Correct. Without any maintenance, even a "HIGHTECH" aquarium will look shabby. I have done no CO2 no fertilizer no aquasoil aquarium inspired by FatherFish. It's working fine.
I too have low tech tank and the plants are thriving in it but a weekly water change and a single dosage of ( home made ) fertilizer after every water change is enough for me...
With all due respect, I'm going to be brutally honest. For any ecosystem based tanks, despite of not adding co2 or filter or any fertilizer, a bare minimum maintainance is a must. I do have smaller ecosystems which are thriving, and your aquarium isn't that big for fish. You could have limited it to just shrimps and snails. And please stop demotivating others who are taking baby steps in to this hobby. Non co2 setups are real and they can be made to look good. Father fish is an example, with whom you have recently collaborated with. Also, I will show you my tanks or tanks, that I had setup for my friends as an example, right now. Yes, I do agree adding co2, using fertilizers does help an aquarium by miles, but they could get expensive and that's to be the choice of that particular individual. No one is an exception when it comes to facing algae issues, from MD fish tanks, mark, green aqua, aquarium design group, George farmer and "you" as well. Every one faces issues with a planted tank. I sternly believe, that any planted tank needs time to find its balance and one needs to have patience in order to achieve it. Lastly, there are better ways to promote your products and try to encourage people.

I'm following your videos since 2 years it is Great , but this video is so demotivating for hobbyists and for beginners, No water change is ok but you could have added the water ( evaporation) and maintained the tank but u didn't . I believe you should try walstad of aquarium where one only uses garden soil & a thick layer of sand to keep soil under, you should research about it & give it a try before giving up on no tech aquariums. I have successfully done it if possible I can send you photos

I disagree of some point here. 1. Not everyone can afford tech required for planted tank 2. Simple Hang on Filter does most of job of cleaning fine particles n promote bacteria growth 3. What is problem with algae ? In nature too algae is there. We can add Nerite snail and Amano it's their food. 4. Adding 50 % slow growing and 50% fast growing like cocomba . 5. Dead matter is required to rejuvenate soil matter . Snails n shrimp decompose it making easy matter which goes through sand. Not everything needs to be clean n tidy
Totally agree. Co2 and fertilisers are definitely required for plant growth. But not everyone can afford it. Even a “High Tech” tank will look like this if there is no filtration and maintenance.

Exactly. Every aquarium naturally has some amount of Co2. If you keep plants which do not have high requirements of Co2 and fertilisers, then one should not have any issues growing them without adding any Co2 and fertilisers. It totally depends on type of plants you use and bioload of the tank

I have a low tech aquarium, no co2, no ferts, no ada soil, no filter. Its been 9 months, tank is clear with lots of ludwigias, rotundifolas, bacopa carolinianas, micro sword. It has guppies and mollies in it, all are happy thriving, giving birth. I change weekly 30% water. It has so rapid growth that I have to trim my plants sometimes twice a month.

sir i came accross a product which is used by md fish tanks, its colombo nutri base and aquatic pond soil , it has given excellent results in his tanks with his semi walstad method of making aquariums . But in india nowhere we can find similar products like that , if aquarium products india could work on bringing such type of substrate system which could be easy on pocket by doing walstad method ,could be a great opportunity for the hobby to have such products in indian aquatic hobby, eagerly waiting on the api susbrate system

sir there is a mistake in ur experience . I am also an experienced fish keeper for atlest 20 yrs . i am from Kerala where hot temp is more higher than urs. many times i successfully managed no co2, no filter , no artificial light planted aquarium. the key is , 1: selection of plants .2 : right amount of light and 3 right amount of fish. 4 right amount of temperature. u made a mistake in plant selection. thats where u failed. also ur tank is too small to use under artificial light . if u put them in window shade then it will perform better always need to use fast growing stem plants like star grass and pearl weed etc and use those plants which inhibits the growth of algae eg : vallisneria , submerged water lillies, chryptocryne spiralisis . and another important thing is 80 % of tank inside area must be covered with plants .

I disagree of some point here.
1. Not everyone can afford tech required for planted tank
2. Simple Hang on Filter does most of job of cleaning fine particles n promote bacteria growth
3. What is problem with algae ? In nature too algae is there. We can add Nerite snail and Amano it's their food.
4. Adding 50 % slow growing and 50% fast growing like cocomba .
5. Dead matter is required to rejuvenate soil matter . Snails n shrimp decompose it making easy matter which goes through sand.
Not everything needs to be clean n tidy
Totally agree. Co2 and fertilisers are definitely required for plant growth. But not everyone can afford it. Even a “High Tech” tank will look like this if there is no filtration and maintenance.

Even where there is water agitation CO2 is mixed as well so saying 0 CO2 is foolishness. Everyone is here to sell unwanted product. Not expected from Mayur Dev to discriminate Walstad method of fish keeping
Exactly. Every aquarium naturally has some amount of Co2. If you keep plants which do not have high requirements of Co2 and fertilisers, then one should not have any issues growing them without adding any Co2 and fertilisers. It totally depends on type of plants you use and bioload of the tank

I have a low tech aquarium, no co2, no ferts, no ada soil, no filter.
Its been 9 months, tank is clear with lots of ludwigias, rotundifolas, bacopa carolinianas, micro sword. It has guppies and mollies in it, all are happy thriving, giving birth.
I change weekly 30% water. It has so rapid growth that I have to trim my plants sometimes twice a month.

Hello sir. I have a 1 feet cube aquarium which has aquasoil in it(no co2,with hang on back filter and spi bio media). Due to some reasons I couldn't maintain my planted tank so wanted to shift to fish only tank. How to store the aquasoil i am having? Will it get wasted if i take it out of the tank and store it in a small bucket?

sir i came accross a product which is used by md fish tanks, its colombo nutri base and aquatic pond soil , it has given excellent results in his tanks with his semi walstad method of making aquariums . But in india nowhere we can find similar products like that , if aquarium products india could work on bringing such type of substrate system which could be easy on pocket by doing walstad method ,could be a great opportunity for the hobby to have such products in indian aquatic hobby, eagerly waiting on the api susbrate system

Sir.. apko apna product promote karne ke liye ek mahina ka review vale video ka wait nahi karna chahiye tha... I have 9 tanks on same setup.. no co2 no fertilizer no filter if tank is cube. Water chang 30% on every 15 days and top-up regularly. My all tanks grow well and fishes are healthy enough. Even they are breeding. But in my all tanks I have some alage eaters.. may be some snail or golden alage eater or placo... I m really happy with my hobby ❤

sir there is a mistake in ur experience . I am also an experienced fish keeper for atlest 20 yrs . i am from Kerala where hot temp is more higher than urs.
many times i successfully managed no co2, no filter , no artificial light planted aquarium.
the key is , 1: selection of plants .2 : right amount of light and 3 right amount of fish. 4 right amount of temperature.
u made a mistake in plant selection. thats where u failed. also ur tank is too small to use under artificial light . if u put them in window shade then it will perform better
always need to use fast growing stem plants like star grass and pearl weed etc and use those plants which inhibits the growth of algae eg : vallisneria , submerged water lillies, chryptocryne spiralisis . and another important thing is 80 % of tank inside area must be covered with plants .

Sir, can a platy fish live for 6 years?😂 my fish lived for 6 years in a community tank(20 gal), all the other livebearers lived for 2-3 and it was a low-maintenance planted tank just like this one in the video, and the fish was 2 inches big for some reason😂 Now i m shifting my fishes to the 20 gal
