    Why are the PSR cut off not aligned with the end of the PL transfer window? It seems particularly absurd to have teams that need to sell before the end of June to then spend in July within the same window.

  • @vertron

    They put a rule in place to prevent clubs going bankrupt, PSR. The outcome of that rule just ensures the status quo stays the same, making the league boring with the same teams up there all the time.
    They should have a spending cap for all clubs to stop teams like Man City and Newcastle buying trophies and do as you said, have a business plan that allows teams to spend more than their income whilst ensuring they don't go bankrupt.

    Could we not sell 1 executive box package to one of our owners businesses this year for £250m and then that will be profit back into the club based on ticket sales which could then in turn be used to buy new players. There are loopholes there to be manipulated surely 🤔 (i know there will be rules to prevent this just trying to be positive) UTV

    Absolutely love this explanation and general MENTALITY that people should have as we head into this new chapter of Villa. Trust the Emery process and enjoy every memory he and the team create in the seasons to come. We've been away from this level since 1982! We can't expect to fast forward right back to the top. Certainly not by buying our way there.
    Long-term stability is key. By most accounts, Man United had a weird, chaotic, and underwhelming season. And they still won an FA cup. I want Villa to get to that point... otherwise "failing" based on the standards set, but still winning a cup! UTV!

    There are plenty of tricks that villa could use, naming rights to our stands, selling the car park to a sister company, selling the shop to a sister company, there are many options that can be explored and I am sure Villa are looking into it.

    Kinda found out about the seating in the lower Holte End. So the original email informed people about the losing there seats in the Trinity/North/Ellis and explained why, then right at the bottom it just says our seats in the lower Holte had changed, no explanations, no apologies. They moved us from a faily central position to the side lines. Its took 5 days of phone calls and emails to get any sort of reasoning to whats actually happening and why we wasnt pre warned. So basically from what theyre telling me the sections been completely changed and walk ways are being closed and replaced with seats so most the sections been moved and the ticket office apparently didnt know about the change till the day before the emails went out. I think most people will under why the change but the way theyve gone about it was bang out of order.

    Need to take an average of what the likes of city and chelsea spent before psr/ffp and allow everyone to spend that amount and try and even the league back up. Its a major advantage to those that had the money b4 the ffp/psr rules. Theres obviously alot more to it because we cant have Southampton and the like spending top 4 money and going broke but it all definitely needs evening up

    I’ve always said that players wages should reflect the level they are playing at and should be capped , but with added incentive to get bonuses on winning cups or leagues or qualifying for UEFA or Champions League places!! It’s players and agents fees that are making life hard for clubs especially the lower clubs and also keeps making the season ticket prices going up and up !! And in fairness the clubs at the top end of the financial spectrum should keep to the limits and be fined or dealt with like they have with Notts and Everton and not have a situation like Man City & Chelsea who have spent billions and haven’t been docked any points at all!!

    At the end of the day, football is a sports business. Would you find multi-million or billion companies being told and taking the direction of they can and cannot do in investing and expanding the company? I think not. There are laws such as competition law that applies so as long as clubs work and abide by these thier should be no problem. Business is business, if you want to grow and expand do it if another club struggles then that is just the way things go they have to fix the prblem and grow too.
    There are other 'FA Laws' that need addressing, but I agree that spending limits need addressing, and I agree with Man City if FA law breaches or is not compatible with the laws of the country, then they need changing. Sorry for going on but the FA also need to address the issue of clubs pllaying in Europe, and then 3 days later in the PL.

    And this is why Man city broke the rules . If Man City didn't break the rules they would mostly likely be in the Championship so you can't blame them really they took a risk , yes they're up on charges but it was a risk worth taking as they have revenue that can compete with any club in the world now. All the rules do is protect teams like Man u who had a free hand to grow with no restrictions & because of that privilege they get to maintain there spending advantage which keeps them competitive at the highest levels of competition . Its not fair .

    There are a lot of teams that make Champions League. Most of them are very similar to Villa. They have Champions League players on their squads, we have Champions League players on our squad. So I don't think we need to revamp our team to compete. We'll compete fine. But that doesn't mean we stop trying to improve our team. Mbappe would be nice, but so is getting depth for our defense.

