is remember the phrase “if it’s sounds too good to be true, then it probably is” and your chances of getting scammed drastically reduce
If people didn't know Runelite plugins are heavily monitored when updated and reviewed when uploaded to Runelite for the staff team to review it. Can it happen? Possibly but very very slim.

hey i have watched your videos and i absolutely love what your doing in mc, keep up good work, along with other peeps like salc1 and horizon. i can never find any and only thing i can do to such servers is making an area close to my plot unplayable while rest of the server is perfectly fine. its not much, but its honest work. also if server happens to have ability claim area, i dig to bed rock and then claim it cause some claim plugins have made it so that if claim user hasn't touched below y level like for example -10, then at -20 and under that people can interact with diamonds and stuffs. cause that allows little timmy to make claim to make house and never playing again but still leaves potential diamonds underground possible to mine.
One other thing they generally use and tried to use on you on this video as well, they try to make you remove items and close trade window which causes you to click on a tile west(or wherever generally they want you to move). Idk if its possible to add that to the plugin but it would be really nice if there would be an option that invalidates movement for 1 or 2 ticks which should be more than enough for ppl to not fall for it
The friends list is what is needed... I traded Shaddow and Tbow same day i got pluggin... Someone seen i had a friend i was trading with and logged in with pretty much same name... havent played since
Bruh, plugin code base is open source. I don't see any shady requests to servers being made in your plugin. Very small and simple code base. Literally a few files. Not that familliar with Java though, but I understand most since there are a lot of similarities between C#, PHP, TypeScript, etc. Only diff is syntax, but it's about the logic. Only if you have a package manager that downloads and imports a custom malicious library, could I see this happening.

I'm not sure where to post this information, but I have found a bot farm on Fossil island. They are mining volcanic ash, this level 16 account has 81 mining. There is 1 on most worlds, levels 30s and 40s combat mostly.
This game and PSO2 have been the epicenters of literal cybercrimes in my experience. Whenever I report a fresh face in PSO2 for advertising real money trading, another one crops up and without a wobbly trading system like OSRS's, it's harder to lay the counterattack on these thieves.

Bots happen when a game is F2P. Luckily there's an easy solution to playing PSO2 without these bots, it's called switching to JP servers. Better translations, better collabs, better players, no bots.

You should have Stoner Turtle learn about statistical anomaly detection; if he were to log GE prices through past trades with a time frame you can use a combination of the mean, standard deviation and Z scores to work out manipulation. This is what's used by data scientists, market surveillance analysts and quantitative analysts to investigate market manipulation.

Although I don't think the plugin is a scam, I think it's very important for people to remember not to fully trust anyone, even if they have the rep of being an anti scammer. A long ass time ago there was an anti scammer who ended up scamming his community with the reasoning "I have literally been teaching you not to trust anyone. Trusting me is on you, not me".

I seriously appreciate everything you're doing last year I got scammed for over one bill it was my childhood account for over 10 years I ended up getting fished they drained my bank account I let my account set for a year logged everything out put authenticators on it again and then now everything seems good

I saw a scam today where a guy named RhysGP impersonated the RUclipsr and doubled money. Had a bunch of people in on it saying “woah! This guys rich!” And stuff like that.
I still remember getting scammed for my Adamant sword as a 10 year old. Guy swapped noted Adamant longsword for an Iron one :/ saddest day of my RS life.

What about another new plug in idea for preventing logging into pvp worlds in unsafe areas, teleporting to unsafe areas, or even stepping outside of safe areas when holding x amount of GP? 🤔
You could make something like this work. But you would still have to be careful because you can still be forced by walking under like in the video. Or if your risking someone 1v1 on edge of multi they can still spear you into multi
There actually already is a sick plug-in for this, it's called "Stop engaging with people saying they're going to give you free money and then ask you to go through some convoluted process to claim it."
I was actually scammed by this exact scam (the guys were even wearing the same gear & gave me the same gear to wear). I don't remember the account names though so I'm unsure if this was the same exact guy. I EVEN had some random guy there pm'ing me saying the same things as he did to you!! That part was odd, I wonder if that is a part of the set up as well. It made my absolute day watching your friends PK them LOL
It's funny.. because you got the plugin approved by jagex.. people making face youtube accounts to try and tarnish your name is interesting. Edit: Jagex should make it so when you trade another player by clicking the trade option in chat.. it prevents your character from moving and will trade around around your and under your character in a 4x4 area or maybe even bigger? this would kill a lot of these lures
Pretty sure it'll be a CUSTOM friends list exclusive to the plugin, not actually synced to your in-game friends list. So you can add people you actually know, like IRL friends to that list, in order to trade freely with them.

