Never feel bad about giving your birds sunflower seeds. I work in the zoo keeping/animal car feild. Everyone I know in the professional feild use sunflower seeds as rewards/motivation.
It may be highly disagreed upon but I 100% agree with you on the sunflower seed thing! I shouldn’t eat French fries several times a week, but I sho’nuff do 😂
Seriously thank you for saying that and thinking I'm worth your time. I'll be honest, the animal community is a rough one to be in sometimes. So comments like that really help me want to keep doing this. Sorry that you're the poor soul that I have poured my heart to right now lol but I truly do appreciate it so much. Thank you again this really did mean a lot.
@@VictoriaRyann yeah it is a bit rough with some very 'precious' folk about who take themselves very seriously and refuse to accept that their way may not be the only way to keep their birds or animals happy. I love the way you approach the advice you give and the approach you seem to take to life in general. Also it means just as much to me that you replied, I very rarely feel the need to comment on any videos but with yours they leave me feeling happy so I felt I should let you know ❤
Oh my gosh you aint kidding! All birds are different and what works for one bird may not work for another. You are so right. Thank you for all of those compliments I don't deserve that much at all but thank you I will take them haha! Sorry for constantly repeating myself here but you really did make me feel better and helped me want to continue this. Thank you and hope you have an awesome week😊
Ditto. You are awesome. I have picked up so many great items that you suggested, the baking mats, the air purifier..etc..amazeballs. one of my favorite parts of watching you is the editing where the birds change position by magic lol. Makes me smile.
Love your videos! Found your channel when I was looking into parrots before I got my first parrot - a turquoise conure. Thanks for your advice and sharing your beautiful Yoshi and Popples with everyone 😊
Since my parrot and I have been watching you, WE are so much more cheerful!! You have such a bright personality!! Thank you for lightning up our relationship!!!
Thank you Victoria for your support during my bird crisis. My new GC Conure is doing great! I have set up a routine where he will not be out with the dog. As a new Green Cheek Conure owner, I will be following you closely. Thanks again!
How does one keep their bird off their head. 😂😂 I didnt know i had an Choice in that. My gcc doesnt take no for an answer. she likes being on the highest perch. 😂😂
Ohhhh man yes I give my Conure Coco sunflower seeds as an odd treat not very often and he LOVES it so why not hes completely health 16 weeks old baby and learning new things everyday he look exactly like your yoshi also I'm a new sub and love your channel already thanks for sharing 😁😁
I love, love , loved this video!! And I anwered ,the same way you did on every question/myth. Of course as Ive told you before I raise my Jake just like you raise your birbs. Do more of these kind of vids., if ya can. Thanx, Jake sends ya chirps and Hello's!!!👍👍👍👍😘P.S. your the BEST silly girl!
Carol, you are so great. I look forward to seeing your comments cause you're always so kind and thoughtful. Thank you I really truly appreciate this. It is really nice to talk to someone who also raises their birds sooo similar to mine. I feel like you get it and understand me. So thank you x a million. Jake is lucky to have you 💜 please give him a hug for me!! If I don't talk to you beforehand, I hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving and I am so thankful for someone like you. Please be safe if you're traveling.
True or False - When a tropical bird is raised in the cold Canadian North, he wakes up every day happier than a pig in poop. He looks forward to heading out to the shop in his Daddys shirt....I stoke the fire and get the heat pumping and then he pops out eats, takes a bath, sings, talks, and yells out the window...that's how I start my work day in the cold Canadian North.
Hahahaha sooo true!!! You've got such a way of putting things 😂 that's why I freaking love you Canadians lol. Hoping you two stay warm and safe during these upcoming holidays!!
Hey Victoria, so my green cheek conure (spectre) is almost 9 months old and he is bonded to me pretty well and i have owned him for over a month and a half. So if i were to go on vacation for a couple of days to a week how should i tell the person who is babysitting my bird what to do.
I relate to the first one so much! My Woodstock’s previous owners insisted he is a pineapple green cheek. They even had another basically identical male conure and they insisted he’s a pineapple too(they were rehoming Woodstock because he was being bullied by their other green cheek, whom they had had for longer). But I remembered seeing pictures of pineapples and didn’t think Woodstock looked quite like that. So I compared him to some pics of other color mutations and he’s definitely a cinnamon. Vet even confirmed it too lol. I love him regardless of what colors he is, but some of the color variations can look so similar!
Love this. I always think it's too funny when folks argue with me about my Mango (pineapple) being a different species then my other two gccs. I gave up the fight and just laugh at them now. Same as the cage thing tbh. Also I agree 100% that I believe that my lovebirds do better together then separate. And yes, another myth debunked, they still love me as a buddy just the same despite them living together.
Hahaha that's so funny you mentioned that gf cause Nic was telling me he saw an argument on Reddit about this exact same topic. The person argued and argued that the pineapple is a separate species. Thankfully the other person was at least nice and calm about it and was like no man sorry but that's incorrect lol. Nice that you can confirm with your own experience with lovebirds! Anyway hope you and your flock are doing well and tell them all I said hi ☺️ stay safe during these upcoming holidays girl if I don't talk to you beforehand. Happy Thanksgiving!