  • @davidham5230
    @davidham5230 22 дня назад

    The thing that's annoying is City have a squad with 15 players that cost more than £40 million plus, 115 charges against them for not submitting financial information yet are allowed to win the league year in year out due to lawyers muddying the water, when everyone else has to bend over and sell either homegrown talent or the best player to avoid points deductions... Ridiculous that this is how the sport is being dictated, last season everyone saying City had a poor season, key players missing months ect... Yet breeze to another title while Arsenal have a near perfect season only for us to ruin their party twice and miss out again... Liverpool went toe to toe for a few seasons but by the end of this season you could see they'd run out of steam having been brilliant for years, even they can't keep up with the city cheat code that has seen them effectively buy title after title and treat the league like a gift shop... They've got away with robbery whilst the rest of the league is being followed by security and all we're tryna do is the weekly shop without the hassle, we can afford the goods now show me to the checkout... If having money alone guaranteed success then Man Utd would have stayed at the top, but they've been way off the pace (when you think about their revenues) for years.
    So get rid of the rules, let clubs operate as businesses, be innovative, and handle their own affairs.
    If we get a couple of Leeds and Chelsea's that destroy their credit ratings through being stupid so be it.
    We're way past arguing that these rules are needed, they are not.

  • @outofthetrash5925
    @outofthetrash5925 22 дня назад +1

    Sorry Luke, but I disagree with "If city can spend what they want, we may as well all pack up".
    City can pretty much spend as they like now rules or no rules. City have been self sustainable for 4 or 5 years now. Under the rules, Man Utd can match or even outspend City and they often do. You still need to run a club properly, with a proper manager.
    We're at least 4 years from winning a title anyway. You have to spend more than you can afford now. With better players comes better sponsorships and then you can become sustainable at a higher level. Thats what City did. Our owners want to do the same and shoulf be allowed to.
    There should be no reason why in Unais 5th season with a season or 2 having been in the CL we can't be buying £100m footballers.

  • @Chegmeister89

    Villa are going through exactly what Newcastle did last season, being punished for ambition.
    FFP and PSR are corrupt anti-competitive rules put in place to protect the already established big clubs. Villa have the 3rd richest owners in PL and have to sell Luiz.
    Newcastle have the richest owners in world sports by a long way and might be forced to sell Bruno or Isak. It's a joke, we might as well still be owned by Mike Ashley.

      @echobanger 22 дня назад

      Agreed these rules just tier band the league making sky 6 permanent and not allow any club to be competitive literally like the prosed super league which some clubs are permanent members
      There's no competition in football when there's guarantee for some teams to be permanently never relegated like united chelsea city etc at this point could have had seasons but wouldn't ever go downcthey have the financial backing and reputation from the spending they were able to make before such rules enforced it keeps everyone else gated out from hopes of growth and keeps 14 teams at risk going down which is the beauty of football if all teams have to play fair which the league system originally was for which Villa founded the league system psr banding has just destroyed competitiveness in football completely unfortunately

      Wise words we may have to suffer points or sell key players for this season but that's life players come players go the team isn't evolved around the players but as us all on board the fans the owners the manager and staff and players combined if we gotta sell and get someone else we put the trust in our manager
      He's unlocked players
      Let's say Mings for example
      He went from being error prone all the time to being dominant in the air and winning mentality
      Mcginn also said he look like he's leaving (not getting to a better position club) but worse and he's a changed man now
      Our team isn't based on player abilities but a mix of both manager and players so we have to indeed be on board with whatever we have to do to keep up and if we get a mckennie or something for luiz which sounds awful for the price we sell but forced to for quick ffp clearances then so be it, McKennie has potential and Emery and the coaching staff have been excellent with the players

    Honestly the game is so messed up. We are suffering like everyone else is but if you give free reign to everyone the state ran clubs would make a complete farce of everything. If City win their FFP lawsuit against the Premier league I'd hope Comcast would fully come in behind us and not just Altairos so that would be us sorted but I'd not like us to be a part of a cartel that would do untold damage to the game. I guess the only answer is to raise the FFP losses threshold or introduce a salary cap.

      Chelsea and City scared everyone and they didn't want any more clubs taking over.
      Our owners and Newcastle owners want ro do the same thing and should be allowed to.
      You need to spend big but no one pays attention to all the other things you need to get right. Our club is being run so well that We finished above a Man Utd side that can and do spend as they please.
      There should be no rules that stop us spending more than them if We want to in order to solidify that position with a view to eventually taking over them commercially too.

    • @outofthetrash5925

      It wouldn't make a farce of everything. You still need to run a club properly. City are run extremely well from top to bottom. They have also been self sustainable for years now.
      That comes later. You need to speculate to accumulate. We're not allowed to speculate in the way Chelsea and City once did. That's the problem.
      How much better could City be with no restrictions? There's a limit to how many players will come, they've won 4 consecutive leagues including a treble.

Every player sold, swapped, or brought should be welcomed at our club without questioning it.