Whitelisted friends is a concern for the plugin. "Make sure you're using KempQ's plugin, to be sure nobody scams you. Here's 1m GP. Oh, I can't click accept - you need to add me to the Whitelist" Then, it feels more secure, making them more susceptible. I get why you would want it, but giving scammers easy workarounds to the intent of your plugin is a bad idea.
Yeah only time I've ever had the trade limit come into effect (or really the only time I trade people tbh) is raid splits, and I can just right click accept to push it through anyway.
@@patyfatycakebut the plugin stops YOU from giving more gp than what the other person is offering. It doesn't stop the scammer from giving you as much as they want. Whitelisting just means YOU can give them whatever for nothing in return. Like when you let a friend borrow some gear. They probably should make it clear that you don't need to whitelist someone to get anything. If the scammer can't give you anything then THEY are the ones that need to whitelist you, not the other way around.
you should add to the plugin a option to cancel trades that have a stack of items over a certain number, or cancel trades with a certain amount of items in the trade screen. just so scammers can't put in a huge amount of a manipulated item.
I was thinking, if we never upped our game with anti-scam attempts, the arms race of better scammers / anti-scam plugins would never have begun, leaving the unarmed noobs vulnerable. Maybe jagex could assist in this?

way round that is names changed take 1 hour to change in game. This means no spontaneous name changes for scammers to use as a weapon.

I seriously appreciate everything you're doing last year I got scammed for over one bill it was my childhood account for over 10 years I ended up getting fished they drained my bank account I let my account set for a year logged everything out put authenticators on it again and then now everything seems good
Good to see you getting the best of these degenerates. People shouldn't get too comfortable though, it is when that happens that we make mistakes and they take advantage... Just when you think you know how the scam works and try to best them, is when they pull something you haven't seen before and take you for bank.

I saw a scam today where a guy named RhysGP impersonated the RUclipsr and doubled money. Had a bunch of people in on it saying “woah! This guys rich!” And stuff like that.
I still remember getting scammed for my Adamant sword as a 10 year old. Guy swapped noted Adamant longsword for an Iron one :/ saddest day of my RS life.
Had the same thing happen to me but with rune and mithril scimitar, 12 year old me got so upset

What about another new plug in idea for preventing logging into pvp worlds in unsafe areas, teleporting to unsafe areas, or even stepping outside of safe areas when holding x amount of GP? 🤔
You could make something like this work. But you would still have to be careful because you can still be forced by walking under like in the video. Or if your risking someone 1v1 on edge of multi they can still spear you into multi
I dont think a plugin where it doesnt let you step on specific tiles is allowed
I don't think a plugin preventing you to move to certain squares would be approved, the login thing might work tho!
There actually already is a sick plug-in for this, it's called "Stop engaging with people saying they're going to give you free money and then ask you to go through some convoluted process to claim it."
There is a warning by default on going into the wilderness and logging into pvp worlds...
I was actually scammed by this exact scam (the guys were even wearing the same gear & gave me the same gear to wear). I don't remember the account names though so I'm unsure if this was the same exact guy. I EVEN had some random guy there pm'ing me saying the same things as he did to you!! That part was odd, I wonder if that is a part of the set up as well. It made my absolute day watching your friends PK them LOL
It's funny.. because you got the plugin approved by jagex.. people making face youtube accounts to try and tarnish your name is interesting.
Edit: Jagex should make it so when you trade another player by clicking the trade option in chat.. it prevents your character from moving and will trade around around your and under your character in a 4x4 area or maybe even bigger? this would kill a lot of these lures

friends list on the plug in just lets scammers socially engineer people into adding them
Pretty sure it'll be a CUSTOM friends list exclusive to the plugin, not actually synced to your in-game friends list.
So you can add people you actually know, like IRL friends to that list, in order to trade freely with them.

If the plugin was able to check the price history for items on the wiki, it could probably be set to detect items that have been price manipulated. Not sure if that'd even work tho

Whitelisted friends is a concern for the plugin.

Then, it feels more secure, making them more susceptible.
I get why you would want it, but giving scammers easy workarounds to the intent of your plugin is a bad idea.

It only prevents you from making trades where you would lose money, so this situation wouldnt happen
Yeah only time I've ever had the trade limit come into effect (or really the only time I trade people tbh) is raid splits, and I can just right click accept to push it through anyway.
@@patyfatycakebut the plugin stops YOU from giving more gp than what the other person is offering. It doesn't stop the scammer from giving you as much as they want. Whitelisting just means YOU can give them whatever for nothing in return. Like when you let a friend borrow some gear.
They probably should make it clear that you don't need to whitelist someone to get anything. If the scammer can't give you anything then THEY are the ones that need to whitelist you, not the other way around.
you should add to the plugin a option to cancel trades that have a stack of items over a certain number, or cancel trades with a certain amount of items in the trade screen. just so scammers can't put in a huge amount of a manipulated item.
Don't try to anti-scam you will end up getting scammed.
