One of my favorite things about spidey is that his idea of an "easy, beginner-friendly trick" isn't just some self-operating thing; they are a good mix of the mentalism and the start to strong sleight of hand

Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed this week’s trick. Here are a few PRO TIPS
    1) as you noticed this video was a little longer than my other ones. The performance was longer as well. But this trick is not about that last moment it’s about the whole journey. Don’t rush it, take your time, have fun with it.
    2) a few of you mentioned this. You don’t HAVE to reveal that you know their card before you turn it over. There are two ways to look at it 1- squeeze as much magic as you can out of it and do the peek 2- keep it all about the spectator and forget the peek, it’s not important. I see value in both. Try it both ways and see what you like
    3) after you get their card to the bottom of the deck, feel free to throw in a shuffle that leaves the card at the bottom if you know any. It’ll make it seem like the card is really lost in there.
    4) there is nothing stopping you from just doing the first move twice instead of the Vernon addition, if you want to save time; it works great. The Vernon addition is cool though because they can choose individual cards and it’s fun for them. Especially in person when they touch the ones they want.

Awesome trick Spidey! I tried using the "Convincing Control" you showed in a previous video instead of the double undercut, and am having a lot of fun with that (shown here: ruclips.net/video/nHQZojNUsVs/видео.html)

You know one of the things I really like about you and your videos, as a person like myself who mainly just loves magic and learning how it's done but hasn't really tried to do it?
I watched this video and one of my immediate thoughts was "I really don't like how he did the intuition thing to reveal he knows the card. I think I might leave a comment about that."
And instead, I scroll down, and boom, there you are addressing it. You're either thinking ahead to what people might say or giving constructive feedback on what people say.

The way of keeping the bottom card regardless of wichever packet they choose is so simple yet so effective. I've been doing more and more mentalism since my friends seem to love it and this is yet another way to have them make a choice that doesn't really matter (but they think it did).

Another wonderful trick by Spidey! I really like the way you can choose the top or the bottom and your telling them we WILL keep these cards, not just eliminating or keeping depending on what they said. Excellent way of controlling the card to the bottom of the deck and not just looking at it for no apparent reason, but pointing at something and getting a sneak peak. The way I am probably going to use this trick is by using 3 tricks in one performance. So this one, the colour changing deck you taught us, and the 3 most important cards trick with Ace, 2 and 3 of spades, which you performed with orbit playing cards! Thankyou!!! 👍

The “force” in this video is worth so much. It will save me from needing to “magicians force” in the future. You know, pick one and I’ll tell you what I’m going to do with it. That pseudo-force is soooo clean!
I’m going to use the whole performance as is. So good! Thanks spidey!

Now this is definitely going to my pseudo-hypnotic PK routine...This is a perfect trick to do with couples... Give them a little lecture about how love connects or synchronises minds then make them relax and ask one of them to select the card and write it down on a piece of paper or something and make sure no one knows what the card is. Then after somehow making them synchronize with eachother ask the other one to narrow down to one card using this method....and then the dramatic reveal.... Then proceed with pk effects like the ones from 'touched' by Morgan Stabler.

Giving the spectator the power over the trick always feels best to perform. The reactions are always baffling and your presentation with all those little reminders, that the spectator really has the choice is pretty convincing. As for myself, who started doing magic only 6 months ago (but in an intensity which I never had before. Like there is no hour in the day without me having a card deck in my hands. I'm lucky my roommates don't get annoyed by me :D), I am first gonna try to do the trick just as performed but try to really take my time and don't rush things, which is my biggest problem at the moment. Build up is key to an awesome reveal!
Thanks for your detailed tutorials 🥰

  • @g.tucker8682

Very cool! If I do this virtually, I wouldn't use the divination at all. Lots of people are familiar with the riffle force, so I think the divination would lead them to assume the card is forced (even though it isn't) and that reduces the impact.
In person, I'll use a more fair-seeming card control, and then the divination could be added back if I have the right kind of spectator for that. Thanks, can't wait to try it!

Because I don’t have big hands. I am going to use this trick with the breathers crimp card to bring it to the top and then bring the card to the bottom . If I keep the pinky break the break is clearly seen . I just am going to use this a lot I have a lot of birthdays of my friends coming up and I am going to use this trick .

