The MV is a metaphor for how they can weather any storm as long as they're together. The red string of fate theory is that two souls or souls are destined to be together regardless of time, place or circumstance. These 9 amazing young women were born to be together forever and it's this bond that allows them to be so successful and supportive of each other. As I've stated many times before there is no group like Twice and never will be that touches your heart each and every time they share their music and personalities. I would recommend you react to the behind the scenes and live clip because they show the charms of each member beautifully and of course you will laugh your head off. You're right, the legend is Akai Ito who says that at the moment of birth the gods tied an invisible red thread to those who are destined to meet and become soulmates. Twice used the legend to reaffirm the relationship they have with each other, a relationship that is more than a family, they are soulmates and brought this concept in a very beautiful way both in the lyrics and in the mv. Even Mina and Nayeon already said once in the 7th anniversary video that if they could choose to be any other twice member if they were born again, they responded that it would be themselves so they could meet the other members again.

Someone pointed out that it might be referring to the storm/darkness they've experienced with their respective anxiety problems.
I think that might be the case, and I absolutely LOVE that they look out at the storm, and then _turn around_ to be with their members.
Anxiety is one of those things that rarely goes away completely, but you learn how to deal with it, and even if you look at the darkness every once in a while, if you have good friends, you can look at the good things in your life as well.
I think that's what they were going for in the video, and I think that is a very touching message. 😭
I don't know but it's emotional when Mina starts the MV with her looking at the chaos outside the boat then looking at the members like that, then followed by Jeongyeon lines with "When I'm walking into the darkness, I know you'll be right there, lighting up the flares"

Twice has this western expansion since early 2022, your not going to see that on views, merch sales, and chart topping songs or albums sales but concert stages and their vlogs especially now they are happy and heartbreaking sometimes they have been together as 9 getting along very well with one another and this is almost their 9th year they are definitely one of the best pop group in the world and people go those concerts full house all the time

The SanaYeon incident ( when sana was taking a shower and ended up sleeping under the shower and nayeon thought it was strange that she was taking so long and so she managed to get into the bathroom and saw naked sana basically drowning in the water and woke her up quickly, she could have died, They both say that Sana could have died that day if Nayeon hadn't arrived and stopped her, Sana keeps saying that Nayeon saved her)

Their vocals are so great because there's no stress at all, they are not having to shout or go up high where they might not be comfortable. It's supposed to be a comforting song so it needs to be stress-free. It's not meant to be High-Energy like what you were saying form their early songs. This is so laid back and conversational, no stress, just enjoying themselves at the mic with a sweet-intentioned, lovey-dovey song.

It’s so funny how warm and safe they make this mv feel when the irl behind the scenes it was freezing and they were kinda dying ahaha. The mv was shot back in November when we pieced together some photos they posted coinciding with the location in busan. They also have a behind the scenes of the MV so check that out for a good time

The lower tones from Momo also really tripped me up when MiSaMo released 'Marshmallow'. Just WHAT was she drinking that allowed her voice to drop THAT LOW? lol Not knocking it at all! I LOVE their ability to surprise us, I LOVE that they are all such great vocalists!
We know that Momo had to do some serious work to do in order to get on the same level with the rest of the girls, to be at least 'acceptable' for the group. And boy did she step up! And of course they all just keep improving, like you said. Amazing, amazing, amazing. This is why they are on top.

Well, like some had maybe said it the song is about their friendships and bonds with each other in the group. How there was always there for each other during hard times, also they reference a little the hard time Mina and Jeongyeon with mental illness who is sadly still a little taboo in S.Korea. Finally, surprised that you did not mention it so not sure if you noticed but it's a full english song.