This is such important information, especially about the cages! My bird is a rehome and already 20 and he values his cage time a LOT. He is an African grey and his day cage is maybe 24 x 36 x 36. It's not the biggest cage ever but he has room to stretch his wings. We keep the cage door open when we are in the room and he will come out for a few minutes and then go back inside, and he'll come in and out for food and water and such. It's his choice when the door is open. We just got a small cage for sleeping too and it's maybe 13.5 x 13.5 or so. He can walk around but that's about it. But he goes in and goes to sleep no problem. Honestly I avoid the bird groups unless I have an important question that needs pressing answers because I hate having to add disclaimers so I don't get virtue signaled.
Oh wow that is so cool that tactic works with your bird as well. Neat idea about keeping the door open for him. May give that a go with mine and see how they handle it. So thank you 😊 oh and I can not relate more to your last sentence there lol I feel like I need to do my 10 disclaimers before I start a sentence on here and god forbid I mispoke haha. But yes ultimately its sad we all can't just get along, agree to disagree, and share our love for birds without there being an issue. Thank you for understanding as well I feel your pain haha. Hope you and your birdy have an awesome week.
Same my birds have a cage to sleep in at night or if I need to leave the house their doors are open all day they need that security 100% agree with you all
Welcome back, Victoria----love your vids! I'm getting emails from all over the world on all things parrot related (diet/training/behaviour/body language/environment/toys/lighting/screaching, hormones/biting/anxiety/fearfulness/plucking/aggression, etc.). I do my best to help, but hope you don't mind if I send them your way for further assistance? Sara sends "woofs" and "meows" to you, Popples, and Yoshi! Keep up the amazing work! Glenn
Hey Glenn!!! Are you kidding me?! That is an absolute honor that you would even consider me in assisting others. Thank you and most definitely would love to help as much as I can!! Aweee love Sara to pieces tell her Yoshi and Popples appreciate all the woofs and meows she gives them ☺️💜 happy upcoming holidays to you and your family and as always, thank you for being such a great birb role model for myself and all the other birb lovers out there :)
Ah Victoria----thanks for the kind words:). Education and awareness is what it's all about. It feels good to know you're making a difference:). The "birb squad" is lucky to have you! Sara, Popples, and Yoshi have have a free spirited lifestyle. That's what we want for all companion parrots! Glad we became friends---you're a real badass!
I have one lovebird. He is 5 weeks old, I make sure to take him out from 8am-8pm With breaks for sleep in between. I think he is pretty happy, he has a small cage for sleeping and a small play area without any roof or walls on my desk while i hag out ad do my online school. He so coot.
I love your videos, you're one of the most down-to-earth, approachable bird RUclipsrs I think. I am doing all the research in preparation to get my first bird and i've found your videos so helpful, whereas some other things i've read/seen make me feel like a bad bird owner, and I don't even have a bird yet!
First of all, my daughter is 6 and her name is also Victoria, so yay! Secondly, I'm a new subscriber and I rarely comment on videos if at all but you are genuinely A BREATH OF FRESH AIR on these RUclips Videos for Aviculture. I've watched SO many different bird RUclipsrs in my quest to ensure I'm doing right by my birds. I have two GCCs (a Pineapple and a Yellow Sided) and am getting a Sun Conure baby in about a month or so... I had my GCCs since November and December respectively so I am still new to the Aviculture world and I NEVER thought I'd find such a visceral and self-righteous community in all my life... And I'm black! LMAO. Of course I've met some amazing Bird Guardians but as whole? It's rough out here! But I've sat here and watched at least several of your videos and hearing you is like hearing myself talk in my head! I'm also a gamer so I'm about to follow your twitch in a minute but I just had to say THANK YOU SO MUCH.
lol, it's a joke. I'm just messing with my friend, the BirbQueen. 😁 It would be cool if she covered the topic of the significance of parrots throughout different periods of history, though. Maybe did some costuming, etc.
When I got my peach faced lovebird Nicky, he was in a pair. I rescued them both together as they were gonna be put down 😭 but sadly one of them, named Elijah, passed away a few months after. They were both very wild when I got them and terrified of people (probably due to bad treatment). After Elijah passed, Nicky has grew much more confident with me and being outside of his cage. However, he hates other lovebirds. I currently have 9 parrots, an African grey, an Amazon, 2 conures, a pionus, a Senegal and 3 lovebirds. Nicky is terrified of the other lovebirds but adores my Amazon and African grey. I definitely think that he would hate having to share his space with my other lovebirds and I keep them separate at all time. With birds in general, there's isn't a true or false way of doing things but it's very personal and down to individual birds. I really enjoy your channel and think you have wonderful content. This was a very informative video and there should be more honest videos like this on RUclips 😍 . P.S I give my parrots a cheeky sunflower seed too. They adore them 😂
