    I feel a little bad for not truly appreciating how much effort goes into a remake like this, some might think it's "easy" to create something that already exists, but man, there is so much more hard work that goes into this stuff that we're simply never see. Well done, Caleb!

    Clever stuff for the low angles. I had thought upon seeing the BTS pic on Twitter, "How'd he achieve those low angles with that sort of handycam?"

    I wonder what Thomas and Friends would’ve looked like if they treated the models the same way they made the Lego movie in 2014. Like no “human” cgi characters or animals, and instead referencing the old “toy” figures. The true magic of the series was the dedication to irl modeling.

    The black James pays homage to the fact that James was new to Sodor having just arrived from the British Railways nationalised Britain.
    I loved Adventure Begins for making this detail that Awdrey had illustrated in Thomas the Tank Engine as it acknowledged where Sodor exists.

    • @Calebtrain
      @Calebtrain  Год назад

      Any acknowledgement of Sodor's place in the world is always cool, TAB had lots of fun little things like that. :)

      @AbbeyYard Год назад

      Thomas The Tank Engine was published in *September 1946.* And takes place during *1924/5,* sometime after the Grouping Act in 1923. British Railways was founded in *January 1948,* about a year and a few months after Thomas the Tank Engine's publication. Awdry couldn't have known about British Railways when writing the book because it didn't exist yet. Also James' black coat, as seen in Thomas and the Breakdown Train, looks very similar to LMS Black, rather than BR Black.

    • @ChimpManZ1264
      @ChimpManZ1264 Год назад

      @@AbbeyYard Wilbert stated in his letter with the book James the Red Engine that Nationalisation had taken place and the engines had numbers. James arrival was not long before so the timeline is a bit stretched.

    This is why I'm an editor and not a filmmaker. You started speaking, and I'm just like 'yep, sounds good, keep up the good work' lol.
    I think having a lower set for the camera to make the models look bigger is a super clever idea. Have you considered do more dolly shots using the HO track?

    • @Calebtrain
      @Calebtrain  Год назад

      Yes, I have! In past I've used a wagon on the rails as well, but that usually adds too much height. The camera spin at the end in the final video is done with the camera sliding on the track, this time perpendicular to the set tracks. :)

    • @PlayDontPause
      @PlayDontPause Год назад

      Considering how hit or miss a tripod would be for a shot like that, I think that's probably the best way to do it.
      Also, big props on those tracking shots. Very smooth, considering how fast it is...though, I'm assuming the final shot it sped up a little bit.
