Yeah but tbh many running backs have accomplished 2,000 yards. No player in history has dominated both sides on the ball. In almost every game he had ova 100 snaps. I’m not talking special teams & wide receiver or cornerback & special teams. Starting Wide Receiver on Offense & Starting Cornerback on Defensive. His only rest is special teams 🤣. That running back is the new Beast Mode 2

Just my perspective but I think JEANTY had the best season in college this yr but at the same time is not the best player in college football. Both players are deserving of the award but I think that Travis is the best football player in college. It can't be ignored that nobody in the History of college football has done what he has. You could argue JEANTY isn't even the best running back in college football. It's very subjective but you could argue Dylan Sampson for Tennessee is a better running back because of all the SEC defenses he had to face every week. They are all great players.

For those who never played football please don’t take offense to this because it’s not meant to be that way. The simple fact the he played BOTH SIDES of the ball at the college level/ half of the games at altitude IS AMAZING in and of itself. The mental and physical toll that takes on the human body is beyond amazing. NOW, he did that at a HIGH level which make this argument of did he deserve it null and void. The level of conditioning and athleticism and then mental preparation it takes to do what he did is nothing short of unbelievable.

Shameful. Think if this was your son or daughter what you would feel. Lift everyone up. Jeanty is a beast, Cam fought hard for what he has, Gabriel is the captain of the best team in the country. It’s sad to be honest . I honestly blame the media , not all media but some . I’ve watched them start a narrative about Travis hunter and from that time everything went up in flames . People are questioning his character , calling him arrogant .. I been following the kid since he was in highschool . Anyone who knows him , has played with him and been close with him will tell you he’s the most genuine person . He literally does with he says , plays football , plays videos games and fishes , that’s it’s and that’s all . I think prime and the whole Colorado thing also played a part , people really just don’t like what Colorado has going on . People don’t like prime , he’s bold and flashy . I knew things took a turn when people started calling Travis “ average and mid “… like let’s be serious here .. I don’t think he would be projected a 1st round pick if he was “ mid “. We have to keep in mind NFL scouts were at his every practice and game , dissecting every play . They don’t just go off stats without context and highlights , that understand the talent he is . And unfortunately it’s too many casuals online and hate thrives and goes viral on social media very easily . I guarantee you not one person on here can go on twitter/X , search “ Travis hunter “, and not find people talking negatively about him as if he’s done something to them personally .. sad mad

The 2 backup running backs at Boise State averaged 7.0 and 6.0 yards per carry. The fullback averaged 4.5 yards per carry. Boise St, has a great offensive line and they ran the ball more than they passed. And they forced fed Jeanty. Any starting running back from the SEC would’ve put up similar numbers at Boise State. Numerous 2,000 yard running backs didn’t win the Heisman.
And for people calling this a popularity contest, a lot of people in the media have been hating on Colorado all year. So how good did Hunter have to be for some of them to still vote for him. They could’ve easily given it to Jeanty.

I think Travis Hunter should definitely been in the conversation for simply attempting the feat of playing both ways and then actually pulling it off. Honestly a lot more very high caliber CBs or WRs could play both ways many even do earlier in their college careers, but the injury risk and fatigue (which further increases injury risk) frankly doesn't make it worth it. So definitely major props for that sheer feat of athleticism! Additionally I agree that he deserves no hate or personal shots, that is just gross and egregious and probably a knock-on effect of the Deion hate which I also can't get behind... however, I do think it is also pretty clear that Jeanty should have won the Heisman. Historic levels of production that carries his team to the playoffs, no need to get any fancier than that.
I do wish you'd take some time off on fighting the culture wars or whatever it is you think you are doing. I used to think it was cute, but its just the same story over and over again at this point. Sure the hate is ridiculous, but its so old hat for the internet at this point we don't need to go over it. Its also reasonable for football-minded people to call Jeanty not winning a "snub" without taking anything away from Travis Hunter. Thinking Jeanty should have very clearly won is not necessarily a casual take and is not a shot at Hunter which you appear to conflagrate.

Josh, I heard Ashton Jeanty's comments right after the award ceremony shows he is a massive "Head Case". He is unable to acknowledge or recognize that a 2-Way player that was dominant at both positions will always beat out a 1-way player running back. Ashton Jeanty truly ignorantly believes he should have won over 2-way star Travis Hunter. Let that sink in. If I were an NFL owner or GM I would NOT draft him. He lacks the intelligence, maturity to recognize something that is good or great outside of himself.
If there were only 1-way players i.e. QB's, Running Backs in the Heisman Race he could make a successful argument he should have won but dominant 2-way players will alway outshine and win against 1-way players and the fact that Ashton Jeanty does not have the intelligence, the humility to understand that and move on is why I believe he is a "Head Case"/.

Both equally deserve it. Jeanty is a beast who almost single-handedly, has led his team to a CFP berth and is close to breaking Barry Sanders record. Meanwhile Trav is a unicorn who was 2nd in TD’s, 6th in receiving yards, while tallying 4 ints and 11 deflections. He was also ranked as the 3rd best corner and the 5th best receiver by PFF. In one season he was top 5 at 2 positions. Nobody has ever done that. Him winning the Biletnikoff and Bednarik was highly questionable. But in regard to the Heisman, he was deserving of it by being a player we have never seen before and by having the stats to back it up. Also W/L doesn’t matter. Tebow, Lamar, and many others have won it with 3 losses. Whether Travis or Jeanty won, it would’ve been valid. I’m not a big fan of Deion and Colorado, but I think peoples negative opinions on Colorado seeps into peoples opinions of Travis.

Travis Hunter is a unicorn. That being said, he undoubtably was the beneficiary of all of the hype that ESPN and FOX put on PRIME. Had it not happened, most of the country would not have ever heard of Travis Hunter, which would have been it's own travesty. To say that he wasn't a recipient of the Deion hype machine, is just in-genuine. This doesn't mean that he wasn't worthy of the hype and the Heisman, but had Jeanty been as well marketed by a celebrity such as PRIME, the outcome could have been different. It's not hate. It's just fact.

Dude, have you seen the level of competition (or lack thereof) that he did it against? He not only played in a glorified G5 league, but also didn’t face the top 3 teams in said league. He’s also disappointed in CU’s biggest games over the past 2 seasons. Oh, and he had probably the first overall pick in the draft throwing him the ball. Having top 5 stats does not necessarily mean he’s in the top 5 players at the position, at least under these circumstances.
And before anyone talks about Boise’s strength of schedule, (1) it’s not much worse than CU’s, and (2) Jeanty balled out when they faced Oregon. Hunter hasn’t done well against top completion.

Honestly worst take I’ve heard, the fact hunter won both the defensive player of the year and that wide receiver award was definitely bias no matter how you see it, he definitely should have been runner ups in those, but there were better wide receivers and defensive players than hunter, it extends to the heisman too, Jeanty got mad robbed, to see a running back to even come close to the rushing record and lead in every single stat is a generational talent and should definitely win the heisman over a good two way player that leads in no stats. Bringing the story of Hunter into this is also wild, Jeanty literally started playing football in Italy, went to America, played both ways in high school, got little to no offers cause he only broke out his senior year, went to Boise, killed it his sophomore year, turned down millions dollar offers from most powerhouse programs, and stuck with Boise, and will likely break the single season rushing record in the playoffs

Go look up the definition of what the Heisman is really about. It doesn't say the player with the best stats. Most outstanding player, recognizing excellence in performance, integrity, and hard work. Not anywhere in the actual definition does it say the award goes only to the #1 player in his position with the #1 stats. The award looks at the player overall and as a whole. That's why it's objectionable for those who get to vote.
