Don't think I have ever got anything in my life for free everything has cost me something lucky you
I have a 2008 Cherry SSH MIM Strat I have absolutely no use for. Hit me up when you get to the cheap 24 fret Floyd equipped shred machine portion of trade Tuesday. Beaters welcome. Tinkering in my limited free time is my only reason to live RN.
Glad you are bringing this back (I hope).
Did you forget about this Strat only to run across it again when you moved?
So many guitars, so little time!
For the most part i think the world of your work Trogly, but honestly your fear of truss rod adjustment, for someone who has torn apart thousands of dollars worth of guitars, is FECKING EMBARRASSING! Check out Daves world of fun stuff, he can teach you.
Trade Tuesday idea... Turn the Coppercaster into a true 50's Les Paul (any model). That's totally doable!!!
I don't think anyone who knows about John Cruz would confuse that stamp as his. Although since he is a famous Fender builder whose name phonetically matches what you said; I could see someone making a mistake. That stamp says J Uribe. There isn't much information out there on him but there are examples of other guitars with his stamp. J Uribe may have just worked as a part of Fender's quality control team at that time.
... bingo
I love Trade Tuesday. I even participated in Season 3 with the Gibson Manual, which I cherish. I used some of the tactics you’ve demonstrated to trade my way to a 1977 LP Custom Black Beauty, factory chrome! Started with an LTD EC-256. So thank you, and please do another!
Weird. I just rewatched the season 2 finale a couple of days ago and was thinking it would be good to see another season. Hopefully it goes through!
That Neck is RIDICULOUS!!!!! So amazing. I have a Custom Shop Mischief Maker (57 Strat Body with Telecaster 10/56 V Neck) that has a similar flame/birdseye maple neck. Simply art work!
A really high percentage of the figured maple neck CS guitars I sold as a dealer or I've seen otherwise needed truss rod adjustments more often than they should have. Those guitars never sounded like the amount of money they cost. Quarter-sawn plain grain is the way to go with Fender necks.
Yes sir.
Man, if John Cruz was the master builder, you have an exceptional instrument my dude...check him out on the tube he is a true craftsman with these fendears. Was employed with fender forever and started there pushing brooms...you have a piece of art there man
You are correct my man... I was gonna say it, but you beat me to it....well done!!!!
... see comment below, stamp is J Uribe
not a John Cruz ... see @TrippingBowser comment
My buddy gigs w one of the coppercasters as part of his main 3, I’ve grabbed it and played it at a couple gigs when he picks up his charvel, it’s a very awesome guitar, lots of mojo
What a beautiful guitar! I love the copper strats, they're on my dream guitar list.
Watching Trogly learn about guitars with us is one of the best aspects of the series. Don't let your lack of knowledge on an instrument hold you back, people are here to see Trogly because of the personality, the guitar knowledge is just a bonus.
got it backwards
Here's an idea. Take this guitar and use it to start your next trade up series. Keep going up. Do say 7 to 10 episodes with the goal of each trade havig a more valuable guitar! Try that & see where it goes!
Trade up to a true vintage 50s Fender
I agree! My suggestion is to get into a legit 50s LP (any model). That's totally doable!!
How about start with the Coppercaster and see how far/rare you can get on Trade Tuesday? Set a goal that is non les Paul. Vintage White Falcon? No Gibson’s as a rule?
love your uploads
I do tin and copper exterior roofing , I just started on my own but second gen tinner. If you need or want some class a work on a bay or flat roof on your new house I will barter for it
Surprised you're not a big fan of the color. I love it.
I have a 2018 “58 Mary Kaye”Custom Shop Strat. Fantastic guitar!!
Duuuuude! I had one- gave it up as part of a multi guitar trade where I snagged a ‘55 Goldtop that’s on page 102 of Goldtop Believers. Fattest neck ever! Love it. Great tone in it too. Might have something to trade ya’!
Thanks for all your hard work to put out a daily show! I'm a long time viewer and I look forward to show and it's my daily source of guitar info and fun. Love your light hearted take on all things and your guitar work just keeps on improving! Keep up the great content and a happy holidays to you and your family!! Thanks again Austin!
Ditto
Well said....I totally agree.i have watched the show for a surprisingly long time as well. The years have flown by without even noticing..but it's a great channel with a nice host ..been awsome..so you hit the nail on the headstock. Lol
@@hkguitar1984 Kathryn hit the nail on the headstock with that coment huh
Trogly, you don't adjust the truss rod to fix the action unless the truss rod adjustment is part of the problem. Always start by lowering your saddles to get the action lower and then adjust the truss rod if needed. Those saddles look like they have plenty of room to go down.