Hey Sophie thank you so much!!! I really enjoyed reading about your birds and the different perspectives. It is very interesting how they all are so different. We try to give general statements and looking at the species as a whole but at the end of the day, it all comes down to how that one individual bird is. Thank you for the compliments it was so kind of you thanks!!! And see I knew I'm not the only one out there that gives their birds sunflower seeds here and there 😂 thanks again girl and if I don't speak to you beforehand I hope you and your fam have a happy Thanksgiving!!!
Oh wow, so interesting that Popples is the dominant, my quaker is the submissive. Omg, omg, OMGGGGG, I have to tell you this, I’m sooo excited!! So I take my babies outside when I garden, they hang out on my hammock and just love being out there. Well Booberry yaps nonstop. Suddenly I hear a ton of quakers yip yapping flying all around us, their squawk is so distinctive, then about 12-15 wild green quakers land on a wire right in front of us, I couldn’t freaking believe it!!!! They were checking her out, then before I knew it they all started flying in reallllllly close. They landed in the tree right above us, on my screen door going into the lanai (I had it propped open so my dogs could go in and out) and right on top of the lanai. Literally 5 feet away from us!! I have pictures, you have to see them, they’re incredible!!! I thought I’d died and gone to heaven!! Since then, they’ve appeared like 4 other times, it’s truly something completely amazing. I still can’t believe it, I just want to squeeze them and give them kisses, lol. Oh, question. At what age are they considered an adult? My BQ is 8 months and my GC is 7 months.
No freaking way!!!!! Ok interesting that your Quaker is the submissive one. Birds different personalities and traits are so unique and fascinating for sure. I bet that was so amazing to see with the wild Quakers!! I'm sure you were just in awe the whole time haha. I'd love to see pics that is amazing you were able to get them!!! You have an ig or Twitter?
Oh and my bad with your question... Id say the younger to medium size birds are considered adults anywhere from 2-4 yrs old while the large birds are anywhere from 3-6 I believe.
I’ve read on bird forums and blogs that household cleaning products (Lysol, Mr. Clean, Pinesol, Windex, Scrubbing Bubbles, etc. etc.) poisons your bird through the air each time you use it. Even if your bird is in a separate room and you clean your bathroom or kitchen, you’re slowly killing them. How do you (personally) keep your house clean? Do you use any products, and have you experienced any ill effects?
My Yellow Sided Green Cheek(Maurice) is more dominant and my Green Quaker(Marty McFly) is the more submissive one. Marty is also the one who won't bite you just because he wants to.lol I have a big cage for each bird but they come out a lot because they want to play on the cages or on me.They do each have one of those things that look like a hanging tent in the corner of their cages that they sleep in.And it never fails at 8 to 9:00 every night the start saying bedtime, bedtime until I shut off the light in that room and go away.lol But I have to tell them good night before they go in the little tent things to sleep.I love my birbs. I have them and 11 parakeets.Plus we have 6 laying hens and at the moment 17 chicks of various ages.
Lol my green cheek eats sunflower seeds and at least a blueberry with fruit a day, the reason is because he seriously has ADHD and is so active that he is burning it off all day, people will always judge, as long as your bird is happy and healthy , that's all that matters , awesome video mate :) xxx
YOU EVIL WENCH!!!! hahaha but no really you're the best Michelle. And that makes sense with your bird. You found what helps him though while still keeping happy and healthy. You're an awesome bird mama and thank you so much 💜 tell your birdies (and now fish lol) I said hi!!!
@@VictoriaRyann I'm only an evil wench when I haven't had my morning coffee hahaha , all animals are good, hope all is good your side of the world my friend xxx
You might consider switching from sunflower to safflower since they are smaller. My gcc prefers them to any other treat and will do anything to get one. They are not to be fed as a meal but as a treat or reward for obeying a request...lol. My house is kept between 70 and 74 degrees F year round so he needs something to help maintain his optimum body temperature when he's not being a crazy bird. He really likes a blueberry, bananas, and cinnamon applesauce too. Most people don't believe me when I tell them all the things he likes to eat.
@@Trike18 yeah I give mine safflower as well :) everything in moderation I believe is fine, but it also depends on the bird , mine are so active they need fuel, other birds may not be so active , all depends on the weather too :)
I got a question, what is the best food for a Quaker parrot and should i put veggies, seeds and other type of food mixed together or in separate bowls?my quaker is 1 and half month old and i want her to be as healthy and happy as possible.
we keep two female quakers in the same room in different cages about 3 foot apart, mine started biting a little after I got her but didn't at first are they too close together or what would cause this?
My first Quaker had sunflowers seeds for the last 10 years of his life but his first food that his owner previously before me gave us pellets and seed and some sunflowers seeds in them to my new birds had sunflowers seeds for 6 years straight I just recently changed his food to some thing expensive and it’s been a few and he doesn’t eat but both of them always ate human food and a lot veggies and fruits they love tortillas and bread I noticed . But I need help raising them watching your videos make me feel like I been taking care of them wrong . My bird loves me though we have some time of bond even tho he bites. I thought him how to say his name he gives kisses back and and when I give him treats he will say thank you in his own language , I know he saying it cause he looks at me after every bites and mumbles words and he only does it when he is very appreciative
