oluviarxo I think you're right. Its understandable, however, I worry for those who really need thrift stores to be affordable. Going green should not come at their expense.
Its been going on for awhile. I cant afford value village/savers anymore. Salvation army has gone up too. As much as i want to reduce, reuse, recycle its just cheaper to buy new. Luckily i only wear black, grey so its mainly basics.
@@jetta.silence6356 You gotta do what you gotta do. I'm usually having to shop new as well, if I can't find something second hand. So then as I'm shopping for new stuff, I just try to consider whether the material of what I'm interested in is going to hold up for a while. If stuff feels "cheap" I don't buy it.
Ha ha yes. In Scotland and we have just been hit with a big storm yesterday (gale force winds/ flooding). Today has been a combination of rain/sleet/snow/hail/thunder and lightning/thundersnow and a little bit of sun. It feels pretty cold today. Spring feels pretty far off for me. Even March and April can be a bit chilly and usually it rains a lot. June/July is generally the earliest it feels warm enough to go out without some form of jacket.
I’m so glad you’re conscious about pricing, a lot of people will see a nice brand and think $24 for a very used item is fine, when it’s not. I try to stay under $12 for anything!
Try American Way in Burbank! It's a local thrift store and so the prices are super duper low. It may be a bit cramped and no, it does not have changing room, but they always have discounts and things are super duper cheap. It would definitely be different.
i wear a cami top and leggings with slip on shoes when i thrift - easy to try on stuff without undressing - even in the aisles when the dressing rooms are booked! i agree thrift prices are going up - what's with that!
I feel like that Brandy skirt would actually look cute af with some bike shorts peeking out from it! Slap on some docs and a funky shirt or even a sweatshirt/sweater and you have a LOOK!
Oh my goodness I nearly flipped when I saw that pink Eiffel Tower dress it’s a Bernie Dexter dress and I would go nuts if I saw one in my local thrift shop.
I’m so happy you picked up the silky cheetah print skirt; it is stunning on you. Yay to Macy for inspiring you to try button ups and shoulder pads, too.
I love that eyore top you picked out I’m in New Zealand and mostly thrift for Disney stuff and denim those Disney type of clothing can be a rare find here
Girl, I live in Georgia last week in was 70 this week the highs are all in the upper 30s and we got snow yesterday its ridiculous. We can't put any clothes up for the season we also cant take our air conditioners out of the windows lol.
I'm so jealous that you and Carrie always find crew neck sweatshirts. I live in the Midwest and you'd think they would be all over, but I literally never can find sweatshirts at my thrift stores here.
Oh I can't even imagine Spring, lucky you, still thinking about why winter started in the fall, don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and I love layering, just hoped it had started a bit later. Peace and blessings. Namaste 🌻🦋
Omg I LOVE that like leopard skirt you found! I’ve been looking for something like that for so long 😭 Also that off the shoulder checkered top looked so amazing on you. I’m also so ready for spring... but it is currently snowing where I live lol
ALEXA! I couldn’t wait for your vid today for a plethora of reasons... 1 of which is because I NEED to tell you that my mom and I went to our local Salvation Army yesterday and we got 15 items for $27! The majority of the items were for my kiddos but (in your words) holy cannoli!!!!!!! Thank YOU for inspiring me to get into thrifting! 😍😘
Jodi MacDougall oh sh.... Stockholm Sweden it’s about -2C about minus 8 is about as cold as it’s gotten this year ie about 20-25 C too warm! We are going to have one interesting tick and mosquito season... ( never thought I’d complain about it being too warm )
1:22 "Oh, look at that cart on the left; I'm gonna choose that one for today's shopping exper-- No, actually, I'm gonna take your friend right beside you. Thanks, bye!" That felt like such a cringy 80's movie at a middle school dance with that typical excitement of being 'chosen' but the inevitable rejection instead and it just made me laugh real hard, lol :)
Oh, I have that long black flowery dress you tried on! I wore it to my friend’s wedding after I threw a beer on my actual dress right before the ceremony (I know, classy). Also, I discovered your channel like two weeks ago and I have to say that I’m totally addicted to your videos, I keep watching one after another! So hiii from the south of Spain, where it’s starting to feel like spring as well. I wish thrifting was a thing here and not almost as expensive as buying something new... but we’ll get there, and you are inspiring me to search more for second hand clothing online! Love your style and love your videos! :)
I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market today because I was inspired by you! Harley Davidson is so expensive there BUT I found a booth that sold Harley Davidson t-shirts, long sleeves and crew necks for $10!!!
Spring, in my area, is still pretty cold. So lately, since Fall colors seem to be what is on the runway, I've been wearing my fall colors lately and its fun!
Hey, you should come to Texas. I live in Houston and we have Family Thrift Centers, they’re really big and I’ve gotten so many things for super cheap prices. :) During my last thrift i got an Arizona denim jacket for $9.99 and some high heel play form boots from $12.99 there’s tons of shirts for $1 and for shirts the highest price I’ve seen is $7 and it was a Harley shirt so- hah Everything is sorted by color and they’re usually really organized. They also have dressing rooms with mirrors so that’s good. Definitely recommend coming. There’s also thrift stores called Texas Thrift Store. I haven’t been there, but they seem really cool
It's always interesting to see what is considered stylish in CA. I live in a small town in the midwest and would be straight up bullied if I wore half of this stuff
Love that you're thrifting spring clothing in the beautiful sunshine, meanwhile here in England there's literally a storm going on over my head right now and today I was woken up by rain so heavy I thought it was gonna break my window 😂😂 I can't talk tho, cos I thrifted a couple of cute, puff sleeve, frilly crop tops last week myself and can't wait till I can wear them. I just really want winter to be over at this point 😫 Love the skirts you found, and the Asos jeans are so gorgeous. Also that mustard yellow top is so you, clearly meant to be ❤
i love your style so so much! it is so lovely to see someone who has similar style and interests as me! you literally make my day when i watch one of your videos :)
Hi, I'm from Tennessee visiting relatives in the Fairfield California area. Couldn't wait to hit the California thrift stores! We went today for probably 3 hours, Savers in Vacaville. Found a few cool things. Hoping to hit few other thrift shops.
So cool! I have a thrifted, wrap style skirt from Loft that also looks like grandma curtains! Mine is a grey pattern, it is plus size and I got it for like $12. Love that pink one!!
I love your energy Alexa! I went to Goodwill this weekend and scored 6 pieces of transitioning to spring items for only $25! I'm surprised by the prices at the thrift shops out in California.
It seems like thrift store prices are going up.
I guess thrift stores are catching on that people take advantage of the low prices to resell at a higher price! 😔
oluviarxo I think you're right. Its understandable, however, I worry for those who really need thrift stores to be affordable. Going green should not come at their expense.
cat lover I agree. ☺️

