  • A quick video of how to lubricate a noisy fan and replace dried thermal paste on an older video card with no access hole under the sticker. For fans with the access hole under the sticker use that hole for lubrication. The fan may be damaged with excessive force, use caution with this repair. Synthetic grease can also be used as a lubricant.

    The fan blade on my GPU is on heatsink and it does not have fan screws.

    Is baby oil ok?

      Use electric motor oil or synthetic grease for best results.

    Funny... cant say i've ever seen a pull apart fan, the center shaft is usually held down by a small plastic or metal c-clip on the backside of the shaft accessable by a capped hole on the back side of the fan itself for lubrication... typically when the c-clip breaks, the fan lifts up like its trying to fly off.

      Correct, this will only work for fans that do not have the access hole on some GPU fans

    My gtx 960 had the fan fall out on its own. And the metal stick that keeps the fan stuck to the cooler is stick on the fan is there a way to fix this can i just glue it

    My gpu is an Amd Radeon HD 6950, i got it for my old pc but it may have overheated syne there was some weird coloured stuff around the vent exhaust but i went ahead and replaced the cooling paste yet still it does not show anything and goes full throttle. can this be fixed?

      3 in 1 Electric Motor Oil, we recommend synthetic grease if possible.

      @@Expertpcnc Synthetic motor oil works well too. 0-20W Mobil 1 will do the trick.

    not able to remove . if doing it from force seems the fan will broke
