Also what is your favorite what someone else has worked for? And who gets to decide? People that have your best interest in mind? I think not. Inheritance tax should be scrapped altogether.
    It's effectively double taxation, your taxed when your alive now taxed when your deceased through inherited assets. Disgusting..

    • @slothrr776
      @slothrr776 Месяц назад +59

      It's not a tax on the dead person it's a tax on the inheritor. Inherited wealth entrenches privilege against the interests of meritocracy. If you're wealthy, do your kids a favour and let them earn their own way in life. We all know a life without purpose is a guarantee of misery.

    • @zubairnoor9535
      @zubairnoor9535 Месяц назад +193

      @@slothrr776 respectfully disagree. Inheritance of a SME owner versus inheritance of a multimillionaire dose not equate to the same degree of privilege entrencment. Rather taxing people such as small and medium farmers makes sure that big corporate farms and food brands are always beyond any competition from these mom and dad generational farms. If their kids can't pay tax on the inheritance, then they would sell it right, guess who would be able to buy these farm lands in bulk - corporates. And guess who is thr largest land owner in the world? Your king. And how much he paid again for inheritance? Zero. So if he doesn't pay, do you think his friends in the banking and corporate world would? Taxes has always been for peasants to keep them as peasants. Just a different branding and propaganda for a different time.

    • @Loghan.94
      @Loghan.94 Месяц назад +18

      @slothrr776 I mentioned it was the inherited assets. In theory it is taxing the deceased, as that's their lives earnings of which they already paid their contribution towards tax whilst alive.
      How ignorant towards your childrens security.. I will always protect my children and when I can't because I'm deceased ill do that through finance.
      I wouldn't want my children to have to pay for what I've secured for them and if that includes a family business. Then they cant afford to carry on because of the inheritance tax, we lose the business.

    • @zubairnoor9535
      @zubairnoor9535 Месяц назад

      @@Loghan.94 agree wholeheartedly. This utopian propaganda, branding now as privilege bashing and all the farmers are privileged, and their kids will be privileged is just ground work to cut SME farmers by 40% by next 10 15 years. Discourage youth from learning and investing into their family business so that big corporate can take dominate supply and hold citizens hostage. Remember, evil will use plague, pestilence and.... famine to bring the true death of freedom and free will.

    • @davidcoleman3661
      @davidcoleman3661 Месяц назад +6

      @@Loghan.94As you say many see it as double taxation. Moreover Inheritance tax was designed as a tax for the very wealthiest but with the threshold being pegged at £325k until 2028 it’s now affecting more people than it was ever intended to. Current revenues come to £7 billion per year and are set to rise progressively especially in London and the SE with average house prices amounting to £555k. The problem for any Government is if the tax is abolished how can it make good the shortfall to the Exchequer? Higher income taxes or higher VAT? With VAT disproportionately affecting the poor would you be happy to pay more income tax? Our national debt has more than doubled since the Tories took office in 2010 from £1 to £2.5 trillions. Whoever was in Government now faces some tough decisions. Unfortunately politicians don’t treat us electors as adults. Voters and special interest groups need to be properly consulted before final decisions are made.

    As a teenager, I worked for farmers before joining the military. In my civilian life, I have worked with farmers again and made many good friends. I would have been in London with the farmers but due to medical scares, I am at home. Hopefully the next time I will be there. Stand up for farmers or lose them for good.