If you aren't going to have enough time every single day to let the parrots out to play, interact with you, and get flying exercise, then yes, get the largest damn cage you can afford (Above and BEYOND the species MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS). Also, get your parrot a parrot pet of their own. Parrots are flock animals, if you cannot devote the time and energy to a single parrot, look into getting a different pet, or a second parrot. DO NOT GET A DAMN MIRROR EITHER! If you do, I will Liam Nesson all over you >.> Things I constantly hear or see from parrot owners... ( I can no longer visit any parrot reddit pages, it kills me on the inside how uneducated people are). Them - I don't need to replace the 2-5 exact same size dowel rods that came with my cage (I mean it came with the cage, so its for my bird right?). I will ignore the sores on my parrots feet! (Some of these people also never have their poor parrots outside the cage for more than a few minutes a day). Me - The claws can get weak due to this and the bird can get the bumblefoot disease, too. Some of the trees in your yard are not harmful to your species of parrot, look up what is and what isn't, you just got a ton of free perches AND CHEW TOYS! Them - Those plastic feeders that came with the cage never need to be replaced, ignore the weird smells and color they have! Me - Plastic is a porous material that is inherently more difficult to clean thoroughly than many other surfaces. It effectively collects and traps bacteria just because it is plastic. Don't be a cheap ass, just get some stainless steel or ceramic bowls please... Them - The pet store sells mirrors, grit paper, and hideys for birds, they are for my parrot, I needs those! Me - Stores like money, so they sell anything that will catch your eye. Birds love shredding and forage toys. Most of which you can DIY for next to no costs to you. I don't even want to get into all the reasons why those 3 items aren't meant for parrots, seriously, why does no one take 10 seconds to google and read properly done research? No, go ahead, trust that PetCo employee, who got stuck with the bird isle cause everyone already filled out doggo and catz positions. *facepalm* Them - My parrot can live off an all seed diet, the seed bag says its nutritional! Me - Just google Fatty Liver Disease... I mean your grandparents thought the H bomb was a great idea , they also thought all seed diets were all that a parrot needed. Welcome to 2020, where people should know better by now, or you would at least hope so. For the love of Bob, remove that free feeding millet hanging in the cage to. That is like letting your bird free feed bacon all day. Just like sunflower seeds, you can give them as rewards for training and as treats. Nice video btw, I enjoyed playing along :D
Tui hormones went into over drive and she started to pluck her feathers off her chest, My vet said not to give her seeds of any kind, when I stopped, her feathers started to grow back.
Hi I have a question just about like training parrots because I feel like my cockatiel isn’t willing to cooperate. I bought him at a pets store with terrible ways they took care of their birds compared to the other animals. He’s fine with me standing there and will even chirp to me, but when it comes to trying to get him out the cage and step up he will hiss and fly around the cage. So my question would be how could I teach him that I’m not trying to hurt him but to show him around, and to also be comfortable with my hand? Thank you
Any advice on Dusky Conure ? Planning to get one Need Pros & Cons Please 😬 My last bird was a Parakeets when I was like 13 years old so its been years now I’m 39 and have a daughter that is 13 she wants a Dusky Conure 🤦🏻♀️😂
Hey! So I need help here. I'm looking for a cage (because I'm going to be getting a gcc) and I'm getting mixed signals from different people about it. I heard you said you don't need the bird mansion for your bird, but then I find a "good" sized cage and ask some of my bird friends and they say its like the minimum size.. and I don't know what to do. I'm so confused whether the cage I want to get will be bad for my bird or fine. Please help!
I can only get my quaker out of the cage by leaving the door open. Then the only way to get him back in is to catch him with a towel. He will not get on a perch.
Hi! I have a blue quaker like Popples, but her feathers are kind of dull. What do you do to make his feathers so bright? Is she missing vitamins? Just want the best for my lil birb. Thanks!!
Hey, bathing and showers daily can help with dull feathers as when there dirty and oily it can make there feathers full, especially in Quakers. Hope this helps. Have a great day 😊
I know this was a really long time ago but...not only daily showers but sunshine! If you take them out in travel cages or if they’re harness trained, the sun is great for their feathers. As long as they have nice cool water, and a way to get out of the sun if they want, it’s great.
I have an off subject question. Is there any way to stop my conure from biting holes in my clothes? I got her when she was 16 and she had been allowed to bite holes in her previous owners clothes since she was a baby. It is truly a pain! Thanks
Hey Karen yeah I can totally understand I'm sure that is a pain!! Maybe a little difficult and will take some trial and error also patience but I'm positive we can stop that. Have you tried replacing her need for biting holes in your clothes to something else? Maybe find a toy she likes to chew on or shred and keep it with you when she's on you. If she starts to focus on that instead of your clothes reward her with her fav treat. Let me know what you think about this approach and if that won't work we can think of something else
Victoria Ryann Thank you for answering. I finally found something she would chew on in her cage. It is a swinging mirror with wood around it but when I took it out of her cage to try what you said she ignored it. Any ideas on a chewy thing I could use while she is on me?
