Thanks for the walk through. You’re like the only Evo owner that gets it. Some of the instructions just aren’t that clear! Thanks to you, I have a new set of Öhlins on mine today.
Wow great video. I didn't expect to learn much but wow. I'm fully building my car and would of never known about the camber bolt, probably just use random torque, and have had issues with my trunk liner falling in... hope you have more videos.
Thank you!!! Best tutorial on RUclips, if you could make a video on adjustments? I like how you explain everything! Keep up the good work brother! Love the build! SUBSCRIBED 🤙🏽
Just found your channel thank you for the great content and info. I bought my 2010 new and now I’m starting to work on it. Can you tell me how these coil overs are holding up for daily driving? Thanks
Very nice. I bought an evo with these on them already and need to figure out how to adjust because his fitment preference was not what I'm looking for.
Just want to give you a big THANKS for making this video. Today my son and I installed Tein Z Flex coilovers on his 2011 Evo X GSR. No way we could have accomplished this without your help. We both feel super good today about doing it ourselves. Car handles so much better and the drop looks great. Next he wants to get some after market wheels/tires without having to roll the fenders. Any recommendations? Thanks again!!!
Also would like to add, you know the white plastic piece that holds the brake line in place that clips onto the strut? We didn't have one on the front left side. Do you know what part that is and where I can get one? Thanks in advance. BTW, I'm a Tampa native as well. Robinson H.S.
Parfive Wow what a compliment!!!! So glad this gave you guys a confidence to tackle this project and so glad to hear it went great! After market wheels are tricky because of offset and depending on the width you go. I’m currently on a 18x9.5” which is 1” wider then the stock 8.5” width and a 265 tire. With that I did have to do a very minimal modifications to the rear but did have to a little. Keeping stock width with a new wheel I would think would guarantee you to fit without fender touching but again it depends on multiple things. How wide, how low, etc. Wish I could give you a more direct answer
Parfive Dam Tampa too! That’s awesome. Funny you say it a 2011 and are missing that little white frame clip thing. This past weekend I installed a set on teins on a 2011 and one side was missing it too? Either way I would go to Mitsubishi part department and have them pull the part up. They can directly order it and also pull up a details diagramof each part of the car to find the part #
Hey man, just found your channel and loving your vids. I wanted to ask about your experience with the tein coils. Previous to my evo, I had a set of cheaper coils on my ralliart that also had camber adjustment top hats in the front. They were loud as HELL. I'm all good with raw sounds, but this was terrible, creaky and very unnatural. I had lots of people tell me thats what you get with camber plates on coils... Anyways, I had a friend who put the KW V3 set in his Evo (which retain the factory top hats up front) and the ride was PERFECT in my opinion, let alone no noise - same as stock. Since then Ive wanted the V3s, but there are cheaper alternatives, and as mentioned earlier if i go that route I wont have camber plate adjustments (not that i am looking to run anything aggressive). I ask about your experience with the teins as they are very similar to the set I had previously, are they noisy? Do you recommend? Thanks man keep up the great content.
S S Thanks weird they shouldn’t have made any noise ever. Possibly install incorrectly?? Either way I love mine for years no with zero complains. They don’t make any noise, solid suspension and major upgrade from stock
Great video .. I plan on buying the same coils. So when it comes to adjusting how do I go about doinfg that? Did you adjust yours before putting them on or was that thr way they came? Also come inspection time we have laws wehre we can only lower 2" from stock hight so i would need to know how to adjust to make higher.
Thanks for watching. It’s explained In this video where the adjustment points are plus here’s a separate video I made on adjustments -> ruclips.net/video/aYOZUZGIAhg/видео.html
Did mine and 1 starting leaking oil. My coilover was lower than the two bolt holes. I had to push up on the coilover to compress the stem. I dont see how that would cause it to leak. Kwv3
Appreciate the videos! Probably stupid question but if you could go back would you grease those bolts? I found mine so difficult to get back in I feel like I should of put grease on them
Eric I’ve done multiple installs on these and haven’t ever felt like it’s needing to be done. The key thing is to have it aligned perfectly with assistance from a jack and rubber mallet tap it in. That being said adding grease wouldn’t hurt the process
When you installed the front passenger, you put the camber bolt in from the other side of how it was originally. Does that mean you face the arrow on the bolt towards the car or facing away?
ggwp not sure what your referencing? I shows it all. Jack up the rear subframe and rest it on jack stands. After that you only use it to align the new coilover shown @19:10.
Hey man you got any idea what i can do when that 12mm nut behind the oem strut is stuck on (the stud spins with the nut). I've tried prying the nut underneath as i wrench it off and no bueno
That bolt going threw is just under pressure from the suspension being together. I would get a pin punch or small screw driver and carefully hammer tap it out. Could also jack up part of the suspension to relieve pressure to get out easier.
@@xtra_slo1596 sweet ty, I have a question also I just got a final edition and was looking into some enkei wheels but I dont wanna mess with the back fenders any recommendations of the wheel size I should get or can I run the same wheel size that u have just smaller tire size, thanks in advance.
iGxCarnage same wheel size and smaller tire width might work but it’s gonna be close. Mine were only rubbing a little bit but enough to where it needed a small modification

