Boyd Shah will not be hanging with the Durham massive at the next round. He's been stripped of his smoking jacket, badge and blazer combination set and subscription to Cheshire Life.
He's probably set the furthest away from the captain, because at the time I doubt that Durham or any other university/university college that enters University Challenge knows how valuable each player will be.
I read your comments and thought you were all being cruel. Then I watched this episode. Brasenose were completely clueless. Durham were not wonderful either.
How did Brasenose get on the show with that team? Terrible. Also, I don't think Morgan-Thomas could get more middle class, even if he smothered himself with hummus and quinoa grain.
Ha ha, inverted snobbery or a toff looking down his nose at the middle classes? Either way, it's snobbery, which never dies, and flourishes among the PC classes.
It's always embarrassing to see a female-dominated team to score so low. Durham Lloyd reminds me of last year's Manchester captain. I can't remember her name, but to me, they look alike.
@@castelodeossos3947 are you simple? The answer is very obvious. Men will come out of the woodwork pointing out that the flaw in the team is purely because they are women. Whereas when a male team does poorly, people don’t come flooding the comments saying they performed poorly because of their gender.
How can a bunch of Oxbridge rejects manage to humiliate an Oxford college so completely? Who's the admissions officer at Brasenose these days? Ought to be fired.
Brasenose Oxford are dreadful, Cartwright and Thomas did'nt buzz correct once and Cartwright did'nt buzz at any stage during the contest. The losing team this Week on University Challenge were roughly as dire
They had to beat about 100 other teams to get there. Can’t you cut them some slack? Maybe the questions just didn’t fall their way this time. How about a little kindness. Would you do better given the thousands of possible questions that you just might not know?
Attractiveness in inverse proportion to intellectual ability. Brasenose made a crucial mistake by not knowing anything. Whereas the other lot had Morgan-Thomas.
26:23 Benedict’s reagent is itself blue! The only precipitate in that test is brick-red!!! People!!! 😭😭😭 Edit: This set of questions was dead easy 😭 How did you not get those right at least?!
I don't like the system with starters leading to bonus questions where one team can clean up if they're lucky enough to guess the right answers while the other team can't speak.
@@mikeball6182 Anymore? Some men have not ever given a sh*t, because the way the word 'misogyny' has been used by PC classes, it's never been more than a slur, along with racist, anti-Semite, etc.
6:47 There's no way this question would stump a modern-day uni student.
Embarrassing for Brasenose Oxford...
You spoiled the plot!

Brasenose got the joint 4th lowest score in UC history.
10:39 finally someone says it to his face.
How did they not get binge-watch?!
Because it was a new expression at the time. I find it fascinating that they didn't as it 's a great example of how fast language can change.
More baffled they didn't get hydra… neither team, at that
I don't get the seating strategy for the Durham team. Morgan-Thomas is clearly their most valuable player and he's the one farthest from the captain.

You clearly haven't met Ted Loveday have you
@@alexroch6058 I have! He should have been next to a captain too!
So true.

Brasenose is so young.
I'm not from England, but isn't East London the rough migrant side?
rosecolouredglasses Probably why he was keen to point it out...
Yimello man that made me crease xD
I'm retarded and I got about 8 correct. lol

Really enjoyed watching it. 💓
How did oxford even qualify and the lowest score in my memory
the falklands??? haha
Morgan-Thomas is a freak of nature
"The thing with the bread"
Is that Davie504?

Elizabeth Mitchell. Definitely my favourite contestant lol
actually I'm going to assume you meant someone else as Durham Lloyd is a guy...
hammerandclaw I meant they look similar like they could be brother and sister.
If more embarrassing than if it were a man-dominated team, why so?

Thanks!
The introduction explains exactly how backwards, 1700??? this country really is😮
An absolute mollywhopping
Durham is slow, Brasenose even slower. Wow... Ugh
Fred Harvey of Durham and Gabriel Trueblood of Cambridge-St. Peter's are decisively the best leaders of any teams in this series.
How can a bunch of Oxbridge rejects manage to humiliate an Oxford college so completely? Who's the admissions officer at Brasenose these days? Ought to be fired.
It's a general knowledge quiz show. Relax.
"what!" you forgot to end with that. And maybe some stage directions

16000 vs 470
This is Sparta!
So one sided it`s a waste of time broadcasting the episode, This is where the 5 point deduction kills the show

Harvey is lovely.
He's never heard of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Those fillies from Brasenose were useless
IKR?! ONE OF THE BEST UNIVERSITIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, AND THEY PLAY LIKE THIS?!
This is what happens when you have more women than men on a team
Shut up virgin
No, it's true. There have been individual women who've done very well on the show, but never a female-dominated team.
Be it true or not, you'll be accused of misogyny for saying so.