@@karenknowles1537 I use pads similar to this when I don't want to change into my "bird clothes". The two pads I found have chains and bells dangling from the shoulder so there are a lot of interesting things for my gcc to play with and chew on other than my clothes. His favorite thing to do was climb inside my t-shirts and create portholes at several places so he could see what was going on as I walked around. www.amazon.com/QBLEEV-Anti-Scratch-Protector-Multi-Functional-Cockatiels/dp/B07YFSSWCG
@@karenknowles1537 You can search for parrot shoulder protector cape and decide if that will help you as it does for me. My gcc loves to get inside my t-shirts and create portholes so he can see what's going on while we're walking around the house.
@@karenknowles1537 My initial reply didn't post right away I suppose because of the link I added so I sent a second reply with essentially the same content but without the link so if both of my replies show up here, you will understand why that happened. Good luck. My gcc is nearly 17 years old now and not so bad at chewing holes because I have a large wardrobe of "holy" shirts for his viewing pleasure and rarely get him out without changing a good shirt for one of his favorites.
Hi, Yesterday I adopted a 2 y.o. GG Conure. He was friendly hand curious when I picked him up. After a 7 hour drive and a long day for both of us...I really screwed up and my small dog mauled him. He's ok, eating and drinking ect.. Still, being that I'm new and everything is new.How would you suggest I comfort him? Leave him alone in his cage and let him chill? Or try to hold him close? Is there anything I should watch for in his behavior that might signal that he's not feeling good instead of just tiredness? Thank you!
Oh no Meg that's horrible! Well all we can do from here is learn from this situation and move forward. I'm happy to hear he's doing better. Have you considered taking him to a vet just in case the dog doesn't get the Birdy sick? I'd give him his space honestly cause he's still trying to learn about you and his new environment. Adding that traumatic experience I'm sure really added to the stress so its probably best to keep him in his cage in the corner with preening and shredding toys to help comfort. Definitely keep an eye on the poop, how he holds his head, how he reacts when you go near the cage, etc. Hope this gives you a good start and I'll be sending good vibes your way 🙏💜
@@VictoriaRyann Thank you for your response Victoria. So far so good. Unfortunately, the closest avian vet. is 5 plus hours from here and I don't want to stress him out more. So far he is playing and seems ok. What should I be watching with "his head"? I may take him to my small town local vet or even the livestock vet if I have a serious problem. I felt I could go to you with this because you would be no judgemental and give me helpful advice. Thank you!
I have a water bottle in there for them as well as a preening toy and a shredding toy. Just in case they need to sooth themselves or take out some frustration on the shredding one. I don't keep food in that one though
Can you help me with my green cheek conure? She loves to come outside the cage. But she doesn't like when I try to pick her up with my hand, shes only okay with me picking her up with a hanger. She just climbs on it and I take her to her cage. How can I make her trust me.
I heard if you get two lovebirds, they won’t wanna be around people, and my lovebird now is really attached to me. If I get a second one, will he get less and less interested with human interaction?
They might be a bit distance if they become good friends with the other bird, but I still think they'll be happy to spend time with you as apart of their flock. It's a possibility that the second bird will warm to you too, or quicker because of the bond you have with the first. I'm definitely not an expert but I've seen this with my cousin's budgies, that his first was attached to him but was lesser so when be bought another one, but they both really like him now. I think birds tend to like they're own species company better, but they're all individuals at the end of the day!
Sorry to correct you, maroon bellied, are easily mistaken for green cheeks, there are a lot of different species of the pyhurra conures that could easily be mistaken as a morph, but pineapples, yellowsided, blue-greencheeks, suncheeks cinnamon (and many more) are greencheek conure colour mutations.
It's all good Leslie! Like I told a couple other people beforehand, I misspoke and didn't catch it during the editing process. But thank you for bringing that up in case beginners get confused by what I said. Appreciate ya
Thank you very much!! Well that one is kind of a toughy to answer cause I dont see what's going on there to understand why he does it randomly. You think maybe he's trying to get your attention? Are you touching something that he has deemed as his? Next time he does it try to get an understanding as to why he does it and his body language. But I'll try to help you in any way I can ☺️
I give my senegal parrot anir what ever he shares my food if he likes in morning he get's his chop well my personal cooking recipe which he loves then bout lunch times he gets what ever i get and sometimes like after noon when we just chiliing round 5pm he'll get a snack sometimes chocolate sometimes ice cream evry thing what ever i have that moment it's same philosophy he should enjoy his life too not just how long he'll live well you can balance it it's like a cheat day and i promiss my baby is really healthy and happy when i take him for vet chekups 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I can't move my bird at 4am when I go to work so she has a giant cage for when im at work then out with me all evening and all weekend with me but during the day she had a giant cage to play in