Ha ha yes. In Scotland and we have just been hit with a big storm yesterday (gale force winds/ flooding). I’m so glad you’re conscious about pricing, a lot of people will see a nice brand and think $24 for a very used item is fine, when it’s not. I try to stay under $12 for anything!

Love the leopard skirt! I think it’s great that you’re experimenting but also being more thoughtful with your purchases.
Giving me Hayley Williams After Laughter era vibes with that lime green blazer and I was living for it!!!!
i wear a cami top and leggings with slip on shoes when i thrift - easy to try on stuff without undressing - even in the aisles when the dressing rooms are booked! i agree thrift prices are going up - what's with that!

I’m so happy you picked up the silky cheetah print skirt; it is stunning on you. Yay to Macy for inspiring you to try button ups and shoulder pads, too.

I'm so jealous that you and Carrie always find crew neck sweatshirts. I live in the Midwest and you'd think they would be all over, but I literally never can find sweatshirts at my thrift stores here.

ALEXA! Love this outfit from the beginning. You never wear that. Thanks for sharing this girl.
Love all items you bought.
We have a big storm here in The Netherlands. And the rest of the week won't be good eather.
So no spring yet.
I'm not really into the Harley trend, but I probably would've snagged that Harley hoodie (loved that the shirt underneath would show.
That yellow blazer is stunning! I love that you tucked it in! I‘d totally do the same 😊
That spotted silk skirt 😍😍😍 I keep trying to thrift something exactly like it! I hope to find one soon 😊

It was so so pretty!!!!
Love that you're thrifting spring clothing in the beautiful sunshine, meanwhile here in England there's literally a storm going on over my head right now and today I was woken up by rain so heavy I thought it was gonna break my window 😂😂

Happy sunny Sunday

It was super super cute, but for $24 I wasn’t in love enough with it 💛 I’m excited for the person that ends up grabbing it!
I love your energy Alexa! I went to Goodwill this weekend and scored 6 pieces of transitioning to spring items for only $25! I'm surprised by the prices at the thrift shops out in California.
