I love this shoe. I wore it only a couple times but I am shocked how super responsive and fast my footwork is with these on. It fits true to size for me but I got normal width feet. Sure they don't have a cozy cushion, the rubber sole is thin and have a narrow feel but that low to the ground feel and narrow feel is what makes them super responsive and very quick for me. Very stable and great ankle support. I bought one pair (wondersteel blue) and after wearing it once I later bought 2 more pairs. I have the wondersteel blue, black and white. I jumped on the great black friday deals. I can't really see myself using it with my boxing bag in my garage with the rough concrete floor but I will definitely use them in the gym. Blazing fast shoes! I have tons of various Adidas shoes as it is my favorite shoe brand so it was a no brainer that I would look at their boxing shoes.
I have these and I definitely agree with what you said about the lack of impact absorption. I jump rope at the end of most classes and i could feel the pounding on the bottom of my feet.
So question Csquared. Would you recommend the recent Nike Hyper Kos or these Adidas Hogs 4? I do have a wide toe (big fan of New Balance for that option) and I am currently using Everlast PIVT low tops (I usually wear 10.5 size shoes, depending on the brand and workmanship of the shoes. In these, I wear 11 and it is still a little snug.) Let me know, love to hear your opinion on this. Thank you for your hard work and reviews for all fighting gear you provide (for me boxing is what I do) 🙏 -Jon
Hey Carlo! Big fan of your channel. Most of my boxing stuff I got because of your reviews! So thank you! I’m deciding between Hyper KO 2.0 and The Box Hog 4. I’m true to size 10.5 in nikes, but usually walk around in an 11 because my feet are a smidge wide. Do you think I’d be good in an 11 for either boxing shoe? Or should i do 11.5 in either? Thanks again brother! And KEEP IT UP!
SHould i choose the adidas box hog 4 or the nike machomai 2 im more like a david benavidez type foot work kinda guy but also mix in a little bit of muhammed ali you know?? so which one u think is best for me?
Mabuhay, Carlo! Just saw a midcut shoe online and thought it has a profile of a boxing shoe. They were the Onitsuka Mexico Mid Runners. Just out of curiosity, would you think they can perform like a boxing shoe? Thanks yo!
I am so jealous. I would love to get Bruce Lee Onitsuka (low or mid) but they are too much and they never ever go on sale. I would definitely box in them and I would have to do a flying side kick. If Bruce Lee enjoyed them, I know I would. I have 3 pairs Onitsuka Tigers (Ultimate 81, Dualio and Colorado). Just doing some boxing moves with the Ultimate 81 and Dualio at home and they feel great. Much better than my other sport sneakers. Low to the ground, light weight and nice upper. No ankle support with mine (I don't roll my ankles) but I am more concerned with stability and they are quite stable. I actually bought the Onitsuka Tiger Serrano (green) today with their black friday sale for $56. I will try to box with them. As for the Onitsuka performing like the Adidas Box Hog 4? No. The Adidas Box Hog 4 is lower, is super fast with the flexible upper and the ankle support is quite awesome. My Onitsuka Tiger Dualio and Box Hog 4 pretty much way the same. One can still move very good with Onitsuka and you can kick too which I wouldn't with my Box Hog 4 but I feel I perform my best boxing with the Adidas Box Hog 4. In my garage with the concrete floor, I can see myself boxing using the Onitsuka Dualio (thicker rubber sole than the Box Hog 4, Dualio, Serrano and Ultimate 81) to save the damage it would do to my Box Hog 4 thin rubber sole. Save the Box Hog 4 and Serrano for the gym.
i can't tell the difference between the 3's and 4's... slightly different material but that's about it. the 3's had metal lace tips (at least mine do). i'm still a slave to buying insanely expensive mizunos.
Hello I have the adams v trainers with the thick sole can u do review on the fight night version with the thinner sole because I love the shape of the shoe but I want a thinner sole
Great video. I have questions. I have wide feet and my normal size is 10(US), I am planning to use these shoes for fashion (in the streets) and I want to add a cushioning insole. What size do you recommend? Do you think 10.5 is just wide enough, or should I go up to 11? And lastly, do you think it is possible to wear winter socks with these (again for fashion in cold days) ? Can't find the Adidas Hog 4 nor 3 around, so I have to buy them online. Bit I don't want to get the wrong size. Thanks for the help!
I bought this exact model and I love them, good for pivoting, sparring and bag/mitt working, for impact I just put some Nike dry fit socks which are extra thicccc and they help with shock absorbing
Hey man, would really love a reply from both you and viewer alike. Im looking for a puncher's style glove like the Everlast MX Pros or the Cletos Reyes traditional gloves, where it has minimal padding or horsehair near the knuckles. But I am also looking for Muay Thai glove qualities such as the increased padding around the wrist and sides for kick blocking. Such a combination of low knuckle padding and high wrist and hand padding is atypical, but I was wondering if you or anyone would know of such a glove? Or one that fits closely to that?
Hey man, i don't think there is any glove thats a cross between punchers style horsehair boxing gloves and a stuffed and padded wrist like muaythai ones since they're both made for completely different sports and purposes. The only thing i can think of is to try and contact someone that manufactures gloves such as topboxer and try and ask them to make you a custom pair
Hey Csquared! I just started boxing and the shoes i used for training (all parts of my training) fell apart the other day. If I could only afford one pair of quality footwear, would it be better to buy shoes more appropriate for the conditioning part of training or should I get a pair of boxing shoes instead? Also, any recommendations for a first pair of shoes? Thanks in advance! Your videos have been really helpful.
what would you recommend for wide feet if these hog 4s are not good for wider feet? @csquaredboxing did say its decent, or do you have even wider feet that caused more problems for you?

Thanks and neither tbh for wide feet. I’d say adidas Speedex or adams v trainers if I had to choose for wider feet.
@@csquaredboxing Thank you for the response. I'll look into it 🙏

Would you consider getting a pair of Hogs 4 before a Machomai 2?
For me yes because I have wide feet

They look decent, not sure how they would perform as I’ve never tried them
Thanks, Carlo!

I really like the look of these but not sure how they’ll hold up (my feet and joints too) most of my workouts are on concrete or has flooring
Get something more supportive with a thicker sole
how does these compare to nike hyper ko 2?

For sure
Have you had any issues with these boots breaking? I've been hearing they break really easily
I have them , they're really nice but its a really weak boot.will probably last 6 months max if you were em everyday

More words than me tho
this shoe is definitely not friendly for wide feet, because I have it.

The material is unfortunately awful plastic like synthetic thing.
Nah. It's sturdier
than the 3's
