When I was at BikePark Wales last Thursday. Like Owen I was doing my best to not do any black trails. As I can't jump a mountain bike to save my life. I do usually try to keep more in my tyres than under them. As it was my first time there. I didn't go past the blue trails.
Haha, I saw you and Payner there last Thursday - you boys tried to interview my mate on the singlespeed dual crown SB165. Had an early bath due to stacking it on A470 berm on the 2nd run, but I would have loved to have countered the wind turbine guys - Nuclear Engineer / Chartered Welding Metallurgist here. But Pint-sized rider is super rad
Girl says "daddy is always working" mommy is a "full time" mom. Not a single shout out for the hardworking father for providing enough for them to enjoy nice bikes and nice trails is a bit sad tbf
what i dont get and this is not specific to this video but more in general....why people, who never ridden before or beginners that ride once or twice a year just some basic trails....spend 3k, 5K on a bike when its better to go for something less expensive, then learn your bike properly, ride it until you outride it....then upgrade a component here and there and eventually once you do more technical/aggressive riding invest in a high end bike....Its just mind bogging to me...or better yet buy 2nd hand !!! some amazing deals to be found....
LOVED this segment you need to do more of these Owen! Mind blown their still doing wind farms...it's actually a massive scam but we won't get into that here. 😂
How much is your bike? £1.5 million and my kids bike we swapped for an tropical island. What do you do for a living? I'm a cheese aerodynamics tester for a subdivision of Samsung cheese.
It's definitely gone up a bit above inflation, but if you love it and it's your thing, then folk still value it as worth their cash! Still, plenty of bargains both new and second hand out there right now
@WerdnaLiten are you really upset about a lack of cross-country bikes at a downhill park?? Wow LOL Downhill riding is so much more fun than pedaling anyway LOL
@@williamdistasio9358 Agree that a downhill park is not the natural place for a cross country bike. I disagree with the comment about pedaling, when you have the fitness and can go fast, flat sections and uphills that are not too steep become like downhills where you have to watch your lines for carrying speed and brake for corners just like downhill. It is very rewarding. Many people only ever experience the downhill part and completely miss the other experience. There is something about a bike when you throw down some power it becomes alive, hard to explain but it feels great.
The Video was filmed at Bike Park Wales - which does have pedal up trails - but is more know for its up-lift service and DH trails - that and there are lots of more XC focussed trail centre not too far away - has meant there wasn't a lot of XC bikes - we will endeavour to get more XC bikes on a future Nice bike what do you do for a living! Cheers Owen
Yes & no. Bit of both. Fuel is litres but fuel economy is miles per gallon (for most people), distance is in miles and many still use stone and pounds for their weight. A few still use farenhight for temperature & most cyclists use psi for pressure.
@@45graham45 Wow, they sell fuel by liter but measure consumption in miles per gallon? Who thought that was a good idea? (Although liters per 100KM is a pretty stupid measurement too)
@@barfo281 Yeah. It's because UK had to tow the line when it was in the EU. Like you say, litres per 100km is stupid (especially as the road network uses miles) and so people stayed with what they knew & used for the previous hundred years. Many know both metric & imperial though for most stuff. I suppose the youngest don't use imperial so much though as they were born into the EU fiasco. Farenhight for temperature is the only thing that I could never get the hang of - Always Celcius (Centigrade) for me.
@@45graham45 When I travel to Australia, the Celsius drives me nuts more than the other metric stuff, because a couple of degrees means the difference between needing long sleeves or a jacket vs not. With Farenheit a few degrees is not that dramatic of a difference.