I don't think sunflower seeds should fall into the myth category, since too many are clearly bad for the bird. You seem to be preaching moderation, which is a sensible approach to almost anything that isn't fatal.

You're fast becoming my favourite youtuber, funny, interesting and I love your birds ❤
P.s saw Tool last night- my Conure loves their beat lol
Oh SHOOT! How have I not thought of having a second cage??? Great idea. Also, bird people are ferocious!!!! Ease up peeps!
Not to be that kind of person, but maroon bellied conures are a different species, but also from the genus Pyrrhura.
You're fine I misspoke. Should of said relatives to one another. Thanks for pointing that out respectfully.
I LOVE this! Yes, so many get misinformed on parrot species and colors that look similar...great vid girl!
Love your videos! Found your channel when I was looking into parrots before I got my first parrot - a turquoise conure. Thanks for your advice and sharing your beautiful Yoshi and Popples with everyone 😊

True canadian here hahahaha so true lol
Hey Victoria, so my green cheek conure (spectre) is almost 9 months old and he is bonded to me pretty well and i have owned him for over a month and a half. So if i were to go on vacation for a couple of days to a week how should i tell the person who is babysitting my bird what to do.
I LOVE the cage rant too lol, I am sharing on my Love Your Parrot Facebook page. I totally agree with you sista!
I just found you and am looking into getting a bird. Soo amazing watching your bond with them❤️

