Check out the Live at Wetlands one if you haven’t already, they were on mushrooms and it’s brown as shit. Its the one where Deaner flips the audience off the the beat in the beginning and “taste the waste fucker, taste the waste”, whole gig is great really.
this and birthday boy are some of my favorite ween tunes but end up being the ones i listen to the least because they just make me sad. 2 brown 2 handle
Only see the ween one time. Gypsy Tea Room Dallas, Tx. They were excellent. A lot of fun and even more emotion coming off the stage. It was packed and I stood by some folks who weren’t acquainted with anything but daisies and 76. I told them they were in for a real treat. They left the show stunned and ween brought home a few new fans. Good times. I miss that feeling.
brought me to tears thinking about how special these shows can be. I know I'll be in tears during a couple tracks looking around with a head full of acid and a massive grin.
agreed, the album version is just too distorted but this version has so much emotion in the vocals and the guitar pierces through everything beautifully
Just noticed the line "what is your place in my glorification", likely a reference to Instant Death's "Enabler". Of which Ween did a sick cover of when I saw them live. Edit: I must have had a stroke because the Enabler has no lyrics like that lmao. I don't know why I misremembered like that. Still tho everyone should listen to that song
I can't stop listening to all the versions of this song, they are all great and different
That's is what's so awesome about ween, multiple reworked compositions. And tight as hell on all versions

Seriously, I just watched the recent Brooklyn Bowl version and even after hearing a thousand versions, I was still caught off guard
My favorite thing about this song is as it’s been perfected over time live instrumentally they never fail to mix up the lyrics. That extra charm
State your case man
Sounds like a tender situation 😂
Would love to hear this with some country western fiddle. Holy fuck I would start bawling.
I can hear it in my head it would be so perfect
I actually really like the way they bring out the violin for about 3 or 4 notes in this one. It’s actually so pretty
i love this song

the only thing that makes me happy when this song ends is that I get to start it over
I want this played at my funeral

If it makes you feel better I can't hardly listen to pure guava. I think I know exactly what you mean.
