The art of opening a champagne bottle with a sword is called Sabrage. Spin-Off Fact: A conscious decision was made to make the world of Puss In Boots (2011) very different from that depicted in the "Shrek" films. In the latter, the backgrounds and stylizations are very fairy tale. Here, it has a distinctly Spanish feel with warmer, more orange colors. Deep Cut Reference Fact: One of the women of San Ricardo describes Puss' boots as being made of soft, Corinthian leather. This is a reference to the Chrysler Cordoba commercial of 1975, wherein Ricardo Montalban noted "rich Corinthian leather" when describing the seats. Montalban costarred with Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2003).
If you thought the music in the dance battle was impressive, you should see the brother/sister duo actually perform it. It's intense. The sister is total fire in everything she does lol
🐱👍 When it comes to Dreamworks Animation, it's the franchises that get all the publicity ("How To Train Your Dragon," "Kung Fu Panda," "Shrek," "Madagascar" etc). What often gets overlooked are the studio's one-offs which are mostly just as good. "Over The Hedge" (2006), "Flushed Away" (2006), "Monsters Vs Aliens" (2009), "Megamind" (2010), "Turbo" (2013), "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" (2014) and "Abominable" (2019) are all worth checking out. With the Christmas season upon us, "Rise Of The Guardians" (2012) is really a must-watch.
I don't know if I missed your Last Wish reaction or that comes out after this respectfully but welcome to the Puss in Boots franchise. This movie takes place before Shrek and maybe a reaction to Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos afterwards, a 13 minute bonus to this movie. 😄

I avoid movie/series reactions that have too much music in them, because I have to cut out all the music for copyright issues.
