Kaohsiung Harbor night tour, take a yacht/ferry from Pier 2 to Hongmaogang culturalcruise.khcc.gov.tw/ENG/home01.aspx?ID=1 have a casual walk and nice dinner at Hongmaogang , just make sure you can take ferry and head back home.
The fried noodle you had at the end is called “鱔魚意麵(shan yu yi mien)" , and it's a different kind of eel, not the unagi kind. There are a lot of famous fried eel noodle shops in Tainan worth trying! Maybe next you guys can head all the way down to 墾丁(Kenting), the very southern tip of Taiwan for the beach and sunshine, since it's not cold at all in the so called "winter" in Taiwan... Anyways, great video!! I hope you guys enjoy your stay in Taiwan!
Apart from food, I'd take the ferry along the Love River and just the scene along it. Kaohsiung is huge, bigger Taipei, if you are into bars or gigs, Kaohsiung has a lot of choices for that.
Glad to see you two not afraid of trying something new in a different country. I believe only by doing so, you will get closer to authenticity. Have a great stay in Taiwan
The Dutch people came to Pescadores ( known as Penhu today) and built 2 castles there in 1622 and 2 years later they moved to Tainan and also built 2 castles. One was renovated later and called Chikan tower. Another is in Anping. The forts in Penghu had been ruined but the name of 紅毛城( red hair castle) pass down from generation to generation.
Just a piece of advice about the vegetarian food in Taiwan, you can try to find some places called “vegetarian buffet”(素食自助餐)where you can choose many kinds of vegetarian food you want and you pay depending on how much you pick. This kind of Taiwanese buffets (not just vegetarian) are everywhere and you should look it up on google map!
Asking the temple for an answer was what my brothers ex gf did in order to assess where to go for her masters. She ended up in Scotland and met my brother, who then came to Taiwan (as did I)...when he found out her reason he got angry. Such a flimsy reason to go to another country, lol.
Let us know what we should do next in Kaohsiung and Southern Taiwan!

So happy to hear from you! We're teaching English in Taiwan until next summer at least. How is everything going in El Salvador?
@@AlongWeGo - we are in Nevada now and will return in December. We look forward to the end of the virus.
We love public transportation! It is always a fun Adventure. Did you have any problems bringing your camera into the temples?
Not at all! Most temples are very welcoming to tourists and don’t seem to mind people taking photos or videos
@@AlongWeGo Thanks for the info!
Nice but now I'm hungry!

Dim-sum is Cantonese. Neither Chinese mandarin not Taiwan. No one knows the word in Taiwan except the people from HongKong.