MrWaters910 Thanks for watching and glad this helped get the job done! Goal is always to make videos that anyone can follow easy! 🙌🏼
You wouldn’t happen to know how to remove the stock turbo and have a video about it? 🤔
MrWaters910 yes I know how to take it off but no video as of now. Local friend will be upgrading soon and hope to make a video then
This is the kind of video i need, detailed and neat. Great job man.
Don Jon Great! Thanks for watching 👍🏼
I love this step by step DETAILED how to video! Awesome job and makes it that much easier for us, the viewer, when we install ours. So thanks again!
Doing my coilovers this weekend - thank you for the very helpful video!
Very detailed video on the install, now I'm confident doing the install on my own car, by myself. Many THANKS.
Serey Tu 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 glad to hear this is helping!!! 100% goal
Great detailed video man, thanks so much for the clear instructions!

hey man great video, this is a more basic question, what jack do you use and where under the car do you use as jacking points?

YourLeader Keep looking through my videos and you’ll find a coil over adjustment one
Thanks I found it bro. Subscribed.
Nice video! A video detailed the coilover adjustments in detail would be cool but you probably already did them. Subscribed.
Adam S thanks! I’ll try making a video adjusting them on the car. Super easy! 👍🏼

Could u please make video bout evo X cams removal
hey bro have u got a part number for the top and bottom bolts (on the front strut where the top one is for camber adjustment) ?
Been 2 years since you installed these, do you still recommend these for dailys?
Did you adjust the height on the coilover before the install or after you put it on the car

I put these on today. Straight out of box. Was I supposed to adjust the camber???
I have the same suspension on mine

Jesse Martinez both sides the arrow is pointing in towards the car.
Did u mess with the camber and toe yet?
hey man i see in the rear you put the bottom strut/control arm bolt in backwards, would that cause any problems?
No
Where do you put the jack in the back ? After you jack it up from rear sub frame
ggwp not sure what your referencing? I shows it all. Jack up the rear subframe and rest it on jack stands. After that you only use it to align the new coilover shown @19:10.
For the rear suspension. Do you have any issues with the rear coilovers rubbing against the cv boot??
Bruce Guevara No I haven’t had any rubbing
Hey man you got any idea what i can do when that 12mm nut behind the oem strut is stuck on (the stud spins with the nut). I've tried prying the nut underneath as i wrench it off and no bueno
If I’m thinking correct there is a Allen key hole in the stud and you hold while using a wrench
Are those the Tien Flex Z? How do you like them?
Aric Tran yes they are and I like them a lot 👍🏼

Al Sa Na from Tampa,FL

Xtra_Slo muy buenos tus videos gracias por tu trabajo
what spring rate you got?
Tein flex Z’s are 504lbs/in in the front and 448lbs/in rear Or 9k Front and 8k Rear
Has anyone had a problem with the rear bolt not wanting to slide out? If so how do I get it out?
That bolt going threw is just under pressure from the suspension being together. I would get a pin punch or small screw driver and carefully hammer tap it out. Could also jack up part of the suspension to relieve pressure to get out easier.
