First trick:the writing board is fabric, semi transparent, you can see the light from the backstage through it . When he places the 2nd board, you can see the lights at the beggining (0:18)but after 1-2 secs, the girls comes from the bottom, covered by the -strategically placed-1st board and sits behind the 2nd board, so now you cant see the backstage lights, but you can see her figure. The dress trick is more easy:doyble layer, you can see the white bottom of it through the whole show
