    I don’t know what other films are going to be in the running for Best Costume next Oscar season, but if Ms. Carter’s work isn’t acknowledged it will just be a crime.

    Finally, fashion that respects women, in a movie that respects women. No one was covered up or overexposed. The women looked and seemed smart, beautiful, strong, and confident. More!

    The fashion in this movie is wonderful. African prints are really hot right now. I hope that it continues and more futuristic african clothing is more available.

HOPEFULLY THIS MOVIE WILL INSPIRE MORE BLACK MALES TO TAKE PRIDE IN WHO THEY ARE and hopefully they will stop wearing sagging pants . Dr Martin Luther King Jr. said only when your back is bent can someone ride it. So black boys please pull up your pants and take pride in who you are because WE Come From Greatness. truth to be told.

      It's a Continent not a country, Dunderhead!! . Some of the countries in Africa are literally first world. South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles & Morocco are very developed. It's western propagandists ignorance and stupidity that fools the world to think Africa is a backward "country" yet in real sense its a Continent with over 50 countries some developed some not.

    This is not futurism! Actual Africans are confused by the mishmash of cultures and accents in one place. Exactly what is her scholarly background in technology that makes her an authoritative source for anything futuristic?

    • @miketheman4341
      @miketheman4341 6 лет назад

      ExtraRareTrumpSteak
      No that is science fantasy! Nothing about vibranium is futuristic. It’s a mythical substance that is not apart of anything theorists believe could ever exist.
      One it violates everything we know of any substance in the universe and secondly it is supposed to be a substance that gives superhuman powers.
      Again fantasy not science fiction and not futuristic science.
      Star Trek communicators we’re science fiction. They had a basis in science.

    • @bobby12348

      Steve Jovan Her job !!

    • @miketheman4341
      @miketheman4341 6 лет назад

      Brenda Irby
      Wrong this is her describing what she is doing! I guarantee that there is nothing regarding the term futurism in any contract she signed. That is a term she uses and does so wrongly.
      See actual futurists and their work. Star Trek is futurism ie science fiction. This is fantasy akin to Star Wars. There is an entire body of scholarship in the field none of which references her. Why???
      Because actual futurism is not being done in or for entertainment. It’s a serious scholarly field.
      You don’t get to call yourself something and therefore you become said thing. Hint being hired to do work on a comic book film does not make anyone a futurist.
      Watch her interview. She was hired to integrate African culture into the film. She admits it’s a fantasy while technical advisors for actual futurism are the best among the best minds in the scientific community. They are attempting to make science fiction not science fantasy.
      They are hired to insure that the science is right not that the costumes look like something that might find in a fictional land.

    • @bobby12348
      @bobby12348 6 лет назад +1

      Steve Jovan get a life she been doing this for a lots of movie. Shm 😒😚

    • @miketheman4341
      @miketheman4341 6 лет назад

      Brenda Irby
      What does that have to do with being qualified as a futurist?
      One she has done this for exactly one film! This one!
      List her past work on Afrofuturism.
      There is none!
      Secondly this is not futurism by definition. It’s fantasy. Hint there is a difference.
      Try doing some actual research before posting. She is a costume designer not a futurist! What qualifies her to know anything about the future of anything?? Futurists are highly educated people that spend years researching where science is taking society. What has she ever done in this field? What has she ever studied on this topic? Where?
      She is a self declared futurist despite having no scholarly background in any related field of study. Costume design is not a field within the the study of futurism.
      Clearly you have never read anything about this topic.
