Reminds me of all the daily setbacks,I used to do the whiskey barrels, waiting to tip waiting to load by yourself, driving up horse and cart roads to distillery’s, but at the end of the day I loved the driving, enjoy your video keep them going .
Scotty, you looked a bit dejected back in the yard that afternoon. You've only done Hampton in Arden, tip reload Ynys-Mon, tip, reload N Wales for Narbeth, Night out. Trailer back to yard, pick up Ipswich load locally for tomorrow. Rescue local driver tip his Camarthen, return base, collect Begelly tip, return base. Drop trailer, leave ready for local man (who's fecked off home ages ago) hook up Ipswich. Finish, night at home. You've done more in two days than some people would do in a week, and they had all finished for the day. I'd have been tamping, you did very well to put on a brave face. Hope the boss does the decent thing by you.
Hi Scott. Pretty slippy in that first yard. Amazing how weather changed when working towards Anglesey from snow to really wet rain. Just as well you went to Scania last week otherwise you could have had a really good story to relate how your MAN rescued their Scania. Stay safe and take care. Great video.
Finished your weekly video on a Tuesday, couldn't get my MAN out of bed on Tuesday so had a snow day. It's a bugger when you get damage helping someone else out, good job it was the same firm really. Had to watch this one just for the title as it's usually MAN that breaksdown and Scania to the rescue. All the best.
If it's any comfort even Scandinavian truckers struggle to get going some days. Watched a Norwegian truck get loaded on flat asphalt.. Had been -10C overnight, light rain shower blew through. Stuck it in gear and went absolutely nowhere. Even their usual trick of lifting the tag axle and overloading the drive axle didn't help get him moving, stuck for about 20 mins until the 1st tractor gritting the carparks in the industrial area came past and chucked a couple of spades under each wheel.... Not saying the road was slippy but my boss did a full 360 pirouette in his VW Caddy from about 8km/h when trying to turn in at end of road. Winter tyres make a HUGE difference, but even they do have limits.
Great vlog as usual mate 👍 Hope you got the MAN fixed after it's little recovery hiccup 🙏 Also hope the Scania has been repaired and is now back on the road 🤞Keep up the good work mate & stay safe #MoreScott
Hi Scott, I've watched several of your videos when you've mentioned the height of overhanging trees. My research found this: While no specific guidance is given in the Act, it is generally accepted that the minimum clearance should be 2.4m over a footpath and 5.05m (16' 6”) over a road (measured from the centre line).
Hope Scania paid your expenses for Sweden before you posted this episode! Thanks for your efforts, your vlogs are reasonably short, informative, and there’s usually rain.
MAN can just replace the headlight glass rather than the entire headlight - had a stone go through one of my headlights ages ago. Safe travels as always.
Hi Scott, more of that wet rain! Whatever next! Still smashing recovery (Sorry)! Another cracking (sorry) video, not vlog we don’t like vlog! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀
Thank you Scott. Another great video and as always Enjoyed the video. I am with on the word vlog Don’t like it. To me it’s a video Thanks again. Hope you have a great Christmas All the very best for 2022. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
Another great Video Scott. I like your stuff a lot it's always honest. Hope you and yours have a great Christmas and a happy new year. From VTID1941 in the States
Hi Scott matey 👍 did you get your headlight fixed on your MAN truck because of the V8 Scania truck broken down. Good RUclips video even though you had abit of bad day that day. Thanks from mark 👍 from the Wirral Merseyside UK 👍👍
Video it is then, nice to know 😉. Ref strapping and chaining of loads, I think a few countries have a legal requirement for them be on the same side as the driver, to monitor them 🤔. Stay safe and annoy more.
Those are the type of rules written by bureaucrats who haven't spent one nano-second around a working truck - sorry, lorry - and its driver! The driver can monitor the tiedowns via the passenger-side rear-view mirror just as well....and this will always beat the risk of personal injury or worse, if forced to re-arrange the tiedowns while on the road. I don't know what the rules for periodic load-securement verifications are in the UK, but - both - the Canadian and American regulations mandate cargo-securement checks at specific intervals (which must be flagged on the log-sheet or ELD), i.e.: >> within the first 50 miles (80 km) after loading & securing; >> every 150 miles (240 km) or 3 hours (which-ever occurs sooner) thereafter; >> every time you enter urban areas; >> at each change of duty-status (i.e. break/fuelling/sleeper-berth); Can anyone enlighten me, what the regs are in the UK?
Talking about Sweden, we have at some freighters the big flat forklift brushes you can drive under to get rid or snow and ice. In this case they are directed 90 degr from ordinary on the forks. But I think somewhere is possibly the rotary brush for excavators, telehandlers or big Huddig or Lännen backhoes (uses them normally for cleaning building roofs). You can see it here: ruclips.net/video/-KBygNjQ00c/видео.html
which is the worst snow or rain? personally think snow is the worst, as not only is it wet, but also colder. getting some really good camera angles in this vlog Scott, and really like how they came out. keep up the great work. :-)
Personally, I prefer "cold" snow (anytime the temp is -10C or 14F or colder)...that snow is like a carpet to drive on. Any temps hovering around the freezing mark are the worst to drive on....especially because car-drivers are completely oblivious to the inherent risks and drive as if it were just rain, and then depend on their ABS instead of their brains
My friend had his car written off as a chunks of ice 10ft x8ft and about 5” thick slipped off the trailer roof and he ran over it and tore the underside of the car and engine out.
...@Trucker Jay & Scott Andrews.....in fact, it's not really the seat that's bouncy, but the fact that you're sitting on the steer-axle and even with cab-air ride & seat-air ride, you still notice the governments' inabilities to re-invest fuel-taxes into the infrastructures ;-)
@ Andre P.... a few years back, I drove a Mack COE Concrete Pumper - twin-steer/tri-drive - from New Jersey (close to NY-City) to a hick-town in south-western Ontario (Canada)....unit checked-in at just over 90,000 lbs (40,825 kg) empty, was equipped with a 15-speed direct-over Eaton Fuller manual transmission (manual-tranny trucks in North America are not synchronized, meaning they need to be double-clutched for shifting up & down). Ran with overweight/oversize permits, plus an escort just for the I-90 Toll-Section from Syracuse/NY to the Canadian border......distance 450 miles....the step-counter on my Android cell-phone, hooked to my belt, counted 54,090 steps for that run....about 70% due to bouncing, and the rest for shifting...:O:
You mentioned wet rain ,, when my wife worked in a local school .which had a roof leak ,she reported it to her boss and he said it's the wrong type of rain ,,
Scott Behave! You missed the tunnel sound at [14:05]!!! You can better..., or you have suddenly grown too old?!? Not me anyway and I can possibly be you grandfather. (#morescott tunnel_sound)
Hey Mr Andrews, two questions: 1. you seem to be slipping a lot as long as the ground gets greasy and/or humid; don't trucks have winter tires like cars do? 2. wrt sand, you've been conveying quite a bit of bags with the stuff and the bags were open to the air; don't you gain a lot of weight when it rains? Sand is not exactly hydrophobic...
Im not Mr. Andrews, i know, but on wintertyres.. there are them for trucks. And having them on makes winter so much more pleasent. Only sad and scary when going to far south and having warm and dry tarmac, then you "smell" some rubber. Dont know why it's legal to have these ecotyres to have m+s and 3peak mountain markings, these dont work even on wet surface.
Reminds me of all the daily setbacks,I used to do the whiskey barrels, waiting to tip waiting to load by yourself, driving up horse and cart roads to distillery’s, but at the end of the day I loved the driving, enjoy your video keep them going .
im back, great video as always Scott. no snow in Wales you are right Scott

