    Notes:
Not abandoning yourself in your writing. The voice you have is the voice you should be communicating.
    1. Starting in the middle and build dishes around it. Start with the part you are already excited about. Build the structure around the middle. Whatever idea is interesting you. Write down that paragraph that makes you want to sit down. Build the frame of the most important room first. And then let the rest of the structure falls into place around it. The last thing you should add is the walls and details. At the end you will be excited about finishing, and it won't feel as boring.
Titles of every chapter. What needs to be communicated. Filling in the blanks. Budgeting words.
    2. Have something to say. The idea.
What is the truest thing you want to say about this topic.
And then the next truest thing.
Get stuck because you can't think truthfully. Deluded. Don't know enough to write about this. Slow hard and only create when you have a truth to share. Know how to stop, when not to write. Dishonest creativity is not for producing very profound, impactful, life-altering pieces of writing. Give your brain to breathe. Would love for everyone to know it. Otherwise it won't be good writing. There's no spirit to it. The audience is not going to be connected to something if you are not connected to it.
Live enough to actually have things to say.
How vain it is to sit down and write when you have not stood up to live.
Your writing should be significantly less than the experience you have around your writing.
Your writing should come from a place of having a new, deep, profound way of looking at life in the world you are dying to express and communicate.
You maybe just said what you have to say for now.
Wait till you are bursting to share it.
    Live in an unconventional way.
    3. A little bit less time than we need. Force a DEADLINE.
    Time pressure works for us.
We prefer to be information gathering mode lol.
When we set a specific goal within a specific timeframe, our brain naturally goes "what route we have to go to get there".
Your brain won't naturally go in that direction until you have a reason for it to.
    4. Avoid the tendency to over-explain theories and miss out concrete examples.
Present the facts and let the readers come to their own conclusions of theories. A good writer makes the audience feel like they get there themselves. At the ends of it, explain the pattern overtly and let the audience feel good about having got it.
Think about who you are writing for and what examples they need.
    5. Not to lose your voice in your writing.
ENFPs do perceive the world a lot differently from other people. Not common.
Able to get deeply in touch with Fi in the way that a lot of people aren't able to do it. Having Fi as a second cognitive function means you are actually in the best position to observe it.
People who have Fi as the first function, INFP and ISFP. Most of the time they are absolutely brilliant creatives, but what they are doing is purely expressing their emotions.
When it is your second function, you are able to observe your emotional experience from a little distance and analyze it. That is a very unique skill. Not what a lot people have and capitalize on.
The type of creating that feels authentic to them is not the type others are doing. But that is your competitive advantage.
Both grounded in reality, and creative and passionate and inventive. You get a funny, engaging, down-to-earth way of explaining complex topics. Do not trim that out of yourself.
Juxtapose what is real with what is theoretical in a way that is funny, engaging, and lighthearted at one moment, and profoundly emotionally jarring in the next, you will be fulfilling your creative destiny. That's what you naturally shine at. If it feels like you are struggling so much to fit a certain creative mold, consider throw out that creative mold.
Heidi will write, produce, and film almost nothing that she does not have complete and total 100% creative AUTONOMY over. Because when she is limited by the confines of what a company or a website needs her to stay within, she can not express the thing she needs to express to the world in the exact way she is capable of expressing it, she will be cheapening her work.
If your goal as a creative is to share what you believe to be true about the world, consider how you can find as much creative autonomy over your projects as humanly possible. That means give up money, opportunity. Decide how much your integrity matters to you versus opportunities.
The biggest mistake you can make as an ENFP writer is to lose your voice by sound like someone that is more palatable. Swearing, too real. Those are famous are unabashed in the way they share their voice. Refusal to be anyone other than yourself.
More and more and more yourself.
The work that is honest to you.