You could do 2 trades in tadam one starting with something small and the other starting with the copper caster (since you don't care for it) and going higher.
I have a 1994 John English Masterbuilt Stratocaster. These 90's Custom Shop guitars are some of the best, most beautiful guitars ever made. The flamed neck on mine literally takes your breath away.
wow that looks beautiful! i totally dig the copper finish with the anodized gold pickguard!
If you read up on Fender as much as you have Gibson, you may be able to demonstrate and talk about good guitars!
First! I’m a lucky guy to hit the mark again. Nice coppercaster. I don’t understand why manufacturers use plastic parts. These instruments cost too much to go cheap.
What do you suggest pickguards be made out of?
You just won the fabulous Wallmart award for very first comment wooohooo you are amazing... 🍪
@@216trixie solid gold
I actually dig this guitar, and damn, that neck/fretboard is beautiful. Also, I liked the look of that white pick guard when you laid it on the guitar, I thought that that looked killer. Nice Strat indeed.
I put in my like👍 Love the Coppercaster and the trade Tuesday show (I watch your show every day). Keep up the good work Austin. God bless and Merry Christmas 🎄🎸😎
Please keep Fender Fridays
More fenders!! 😬🔥
Really love the neck on the guitar.
Yay!
3:49 “1996 Standard owners manual. It’s kinda cool to have *’cause it’s old”!* Lol!
Now THAT makes me feel ancient!
Who wouldn't want to pay top dollar for this masterfully custom made in USA instrument now that it's been dissected on this guy's -biopsy table- "workbench" ??
I loved trade Tuesday!! I have an idea for a "variation" lol, why not start with this guitar and see how far you can push the value up?? Maybe see how nice of a vintage guitar you can turn this into?? Anywho, just a thought. No matter what direction you go I'd just like to see trade Tuesday come back again 🤓✌
Would love to see an honest trade up series. For example you make a brand new anonymous profile and no one knows you are doing the "challenge". The last time you did this, basically everyone knowingly took a loss on their trade with you because of knowing about the challenge. I feel as though in the real market no one in their right mind is going to take a $100+ loss on a guitar for a trade.
Man, that is such a great looking neck. I used to have a Tele with a birdseye maple neck, but not anywhere near as much figuring as yours. That is definitley a AAA!
and the crowd roars and chants " Trade Tuesday!!!...Trade Tuesday!!! Trade Tuesday!!!!"
On the older Strats the pickup screws were all counter sunk. Newer ones are all surface mount.
Absolutely beautiful 😍! That neck is 🎨 Artwork. The color is Custom rare. Yes and the headstock really shows off birdseye maple 🍁! I go for the idea of having a permanent set tuning like a E flat strat, a Drop D Strat etc. So to have a set of "tuned" Strats is my goal. Maybe some different pickups etc. Never tire of real Strats. Thanks for doing Strats. And being a World Class Les Paul Go to Guy!
Are the screw that hold the trem block in place stripped? I think they are under the saddles??
Hey Trog, please review a Schecter USA Custom Shop PT - will likely make you rethink allegiance to Gibson and Fender!
Yes indeed to Copper!! Copper can look like new penny, old penny, burnt orange, reddish pink - I prefer it w/o sparkle. This axe sounds great, good job setting it up. Ü
Nice change of pace - welcome to fender world. I’ve never seen a strat that couldn’t be improved with set up. If you don’t love the guitar, it’s not gonna love you back. Time to find a new home for this one.
J. Uribe is the builder stamp. I have a few of his guitars..
I would LOVE to have this strat, I Samurai Guitarist uses one. Beautiful guitar.
I started watching your channel because of trade Tuesday, happy to see you bring it back. I challenge you to the ultimate trade, don’t stop till you have a fifties Les Paul burst.
Trade Tuesday 👍
✌️
The neck is gorgeous
You called your sponsor a “cheap, budget, garbage thing” 😂
I think I know why that bridge was a bit anemic on the clean channel. On one of the last pan shots before closing the video out, it looks like the bass side of the pickup is notably lower than the treble side. I bet if you raised it up a smidge, it'd sound even better.
You should consider doing a trade Tuesday carry over where you start with the final instrument from the previous season.
I was just looking at 1996 strats, as it’s my birth year.. pretty neat man
I think with the great tones from the neck & middle pickups, a PAF type humbucker in the bridge position would make that a monster Strat.
I would love a season 4 of trade Tuesday!
love the show alot of really nice guitar , i really like the bursts cheers.
