- Our original 1960 John Deere 830 yanking on the sled with the throttle set to idle. Listen to the pistons hammering away. It came equipped from the factory with a 472 cubic inch (7.7 liter) 16 to 1 compression 2 cylinder diesel engine. The tractor weighs 12,000+ pounds and the sled it's pulling weighs over 30,000 pounds.
All that power/torque and barely off idle. These 830's are awesome tractors. Looks stock right off it's weekly chores into competition. Nothing runs like a Deere.
And I LOVE the sound they make down there too. LOVE LOVE LOVE! My Father and I farmed with this 830, he bought it in the early 70's. It's completely stock and runs like a beast.
@@5litremania It's one strong tractor. I have a 1974 model 830 and it's a garden tractor compared to these older one's. It only weighs 4400 lbs and has a 3 cyl, that's only 2.5 liter! Not a tractor for a pulling contest. The sound of the 2 cylinder's are awesome.
There's no stoppin' that beast! I love it!!!
Just about to wring the tires off it, weren't he?! Poppin'
Johnny will pull anything, just as long as you're not in a hurry...
Great pull man love how those old girls lug down
It just keeps going and going and going... Sounds Great!
when the back tires look flat and the rpms are low, thats when its first getting into pulling mode :D
(6 months later hes still going) kinda like the energizer bunny.
omg that thing dont want to stop
Ive pulled against a lot of 2 bangers, but your 830 takes the cake
thing with deeres they will pull and pull and pull with no stopping especially the old ones

@@RJ1999x I knew you would be here. Tell me what AC had in 1960 to match this. IH had the 560 turning more RPM and a little more thru the pump plus a heavier duty trans and diff (compared to a 560) and called it a 660. MM had the GV I (with an available front wheel assist), Oliver had the 990 and 995, Case had the 600. Ford still had glorified 8Ns and Massey was buying from Oliver and MM. Now before you say anything about a snap coupler implement, this is shear power at the drawbar. I know Allis tractors had a drawbar. The Nebraska Tractor tests used them to find the maximum pull and the amount of fuel burned to achieve it. Did companies Dr. tractors to appear impressive? Probably. But when it didn't deliver, that was a good way to lose a customer and Nebraska Engineers frowned quite heavily on that behavior. After all, telling lies about a tractor is what brought them into existence. They sure were not about to lose credibility over a ringer. I would think a quick way to get fired and black balled from the Engineering Community, too.
Torque parecidos a esta bestia no se ven mas .........me parece .............lo miro y se me humedecen los ojos de la emocion...mi primer disqueada fue en un 730 modelo 1958 ...100*100 IMPORTADO
Damn!..paint the energizer bunny green cause that thing just kept going and going and......
Yes this 830 is pony started and no not all 830's are pony started, they also came equipped with an electric starting system.
never seen a pull that takes over 2 1/2 minutes before! LOL
