A lot of them did. Labour hate them and the tories took the subsidies.
Brexit has done immeasurable harm to British agriculture and the fisheries. A significant proportion of the blame for that rests upon Farage's shoulders. Farmers hopefully have learned their lesson.

under the new inheritance tax laws 462 farms would be affected, charged 20% (above £1 million) as opposed to 40% (above £325,000) for everyone else who has to pay inheritance tax, the farmer would be able to pass on £1.325 million, if a farmer is married, his or her spouse would be able to pass on another £1.325 tax free, making the total £2.65 million tax free, farms below about 200 acres, at present prices would not pay any inheritance tax.

How many of those 100 farms are family farms actually farmed by the children of the owner.

I want too see the venn diagram of people who voted for brexit and the farmers who were at this protest....just for fun you know, just for kicks.
Sometimes my genius, it’s almost frightening
Is it really inheritance tax that may impact some farmers later in life or is it reduced subsidies since brexit and low prices paid for their produce today and tomorrow???.
I think it is both, this is like the last nail in the coffin. I think this tax will harm not only the farmers but UK food security, drive up inflation, increase poverty for England. This is a bad policy.
@@mahuanhit Inheritance tax will help with forcing rich people who only farm as a tax loophole to leave. Decreasing the value of farms meaning less tax and more average people can start a farm
@@tasin2776inheritance tax will help black rock scoop up all the farms that liquidate because people can’t afford to transfer their property to their own children. Such a noble law! Well done!
@@HaloDude557 Sure, because people who own £3m in assets are dirt poor and their children can't afford to pay 20% for the sum above £3m. They also are incapable of paying it in installments in 10 years.