Very nice Fender quacking sounds etc etc.
The stripped trem block is probably where the block attaches to the face plate. Usually a 3 screw set up. Simple and cheap fix.
Can you tell me anything about 90s jacksons?
Nice neck figuring, like the N+M tone.
I'd love to have that Coppercaster! It would go well with my new Les Paul.
Wallmart
🍪🍪🍪
Ugh, that guitar was tortured with Flat Wounds!
I Win I Win I Win 😃😃😃
@@reverendg5937 wooohooo you are absolutely amazing and you are truly an awesome person 🍪
If that is a John Cruz stamp he was one of Fenders master builders for a long time . He has now left Fender under a cloud . It may be worth hanging on to the Strat as his name could certainly add some value to it
That neck is stunning Mr Trogly 😎
I get the guitar and love my 2 strats but meh. I think if you were gonna play this one a lot I’d put a black pick guard on it along with black knobs etc and store the original parts in the case.
man ide play this guitar for at least an hr or two evry day until it wore out then ide restore it and do it all over again if i live that long! ide have already worn most of the nitro off the back of the neck. this is what happened to my current home made stratocaster. it sounds great. tone for days!
Interesting fact: Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters actually had the "wrong" headstock shape until early 1999. The part of the headstock under the logo is bowed out slightly, it should be more flat. I had a conversation with Jay Black on this issue in 1997 and he acknowledged it wasn't right and that they needed to fix it. I waited for years to buy a Custom Shop Strat until they fixed it, mine is a '56 Stratocaster made in early fall 1999.
The tremblock is the block under the trem like a Floyd rose
That neck is just amazing!
Tortoise 🐢 would be cool on it
Trogly called some of his endorsements “some cheap budget garbage thing” 😂
#29 is on eBay right now
At one time, I had seen online a few Gibson Les Paul Classic “Coppertops” that looked amazing. Totally wanted one. I look now and again…
YES Sir Please TRADE TUESDAY 🙏 😀
Trade Tuesday…BEAUTIFUL!!!
I would love if you get some rare fenders like the original cyclone with 3 jaguar pickups or models fender guys don't know much about.
Funny, for Austin this Fender is kinda old being from 1996. Sometime ago I watched a Normans rare guitars where they did a review on a 1996 Telecaster plus, for them, that was their newest guitar.
perhaps you could try and go for a 50's gibson or something in that ball park
What do you use for amps in your vids?
If you screw the trem all the way in it is probably stripped near the bottom. Best to just put a tiny trem spring inside the hole....
Possibly the nicest neck and pickups in my world ever- and l don’t like stock fender pickups…but l like these
Nice strat! Especially that neck 😎
Please continue the trade series!
Neck says Oct 17th?
Maybe trem 10-21 is Oct 21st? 🤷♂️
Check out kws copper boy named by bill f gibbons 👍
John cruse cs guitars are some of the best
Jon Cruise?!!!! That’s awesome! Definitely increases the value!
Nice Bridge pickup.
Hey Trogly I can see some fine metal filings/wool on the pickup pole pieces. Maybe you should try and remove it with a stronger magnet or some Playdoh.
J Cruz is now a master builder and VERY well known in the Fender circles
Unfortunately that stamp is for J Uribe
@@TrippingBowser Aww poo
Interesting that there is some tape in the neck pocket. Ididnt expected that in a custom shop grade instrument.
You might find bare wood Under the output jack
That bridge pickup has a lot of quack in it. Like!
Why not start trade Tuesday with the custom shop strat! Great guitar!
YeS Very Stratti
sounds from those pickups looking very copperish sounding
Excellent run down,my favorite 🤩 and yes those pickups are gritty nasty sweet 🎸🎸🎸. Thank you thank you 🙃😊
hey Trog you should do a seg on Harley Benton guitars they are great sounding and playing budget guitars.i know you have a following of poor guitar players
Hey Trogly you should play Fender Stratocaster more. You have funk! Best I have heard you play except for the Shecter ( pardon my spelling).
Trade Tuesday is a lot of fun. I'd love to hear the stories of others who have traded up.
Love trade tuesdays. Gives us regular guys hopes we can work our way up to custom shop level as well !
A huge problem with the copper caster is the fact that Fender did not finish the neck in satin. That gloss is sticky and will ruin your experience. No excuse for that at this price point,
One of the best sounding strats you have featured
Did everything I could do lol, love trade Tuesdays
You need to kick off trade Tuesday again especially with todays market it would be awesome to see what you end up with