Just reading this made me feel tired all over again lol
Smashing recovery
03:58 - we do have the roof clearing things in Denmark - its called the first 3 km after a truck stop on the freeway :)
I was always taught to strap on the left
like you said if one comes loose then it is safer to be on nearside with no traffic hammering past you

Snow and breakdowns no problem, but late for Watkins Bakery Begelly. Thats really tough !
Quite right!
Love the snow scenes, on the screen, not nice to work in, sad about the broken light. You take care and stay safe out there.
So what happened exactly then Scot to the headlight?
Really wanted to know ☹️
I know the rain you mean Scott 😋 and sometimes we have a lazy wind too the one that goes through you not round 😁 now that IS cold.
Great as always Scott

Congrats Kevin👏👍
Hi scott I love your videos and you an amazing representation of the haulage industry I can't wait to start driving lorries in the future👍♥️😉
Good Monday morning to you sir
We have devices in the UK to remove snow from trailer roofs, they're called tree branches !
Well Scott that was a very interesting trip and the the spanner gets thrown in to the mix .😯😯👍👍👍.then you damagd your unit and that's not good .
Glad you enjoyed it

That’s the standard for unmarked road bridges aswell
Anything less than that needs to be marked as such
Thanks for sharing
Hope Scania paid your expenses for Sweden before you posted this episode! Thanks for your efforts, your vlogs are reasonably short, informative, and there’s usually rain.
MAN can just replace the headlight glass rather than the entire headlight - had a stone go through one of my headlights ages ago. Safe travels as always.
Yeah it was an easy fix in the end
Hi Scott, more of that wet rain! Whatever next! Still smashing recovery (Sorry)! Another cracking (sorry) video, not vlog we don’t like vlog! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀
Hi Scott, the snow looked nice even though it can be inconvenient at times but you kept going so all good, hope you have a better week this week 😊

Thank you Scott. Another great video and as always Enjoyed the video. I am with on the word vlog Don’t like it. To me it’s a video Thanks again. Hope you have a great Christmas All the very best for 2022. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.

Every country that has the potential for snow has a Trailer roof cleaning thing.....called a ladder and a shovel. :)
Was working in keltruck cross hands when it got towed in and think even they were confused by it
Great video again
Hey Scott why don’t you wear head torch when doing your walk around in the Dark….
I use a torch just not when filming

Whats the gear you use for boiling the kettle?

Nasty work
What did you say after "stay, stay, stay" at 16.40? Was it "thank you" in Welsh?
That was just pure mumbling
Excellent video once again Scott
You didn’t say where you went on Anglesey and as you were saying about the rain being wet well that’s Anglesey rain for you 👍..

How bouncy is that seat
It's a bit up and down

Hi Scott. Thank you for the video you work too hard pet. ❤️
I know, I feel it 😂😂
This must be the 'I'm really glad to be back at work now, moaning video'???😀😀