Thanks Spidey.. I know it has been a week since you posted this video.. I have been practicing it till then.. I just wanted to tell you the whole story of last night.. I hope you go through this comment... I little modified this trick.. I have some magician friends.. so last night I went to them and instead I forced them my selection like 8 of diamond and rather asked them to sign the card.. Morever I used an envelope where I wrote a fake scenario like " Today date is 5/7 and tomorrow I am gonna perform a trick where Smith is going to choose and sign a card which will be 8 of diamond".. I got a really wow reaction from everyone.. Thank you so much Spidey.. your tricks means a lot for me.. Everytime I tag you on my reels so one day you might recognise me.. I just hope I get a reply on this one

Ingenious method. Thanks Spidey. When I do this trick, I modified the technique a little regarding getting a pinky break on the selection at the bottom: it’s much simpler and easier by doing the pinky pull down on the bottom card. It’s more hidden. And for starting magicians, watch your angles when doing this trick.

Loved this trick. I always struggle with double lifts so I like that you don't have to lift it for this, just pull back, hopefully that will help for practicing the double lift!
I will be practicing this one and trying it out. The only thing I think I might change is the reveal at the end. When you predict the card they chose and then reveal it, it makes it seem more like a force to me, and they really do have a free choice. Just my opinion! Love the channel and love you, keep it up!!!

Amazing trick Spidey, completely blew me away. Can't wait to make it part of my routine. The only thing I would change is not guessing the spectator's card at the end, and letting them turn it over for the big reveal. It gives the spectator the illusion of control. Instead, if the magician reveals that he knows their card, the spectators might feel that this card was somehow forced.

  • @tebi8812

Wow what a brilliant illusion!!! I have seen many tricks on youtube but this is by far one of my favourite. I am between beginner - advanced magician and my wife is the first person I show new tricks to, however I perform them too quickly and hastily. This leads to my wife developing quite good eyes for sleight of hand etc. The Dai Vernon sleight of hand was completely new to me, but I practiced it 15 times and was then able to perform it quite well. All in all, my wife was completely amazed and was happy for me to show her a trick that I can perform from start to finish without blinking :D
However, my Double Undercat seems too obvious, I didn't think such a basic move would cost anything in credibility.
    However, very great illusion!

Meeting up with more family and friends there and this will be my opportunity to present this one. Pretty much will go as you show it, but won't let the live spectators touch/point to the cards they want, I'll have them say 'stop'. I'm a newbie in card magic, and yesterday I had done a very simple trick to my friends, with a paper card deck that I borrowed from my son, and they had enjoyed it too much.
Your tricks just blew my mind away, and that last one is now one of my favourites. I will try my best to engage learning slight of hand with my son's paper card deck and try to amaze my friends and my little boy in the future.
Hope you keep simplifying those moves to make easier for me to do some slight of hand in his small paper card deck.
    Peace yo! ✌

Wow Spidey, another beautiful effect that leaves the spectator spellbound! Spidey, you always outdo yourself! When I see one of your amazing performances, I think, there’s no way Spidey will ever do anything better than this and then, BOOM, it happens and you do it! Wow!
As for me, I don’t think I would say anything at the end! It will be more powerful if I’m just like a secretary taking orders from the spectator and have no idea what the spectator’s card is! That eliminates that I might have manipulated the card you picked and somehow peeked and forced anything since I don’t know what it is at the end! More mystery! But either way will amaze any spectator!
    Thanks again,
    Your friend,
    Barry

Love the trick exactly as it is and as soon as I'm done writing this I will try to perform it just like this to my wife and blow her mind, things like this she always says she's going to throw the cards, book, or whatever prop the trick entails on our roof. Perfect example was doing Toxic for a book test that was her own book and phone and she actually did throw it on our roof because we were outside 😂. I've been using No Choice Wallet with blanks lately and it just slays every layperson. I'm going to try and incorporate the idea of "no choice" by maybe toying with some deck switches or roughing cards(I E, their card ends up being the "only blue back" suddenly) or something along those lines. These are just my first intial thoughts but I have a bunch of ideas floating around. Either way thank you for another great tutorial and for just being an all around awesome guy!

To me, not making a prediction or saying what their card is makes the trick stronger. By essentially admitting you knew what the card is makes it more apparent you manipulated the deck until their card was chosen in the end. Love the trick, but I'll be leaving the personal intuition out of it. Thank you so much for posting--loved learning a new force.

