Great testing again, thanks. I've used Avani Casting Max Power PE (PE5) and it was awesome for casting, however I have 1. no idea how it compares to the 'Hiramas Tune' and 2. how it;s abrasion resistance compares t this line.
I understand it may be a "premium" product, but based on the price difference between this and let's say ygk x8 upgrade compared to the real world benefits it may have (if any) over the ygk, I can't say it seems justified.
Hi @linelaboratory, I shared your page on FB to promote your awesome work. One thing that was remarked is the lack of a durability test. Do you plan to implement it in the future? It would be awesome since durability (and consistency of quality) is very important for those who fish often. The best line is worthless if it degrades fast. If you need ideas for a setup let me know.
Definitely something I have been considering, and I have a few ideas on how to achieve a standardized accelerated weathering test which will allow us to subject the line to extended use in harsh conditions. Shoot us a message via the contact page on the website.
@@thelinelaboratory no there was a gentlemen who's videos are on youtube who did a bunch of testing 2-7 years ago and has a dropbox excel spreadsheet with all of the data on it. What you guys are doing is much more elegant, but you cover a lot of the same information. Again, so grateful for your work, it's amazing how off the information is that line manufacturers release!
I did the testing. For heavier line, Berkley Pro Spec is much better in 65 lbs and 80 lbs test. Tensile strength is 350,000 -400,000 PSI. You will find that when you test heavier line, most of them will not measure up to the tensile strength of most 10-20 lbs braid. Manufacturers seems to switch to a lower grade spectra or dyneema when braiding thicker line to reduce cost. There's double the raw material from 20 lbs to 40 lbs test and if they are charging the same $/yds, they are making not as much. Generally line with ABS of 10-30 lbs have the highest tensile strength compare to thicker line made by the same company. The exception is Berkley, Tasline, Maxcuatro and Yozuri. Yozuri is bargain basement price with excellent tensile strength.
Tend to agree - the tests don't show any significant benefit however Varivas say that the casting and durability are improved and that was the main theory behind this line. Unfortunately both of those things are not something we can easily test. Would love to hear feedback from anybody that's used it for an extended duration.
And thank you for testing some heavier lines!!!
Спасибо Вам за то, что делаете это для нас!!!
Thank you for experimenting with thick lines.
Superb work. Respect

Hello! What monofilament line do you use when testing the FG knot? Congratulations on the tests, very nice and precise work.👍
Just some pretty cheap stuff. I have everything from 10-200lb and will pick something that breaks just above what I expect the braid to break at.
Maxcuatro 80 is.473mm with a tensile strength of 372414 (101ABS), give me the MC every time! Pretty pedestrian PSI on this Varivas!
Did you do the testing on that one?

@@aquaholiklee Spot on mate
@@aquaholiklee That's such great info! I was wondering why all the lighter lines tested at such a better tensile strength.
Is their a casting test for cast whair and longevity of
usedge.
Not specifically, that's a hard one to do for hundreds of lines.
cheers
Please test varivas jigging x8 10x10
It has been tested in PE3, summary results are on the website
Can you test jerry brown or cortland hollow core braid
Funny you say that, i have just been able to get my hands on some Jerry Brown hollow today, so i should be able to take a closer look soon.
@@thelinelaboratory sounds good I appreciate it
Question when’s the video coming out ?
The price tag is outrageous. I'd buy a cheaper line and spend the rest on lures and bait.

I’ll probably save my money and buy some more lures next time too bro🤙 #youhavetobuytotry😅
😂 Appreciate your contribution man 👌
Love the line testing bro!🤘 Someone has to buy to try, otherwise we will never know.🫡