Each time I watch one of your videos I cry and feel sane. In my industry I shine when it comes to presentations. It has always been my mantra to make the audience feel feel proud that they got to the conclusion themselves. It tells me I didn't lose my audience, that l told it in such a simplistic way they are following along and drawing the same conclusion. I sold them on the theory. Presentations and writing go hand in hand. In fact, when try to convey a technical concept in a paper I will first approach it as if I am giving a presentation on it. I think this is because as an ENFP I am an extroverted thinker. Much like Lucile Ball I cannot work through a concept without an audience in front of me to play off. I also see writing like a mathematical proof. One must lay out facts in a logical order to prove the theory.

    • @33point83
      @33point83 2 года назад +1

WOW. Those last two sentences could not have resonated with me more. I completely get the mathematical proof idea - and have used it before - but in particular the not being able to work through a concept without an audience in front of me to play off - or a debate partner. I have been trying to explain this to a coach, about why I can have difficulty just writing out and posting ideas on social media; she says just set a schedule and do it (which cause me to freeze). But this makes clear why I'd rather give a conference paper than talk into a camera by myself or write a blog or newsletter. I need that active consciousness to play off. thankyou !

Does coming up with concrete examples come easily to you? I’m an ENFP and I struggle with that. I communicate the theory to death, but it doesn’t hit home for everyone through that style of communication. Have you been able to find ways or have any advice on how to get stronger in this area of coming up with concrete illustrations, examples, etc?

This is way more analytical than I expected! I usually do the same thing, I do start at the beginning and go through to the end, but only main details and later come in and put the meat on the bones. The entire structure has to be done in one sitting or it’s probably just never gonna get done at all

You keep blowing my mind! I found your channel a few days ago on family enmeshment, then ate up the limerence videos, then attachment videos (fearful avoidant here), and now the ENFP videos. You’re like another version of myself who’s gotten a lot of shit done! It’s actually very invigorating to have found your channel because I can see myself and my personality, interests, and desires in such a positive way in you!
Now, as far as commenting regarding this video, I have always been a very good writer, even had a professor tell me in my undergrad I was a better writer than most of his graduate students, but i have always struggled with writing. It takes a lot out of me to take all the information I love to acquire and synthesize in my head and put it into writing and then work it into a concisely written explanation just because the sheer volume of info is overwhelming. I do much better speaking with others. But I have found that, similar to what you explained here, creating an outline was helpful in the past. I also wonder if my difficulty is a result of ADHD/c-ptsd/neglectful upbringing and not having a lot of practice to just sit, be patient, and not give up so quickly. Also, I hate proofreading!
Recently, I decided to get back into music and start songwriting. I love it as it’s a much more fun way to express what I have to say (once it’s done being written, that is). The downside, though perhaps it’s just the skill I need to work on, is that a song is an even more narrow idea whose words are even more concise with its meaning and yet paint a beautiful picture. It’s quite the challenge. I know I don’t need the lyrics to be held to such a high expectation, especially with such popular songs like, for example, “baby, baby, baby, ooh!” But I have so much I want to say and it feels I must make every song say something very important to me. It feels like every single line, every single word, holds a lot of importance because of the limitations given by the constraints of what a song is.
Anyway, I don’t really have a point to my comment. And I didn’t think it would be this long either. I just wanted to share… 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @MildExplosion
      @MildExplosion 11 месяцев назад

I can't remember the artist (ADHD too lol) but a while ago I came across a songwriter who said part of her process was to write stories or essays about the song topic, then write a song about that specific essay. Could be a fun experiment to make a song as an homage to a longer piece that says everything you want to say, without all the format constraints 😊

10:35 - still applies,m! Simply means that the audience does not have the context [which an academic paper is not likely to flesh out as an editorial would etc] to understand how the world could change from such scientific discovery. Also, this is fine. If an important thing is published in nature, peers of the author will feel something if indeed the boon is clearly described.

Hahaha the first one, that’s exactly the way I naturally write and find it more enjoyable to do so. It’s honestly pretty chaotic, and I’m not surprised my ISTJ boyfriend has had so many issues connecting the dots because I keep sending him these pretty intense scenes that seemingly came out of nowhere. I try to explain why it happened and who it’s tied to but he’s just like “uhuh…”. It’s not that he doesn’t care, he just has no idea what’s going on lmao so yeah, I think it’s good to be mindful of that.