Honestly, I think this trick is really good. I like the fact that it can be performed by people who aren’t that experienced with magic, and the best part is that it can be done with any regular deck of cards, so I don’t need to go an buy some kind of gimmick card. I can see myself using the trick as is h front of people at school or at random meetups and events. Although, I would most likely use a double-lift solution in case they think that the top card is their’s. All in all, this was a great trick and I love how it makes the spectator feel very in-control, this was incredible and I hope to see more ordinary deck tricks like this one!!! 😁👏👏👏♥️♣️♦️♣️

What a banger trick Spidey!! Another week of an epic video!😍😍.
I would perform this trick for a couple or for two people who are very close to each other and know each other very well. First I would let one of them to choose a card and not show them apart from himself/herself. And the other part of the trick I would perform with their other half. So my idea of this trick would be to establish this trick around the connection between the both of them. I think this would fit my style of performing as well.

I liked this trick a lot Spidey. It's super nice to have a trick that is performed by the spectator, while not being a self-working trick. I am not good enough to modify it at this stage, so I will probably use it as is. I usually do some tricks for friends etc., and I like to use magic to create a connection with people rather than for shows, so I feel this will be good to switch from a "I fooled you" kind of trick to a "you fooled yourself" one 😀

As usual an awesome card trick again. But literally it is an amazing trick where the spectator himself chooses his/her card at the end, taking this card trick on next level 🔥
I have learnt many cool card tricks from this channel and this card trick is going to be one of my favorites..

Wonderful trick! I'm really into tricks right now that are totally impromptu, no set up needed, and could be done without a table!
My only handling change would be at the beginning with riffling through the cards because I'm a lefty. I'll probably hold the deck in dealers grip in my right hand, and riffle the top angled at the spectator with my left. Otherwise I loved it and wouldn't change a thing!

This magic needs patience .But as Aristotle says " Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet". Spidey, this magic is so awesome, even though it takes time to perform its ending is a killer . Since I'm a beginner I'm gonna perform this according to the video.

One of the most mind blowing card tricks I saw a long time ago that always stuck with me, was a variation of this but they tell you to memorize a card as they flip through it quickly, but don't have you stop them or ask anything, then they produce the card you memorized.
As I got older I think the trick is done by purposely slowing down enough on a single card, then using a pinky brake on that for the shuffle at the end. Ive tried to emulate it to trick other people myself but I think you need A+ dexterity to pull it off, something I do not possess lol.

Simple and elegant 🔥....an absolutely beautiful trick. One of the best things about this channel is that instead of learning one trick per video, you learn various moves within the trick that can be used in other tricks, like in this video- getting a break below the spectators choice, elimination of a half while keeping their card, and the dai vernon add on. Also i get to know about a lot of great books and some history of magic😂❤️

I love that half deck force, instead of the double undercut to control their acts to the bottom, I think I would make it less suspicious by doing a turnover pass. I would also instead of “mind-reading” their card before turning the card over, do a special and creative reveal of their card by unzipping my (zipped-up) jacket, showing my t-shirt with a card on it. Thank you for this awesome trick packed with fooling sleight of hand and giving a lucky someone a chance to win those slick decks

The way the trick delivers the illusion of being completely random messes up with the mind is astounding 🤩 Mr. Spidy, the effect is mind blowing 🤯. I would like to put a little mentalism tricks at the start that would make them think I am controlling their decision for an instance 😂😆(Came up with this while watching the video , might add few more while practicing 😝). Thank you Mr. Spidy for sharing such awesome routine.

Hey Spidey I've ben watching ur channel since a long time and I really really love the entire presentation of this trick this is such an impromptu masterpeice and how little sleight of hand moments cause people to go nuts obviously after learning this trick I'm going to apply my own spice into it like in the last revealing the card I can add a bit mentalism reading their mind and more stuffs
(P.s. - The cool thing I like about magic is that it's like putting a ring on the finger , and people are left with no regrets but happy memories)

This force from Encyclopedia of Impromptu Card forces is particularly good for this type of presentation. Looks so natural in the flow. Using which force when, is an important aspect I think.
Also this Over the Shoulder view is good for learning some of the sleights as you don't have that many videos on RUclips explaining from this POV.