Q: Why do pirates have parrots as opposed to any other bird?
FezzikJr is this a legitimate question, or just a joke? I’m confused.
Is this a joke?
lol, it's a joke. I'm just messing with my friend, the BirbQueen. 😁
It would be cool if she covered the topic of the significance of parrots throughout different periods of history, though.
Maybe did some costuming, etc.

Exactly!! 😂😂😂😂
I have a maroon belly. His tails my favorite part the feathers are different on both sides
It fun / interesting eating your parrots interact I love your videos
This was a very informative video and there should be more honest videos like this on RUclips 😍
.
I have a Sun and a Quaker and the Quaker thinks she’s large and in charge LOL!
Id say the younger to medium size birds are considered adults anywhere from 2-4 yrs old while the large birds are anywhere from 3-6 I believe.
what cages do you use for your birds?

I have had all kinds of birds. From a blue and gold macaw to a budgie. By far my quaker parrot had the largest and most interesting personality.
Sunflower seeds certainly should be unsalted but I wonder if roasted would be better for a bird than raw.
So I have been seeing your videos and I clicked on one subscribed
If you do, I will Liam Nesson all over you >.>
Things I constantly hear or see from parrot owners...
*facepalm*
Them - My parrot can live off an all seed diet, the seed bag says its nutritional!
Enjoyed this episode. What are your thoughts on giving birds raw peanuts?
A treat every now and then, never hurts, whoever says it does... should re-think, I spoil my Blue Throated Conure, idc.
Parsley holds Iron. Maybe that is why.
thx for the tip catherine
Love it that we have the same name!

Have a great day 😊
@@sophiethehuman4469 Thank you so much!

Victoria Ryann
Thank you for answering.
Thank you!
Popples is adorable and fluffy and can I steal?

Can you help me with my green cheek conure? She loves to come outside the cage. But she doesn't like when I try to pick her up with my hand, shes only okay with me picking her up with a hanger. She just climbs on it and I take her to her cage. How can I make her trust me.
When you pick her up do not take her to the cage. Take her AWAY from the cage and spend time with her.
Hi love your videos. I have a quaker parrot. Hes chill but sometimes he randomly bites my hand. Please help
But I'll try to help you in any way I can ☺️
Victoria Ryann Thanks 😊
I give my senegal parrot anir what ever he shares my food if he likes in morning he get's his chop well my personal cooking recipe which he loves then bout lunch times he gets what ever i get and sometimes like after noon when we just chiliing round 5pm he'll get a snack sometimes chocolate sometimes ice cream evry thing what ever i have that moment it's same philosophy he should enjoy his life too not just how long he'll live well you can balance it it's like a cheat day and i promiss my baby is really healthy and happy when i take him for vet chekups 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi, my female parrotlet doesn't like to play much and she only seems to want to sit on my shoulder all the time.
I can't move my bird at 4am when I go to work so she has a giant cage for when im at work then out with me all evening and all weekend with me but during the day she had a giant cage to play in
Sorry hit the wrong button. BooBoo says peekaboo and baby now that I know what to listen for all because of Popples.
Haha you're fine!!! How exciting though I'm so happy for you and BooBoo this is great news. I bet you two have a lot of fun together when he says stuff like that!!! I'll let Popples know the good news as well 😉 this is really cool that he was a reason it helped BooBoo

Actually, Maroon bellied conures are totally different species. They are closely related, but different species. They are in the same genus.
Good video!! Just be sure to split their tongues so they'll talk. LOL

I think that a bird means the biggest gauge is possible even though it’s such a big cage the bird was still want to come out in the word boots get the time Skyler selves no spaces Andy Lin thank you for taking your job Aldo needs and wants and they will want to come out of their cage because how have you been working space and if you want to give them food and water when you come I think the quietness I find it quite useless to say that if I have a big change the stairwell I know why you say that my brother always educator only in the cage with nighttime quite huge but they still want to hear they were really never go away because in the cage it’s really big but they have an entire room they can come out and explore👍👎🏿🦜

It looks like you are talking to someone off camera. Looking into the camera lense will make it more personal.

I don't think sunflower seeds should fall into the myth category, since too many are clearly bad for the bird. You seem to be preaching moderation, which is a sensible approach to almost anything that isn't fatal.
YesYes
