What if? / What if he was different, a rebel of conventional norms? / What if he was bold in his difference? / What if when he married, he honored her and didn't want to "buy" her? / What if he was breaking patterns by standing for what he is vs what has been culturally imposed? / What if the old system refused and reacted, stealing his freedom (horses)? / What if he was loyal to his freedom, that he opened the door, and threw the conventional material father into the fire of transmutation? / What if he was banished in fear of being a model for change? / What if Zeus recognised his courage and invited him into his ascension? / What if Hera wanted to commune with him to co-create Human Creator Beings? / What if Zeus was then enraged - for he didn't want the Tree of Knowledge/Wisdom to reach Earth? / What if Zeus in his rage, struck his lightening bolt that got Ixion back to Earth by Hermes stuck on the Wheel of time? / What if Hera also instructed Hermes on how to position him on the wheel, with feet on taurus&leo and hands on scorpio&aquarius to give humans clues on how to be creator beings while still in a physical body in the wheel of time with fixed anchors and a head on the mid-heaven? What if Ixion represents being a creator being while in a physical body here on Earth, the wheel of time? What if? - I resonate that IXION is for our times! Thank you.
These are great questions -- and this rebel with a purpose was actually Prometheus who, as Richard Tarnas, suggests is actually the true archetype of Uranus. Ixion, sadly, wasn't operating from a higher purpose or creative intention but out of his lower impulses and reactivity.

The difference is that Uranus (who Richard Tarnas sees as representing the archetypal energy of Prometheus) was breaking the rules and acting on behalf of humanity for a higher purpose. He was not breaking the rules out of selfish impulses and desires, causing harm and destruction to others. Both were rule-breakers but with different intentions and different levels of consciousness. It is the difference between a reformer/rebel for justice and a sociopath.
